This would make a VERY boss boxart!

Just saw it. Why the fuck did nobody made a thread about this? Seriously i searched and found nothing. New threads for new news people remember?

I believe it was posted in the NG3 Gamesom thread. A new thread wasn't made.

If people are referring to Ryu's left bicep as being too exaggerated - it really isn't. Low body fat coupled with a higher than average cardiovascular regimen will expand the veins and give your biceps that appearance. I know, because my biceps look similar ;) (just, not that big, because I'm not as awesome - and I consume a lot of caffeine).
Jeremy?

To Hayashi's credit, that boss looks less stupid than Genshin or Murai.

Murai brought the most tears though. I think everyone's first play through of NG1 goes something like: get nearly killed during the first level, use up health potions > get ass kicked by Murai and realize you know nothing about this game.

...ok

ummm, and in motion

WTF is going here

from interviews, it sounds like the game is taking a step back in the gameplay department. so people aren't too hyped, even if it has nice graphics.

Sigh. The sad part is that I'll still buy it because I love the franchise so much, but this game has a lot to prove.
I don't know if you mean it for the same reasons I do, but I agree. NG2 was such a pile of crap, I'm very very wary of NG3.

NG2 was fuck awesome UNTIL Itigaki thought it would be cool to have shit coming at you from off screen!

i dont think the combat looked less fluid(however you're defining fluid).

Ryu goes from move to move, enemy to enemy in same fashion still, but graphically much prettier.

QTE is the satan of action game fluidity.

The original Ninja Gaiden is one of my favourite games. Ever. But this one really doesn't do it for me. Ryu "Monster arm" Hayabusa seems to have lost his mojo and I'm not impressed by the new Team Ninja so far.

I thought OT was already a bit too close to QTE, so I couldn't care less about NG3 vs. NG2. The real story is how they fell so far from NG1. NG2 didn't sell as well and NG3 may sell less...hopefully that'll get them to make a game in the vein of the first one.

I dont think the sales had much to do with the gameplay mechanic changes.

Sales/Marketing is really a whole different discussion.

edit as for QTEs, im not religious about it as some people are, to me its about how its implemented, some of the best action games have a variation of QTEs.

To act like having QTE = Insta-fail is kinda stupid in this day and age.

All really just disguised anti-Hayashi sentiment.

That makes no sense.

If the series is in decline then they should be looking to reboot the series with new ideas, new goals. Not make the same game again.

The biceps themselves looks ridiculous in form, but that vein should not be running continuously over his deltoids like that.

They have changed it significantly with each one.

The button prompt might be part of some tutorial, but the slowdown and zoom in isn't.

:/

So the problem is completely cosmetic? Because it's the exact same principle, hold /\ or Y to charge the orbs and then kill everyone. At least now it's more interactive rather than a canned animation.

Erm, what? It's absolutely nothing like that, charging is entirely optional, the slowdown and zoom in as Ryu cuts through enemies isn't.

It's an integral part of the new gameplay direction, Dog Hayashi wants players to know what it feels like to cut someone's flesh/bones.

:/

No de-limbing or decapitation though!

Yep and they are the worst part of those games. By a damn mile.

Ultimate techniques are completely different, and they're optional. These steel-on-bone segments are just QTEs that happen randomly in the middle of a combo. You have no control over it
