New model2 emu is out!!!! *faints*

yo, how the hell do you setup the ini to read the rom directory?

i hate these emu makers, man. they are from planet mars when it comes to writing a logical README for this shit.

I really honestly hope that Sega hires the guys who put this together so that they can get cracking on a PSN/XBLA version of Daytona USA... :D

You sure about that? The M2 itself never came out.

Excellent! Those who don't understand Isamu's excitement, I weap for you. Gaming is truly dead for you if you don't understand the peak of Sega blue sky gaming, that came with the Model 2 hardware.

So true.

Simply put, Daytona is one of the best games I've ever played.

I have fond memories of not only arcade Daytona, but playing Daytona for Saturn with my dad. Good times.

I think I might just break down and go pick up a G25 at Fry's tonight (if they have them).

The one thing gaming has NEVER had....

The one thing I've been waiting for since 1994 and a horrible port appeared...

THE ONE THING IS COMPLETE.

DAY EEEE TOOOONNNN AAAAA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Finally playing the ONE game that everyone couldn't make correctly.

Yeah, now about a Model 3 emu that can run Daytona 2... :D

Virtua Fighter 2. The original House of the Dead. Daytona USA. The Lost World: Jurassic Park. Dynamite Cop/Die Hard Arcade. The original Dead or Alive. Sega Rally Championship. Virtua On.
Die Hard Arcade was an ST-V Titan game (arcade version of the Saturn hardware), and I could have sworn that Lost World was Model 3...

You sir are correct.

Dynamite Cop, the Die Hard sequel, was model 2 though.

Decathalete is often mistaken for Model 2 too but was ST-V.

Lost World was Model 3, I mentioned it later on that page. My mistake. It dawned on me that I remember seeing it along side arcade machines for Virtua Fighter 3.

Die Hard Arcade was just the original Dynamite Cop with a name change, right? It's listed. Games supported by the emulator:

- Behind Enemy Lines
- Daytona USA
- Desert Tank
- Dead or Alive
- Dynamite Baseball
- Dynamite Cop
- Dynamite Deka 2
- Fighting Vipers
- Gunblade NY
- House of the Dead
- Indianapolis 500
- Last Bronx
- ManxTT Superbike
- Motor Raid
- Over Rev
- Pilot Kids
- Sonic the Fighters/Sonic Championship
- Super GT 24h
- Sega Ski Super G
- Sky Target
- Sega Rally Championship
- Sega Rally Pro Drivin'
- Sega Touring Car Championship
- Top Skater
- Virtua Cop
- Virtua On: Cyber Troopers
- Virtua Striker
- Wave Runner
- Zero Gunner

Die Hard Arcade was a different game. Dynamite Cop was the sequel to Die Hard Arcade, without the movie license.

Anyways...

That's most of 'em right? As for House of the Dead and Virtua Cop, is anyone willing to try and see if they can get light guns to work using this product?

so i compared the emu with this video which dude claims is right off the original model 2 board:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JMTiHQj075E

textures look darker and muddier on the emu and there's a good deal of pop-up in the emulator that does not appear to be in the arcade version.

still, amazing job on the emu. it's fast and the audio sounds on point.
1: Its being recorded off of the monitor
2: You are running in 32bit color, not 16bit like the original.
3: Texture Filtering might be on.

Anyone tried the emulator with a Driving Force Pro wheel? Doesn't seem to recognize my accel/brake pedals, which rather essential for a racing game.

Trojan X said:
I just watched the video... Holy crap!! Which one was the arcade? The one on the right? I do not know...
The real one is the one with the pop ups of the track. I played enough Daytona USA arcade to recognize the pop ups as soon as I saw them in the video.

twinturbo2 said:
I have to ask, does the new emu support the gear shift on the Logitech G25? If so, I'll buy one ASAP. :D

Yes :)

Strangely, it's saying my Daytona are missing files and it's the same one that I used before and worked. Can anyone help?

I forgot to mention you need the model2.zip. easy to find.

FF isn't as strong as it should be. I have a MOMO Driving force pro.

j00 can make the FFB stronger in the ini fyle.

Stop. Just......stop. Because if that day ever happens I WILL get banned for spamming the forum with nude pics of me breakdancing in the middle of Madison Square Garden during the half time of a Knicks game!

Good news Isamu.

BTW, Have you already played F-Zero GX¿?

Yes. Today in fact. Up to Chapter 6 but can't pass it. Trying to complete Diamond Cup as well(curse you Phantom Road arrgh).

Just a note that I picked up a G25 today solely for this. Anyone want to share their .ini file? I'm finding the FFB pretty weak, but have no clue what values to move the different gains to.

If only console games would remind us of this...

Damn, I should put that in my little XNA game I'm making, if anyone could get a screengrab of that I'd appreciate it!

Fuck this. :((( The graphics rendering is a mess on my machine - flying polygons etc.

Shame, I remember playing scud race on one of the early versions.

Sorry to be off-topic....

The M2 never came out as a video game console as it was supposed to. However, the M2 was used in other forms. Industrial Kiosks. DVD Players. ATM machines, and most relevant to gaming, in several arcade games, as already mentioned.

The 3DO-designed, Panasonic manufactured M2 never came out as a video game console as it was supposed to. However, the M2 was used in other forms. Industrial Kiosks. DVD Players. ATM machines, and most relevant to gaming, in several Konami arcade games, as already mentioned.

I need help also. Someone break down what you did for the INI rom directory please. What did you type in there?

I have the rom files but it says files are missing. These roms worked before on an older version of the emulator, but I'm lost on how to type in for the rom directory in the INI area.

I imagine you'd have difficulty finding it at much higher resolutions than this, considering the era of arcades in which it was common...

WANT.

Somebody needs to capture some rolling demos spanning all 8 monitors. I've only witnessed such a setup across 8 deluxe cabs maybe 2 or 3 times in my life, and that would have had to have been at least 10 years ago now. After I'd run out of money playing the game I could just sit and stare in awe for several minutes at a time.

So beautiful.

Simply can't believe ES got FFB working as fast as he did. Peabo, did you do all the testing for the FFB and analog controls? Why didn't ES do it himself? Does he not own an FFB wheel? Just curious.

Lucisac said:
No he does not isamu ):, maybe we should all chip in and buy him one.

Isamu said:
If that's true I would like to buy him a G25. Should I PM El Semi directly or Peabo would you like to let him know that I wish to buy him a G25 wheel?

Lucisac said:
We just buy it hehe. How would we do it? Set up a paypal donation dedicated for it? If so, who will pay the fees etc? Any ideas? Set it up, I'll put a fair amount into it no hesitation.

Isamu said:
I'm going to PM El Semi and ask him. I will pay for everything!

Peabo said:
I think you should ask if he wants/needs one first! Send him a PM

Done :D

If a model 3 emulator comes with the same ffb as the real machine you're gonna die man! XD

In all honesty, I very well may actually die. Something like that would be an event I honestly don't think I could handle without having a massive stroke.
