Hmm, I'm cautiously optimistic. The game is having a chance to be great but my first impressions aren't good.
-Camera for the kart is having some wierd movement. You kinda don't exact know where you're going to be on the track, you don't "feel" it. Sometimes you also feel like there's a bit of auto-steer.
-Sound of engines is too toned down. Sound of the road is too high, ambiance is too low. Well, it's sort of fucked up and you need to reajust everything in the menu. Engine at max still isn't enough though.
-Framerate is HORRENDOUS. Also, wierd "shaking" on the camera.
-Having seen the erratic AI at work, it does feels like the random festival of luck bullshit that Mario Kart became... since N64 era.
-It's so easy to make a track that it might be actually hard to planify one and reproduce it. Lots of advanced editing will need to be made already just because of the kinda wierd way you lay out the track. Try to draw a real life track for fun, you'll see what I mean. Good look making all the turn and having the last turn in line with the start...
I cross my fingers but I will not buy this blindly that's for sure. And the framerate absolutely needs to be fixed or I'm not touching this game at all.
