New Metal Gear Solid 4 screens (SPOIIIILLLLERS)

This is pretty bad. It's hard enough staying unspoiled for a couple of days. Two weeks is going to be tough.

perhaps a good start would be not to click on a thread with "SPOIIIIIIILLLLERS" in the title?

did you buy the stand-alone soundtrack or do you have the one that came with the l.e.? if it's the latter, can you confirm whether or not it's the full ost (i read on tus that the l.e. ost would only be a portion of it)?

apologies if you already answered this, but i haven't really kept up with this thread since it's so spoilerific.

It's the full, stand-alone soundtrack (2 discs) that came out yesterday in Japan. The cover is the same as the JP version of the game (Old Snake face, no text) and is in a slim, 2-cd mega case that's the size of a DVD case.

<_< You have the game?

The title screen is fucking amazing. The game start's being epic before you press start :lol

All right! This is me, bailing out of the gaming section of GAF until I finish the game.

I hope OT stays safe...

I think it's a display case. You can see a 2 more cases on the rack in the background along with some case of what looks like Ninja Gaiden II and Soul Calibur IV.

That's not a display case. The ones in the background do not have anything like that on the back. At my work we do not have the one he is holding, just the crappy ones on the shelf.

two weeks without game forums for people that don't want spoilers.. cause you know there will be spoilers out in the open soon.... they will be in your face

Just the soundtrack. The JP stand-alone soundtrack has the same cover as the JP MGS Game cover - keeps with the packaging theme for all of the JP SKUs.

My games (1 SE, 2 LEs) are shipping with whatever my store is getting. I told my manager that I'd work midnight so that I can grab & set aside my copies from the rest of the reserves. :lol

The guy with the game on Gamefaqs said he wasn't going to post any spoilers. That's cool. Otherwise it was BAIL OUT time for me!

You are some gullible mofos.

I just heard 30 secs. of the ending theme song called
Here's To You
. I couldn't tell if it's as good as The Best is Yet to Come but that would be expecting way too much I think. But it was great from what I heard.

No seriously, make his arms bigger and longer. Specifically the bicep area. The arms should reach half way down the thigh. Bottom half of the legs could be longer too, but they're not as far off
I agree with Yoboman, MisterSINISTER!! His arms are too short..

For our one year anniversary my girlfriend is getting me a customized Ipod. She was going to send it off with a Metal Gear picture she already had in mind, but she decided to let me find the exact picture I wanted.

It will be for a 80 GB Ipod classic. The Picture will go on the front and don't worry about the scroll wheel. The picture must have 300 dpi.

I thought about just going with the classic Foxhound logo, but I would like to see how interesting I could make it.

Could anybody direct me or create a good Metal Gear picture for my Ipod? Maybe some of shinakawa's work would look interesting. I'd like the picture to have a black background as I still want the Ipod to be somewhat black. My favorite color combination is black/green. I'd like the picture to encompass the series not just one specific game.

Thanks in advance for helping.

Here are some pics of other Ipods that have been done.

If anybody has high quality versions of the foxhound logos please post.

OPM has their review out, I saw the new issue. I didnt open it, anyone have a summary?

Summery:

MGS4 is Hideo Kojima's love juice all over your smiling face in the purest thickest form ever conceived in the history of anything.

Which one are you talking about, I think theres two. UK and Dutch. Anyway I really hope the character's animation is improved and makes them emote more.

American one, Barnes and Nobles got it today.

Summary of Playstation: The Official Magazine.

-Meryl has grown since we last saw her. She is now a strong and confident leader. And very much the female Solid Snake: "badass".
-The intro cut scene is quote "senstational" backed by positional audio that brings the beautifully realized world to life. Forget Prerendered Stuff!! All the cut-scenes are done in-game.
-A couple of Assassin's Creed references. It shows that even though the tone of the game is quite serious, they still have time to wink at the camera. Haven't lost their tongue-in-cheek humor.
-Naomi Hunter is a fox. Pun intended. Get it...Grey Fox. Okay, don't quit your day job. She provides a lot of exposition on why Snake is "Old Snake".
-There are quick-time button presses during cut-scenes which will cause a flashback to prior games/moments. Drebin gives you points for hitting them.
-Direct quote: "If you come to the game with no prior MGS Knowledge, you'll still uncover one of the most absorbing stories ever told".
-The acting in the cut scenes is "incredible". There are a lot of subtleties. (Time will tell if this is true as I am a huge animation fan and will most likely rip on the game for crude animation.) But this gives me hope.
-The solid eye system looks incredible. Has many different functions that will help you along and you'll need all the help you can get. At the core MGS4 is still a stealth game and it's the hardest of the lot.
-There are some amazing twists and turns. (Woot!) Direct quote: Two acts into this experience you might think you know what's in store for the rest of the game, when it suddenly changes in such a beautiful way.
(Acts system similar to Snake Eater. Different locations.)

-Gun customization! Lights, sights, and grips for improved accuracy. Each gun with detailed statistics and grades on power Grade A (best) to Grade E (worst). You can even lock-on.
-You can listen to your ingame iPod even songs from prior games by finding them in certain levels. Looks like these are the new frogs?

Sorta-super spoilers below:

-You return to Shadow Moses Island. (I didn't know that.) And the environment is nothing short of stunning.
-The reviewer was never a big fan of MGS series but now MGS4 has made him a fan and he put MGS4 in his top-10 favorite games.
-There is tons of dialogue and references to other games near the end of the game. So many infact, you hardly would have to play the other games to understand the characters and the story. The ending/epilogue is near an hour long cut-scene. Wow.
-"MGS4 is special in so many ways that I suspect it will reside among the videogame industy's greatest achievements long after we're dust"
-5/5 Stars

Sorry if it's been posted. I havent seen/read much on the game, so I wouldn't know what's been out there and what's not.

I can't wait. My friend's letting me play using his PS3 but hopefully I won't need to and can scrounge up some cash to buy my own.

Can anyone help me pick out some new headphones so I don't wake the neighbors playing this at night?
