Nintendo is making a heck of a lot of money right now. They don't need us hardcore gamers and quite frankly, after the flop that was GameCube, Nintendo is probably happy to put hardcore gaming in it's past.

I'd like to see more hardcore games myself and I am sure that Nintendo is making at least a handful of them but it seems like their main focus is on casual gaming.

Based on the E3 conference theres no way to assume any position of Nintendos. Their announced casual stuff was almost just as non existent

If you based the future on E3s conference the only safe bet would be Nintendo is leaving the industry

Then this is how the entire Q&A will go:

Miyamoto: "Hi welcome to our Animal Crossing Q&A!"

Guy: "What's up with all the casual crap?"

Miyamoto: "Yes I agree, Animal Crossing is looking great isn't it?"

Guy2: "When are you going to show some hardcore games?"

Miyamoto: "Look I'm fishing in the game!"

Guy3: "Seriously? Where are the games???"

Miyamoto: *Laughs*

Audience: "..."

Miyamoto: "Kthxbai!"
:lol this is exactly how its gunna be

Franchises we didn't hear from this year:

Mario
Zelda
Metroid
Pikmin
Star Fox
F-Zero
Donkey Kong
Custom Robo
Stafy
Kid Icarus
Earthbound
Elite Beat Agents

At least Nintendo is still putting out fuck awesome "hardcore" games on the DS. You guys should be happy that they aren't flooding it with Brain Age variations.

i hope the people at the Q&A rip nintendo a new ass about hardcore games.

They won't.

It seriously is an abusive relationship. My bruises are healing, though. I'm learning to say no!

Come on journalists...say something about Nintendo bringing the shittiest e3 conference since 2003. Reggie will just spin it (if he's even there), but still. It would show that we're getting tired of Nintendo coming home drunk and angry.

I used to laugh and shrug that comment off....but this e3 changed that.

While Nintendo's franchises are my first (and true) loves, it's pretty clear that I'll be playing Microsoft and Sony's games if I actually want to...ya' know...have fun.

It's sad.

Yet I'll still buy Mario Baseball, the new Kirby DS game, and the new Wario this fall.

That's IT, though! Nothing else. I've been showing Wii Music to my friends who have a Wii. I don't want them falling for it this winter when it releases.

Zelda Team is working on a game
Mario Team is working on a game
Retro Studios is working on a game
LOTS of other 1st party companies are working on games

We KNOW that hardcore titles are being worked on. If mario, zelda or metroid get a "casual" party style game based on that series, it won't be the main branches that always produce hardcore titles that will work on those. So yeah, Nintendo HAS hardcore titles in the making.

Franchises we have yet to see on the Wii as part of the main series (ie no spin offs). This doesn't mean that we will see this game, it's just franchises that nintendo has that they haven't released a game for this gen (or in the past few)

- Pikmin
- StarFox
- Punch-Out
- Kid Icarus
- Mother / Earthbound
- Donkey Kong
- F-Zero
- PilotWings
- Kirby
- To some extent; Zelda (it was a gc port)

I'm sure i'm forgetting many. On top of that, Nintendo has maybe 3 titles that we know of that are in the works that are being built internally, the company is massive, there's no way they're only working on 3 titles.

With all that being said, It's aggrevating as fuck that we haven't seen the new games yet.

For some reason I find it odd that gamers can so quickly identify with having alcoholic/drug-addicted friends, rape and betrayal.

Did those have to do with them turning to videogames in the first place?

And if they started gaming in their childhood... they must have suffered some pretty harsh things. Should I pity them?

hopefully someone will. in the past nintendo always considered animal crossing as a casual game hardcores could enjoy. now they claim it's hardcore.... seems like nintendo is redefining casual games by what soccer moms play and making old casual stuff as the new hardcore. it's BS and i hope someone beats nintendos head back on straight.

even take names kick ass reggie seems of died. he seems so much less caring and robotic now.

Too much money invested in HD? It's up in the air at this point. Nintendo is NEVER getting Western exclusives from big developers.

Japan is a different story.
I'm not even arguing exclusives. There is a DS form of GTA on the way. Please don't tell me that devs and pubs are worried about downgrading their games. If there is a market for a 2D GTA, there is a market for a 3D GTA on Wii. There is a market for a mainline RE on Wii. There is a market for a mainline Final Fantasy. Mainline Metal Gear. Ace Combat (actually, that's on the way but they changed the plane designs). I would buy them on Wii. I don't care about graphical fidelity. I'm not buying a PS3 until it hits below $250. I'm dying to get rid of my 360 before it dies. A million people bought RE4 when they could have gotten it for $10 cheaper on the same system or on a PS2.

God, I hate this generation. This generation sickens me. :p

Remove the space.

Don't kill the website with too many visits either. :)

You can almost hear the collective prayers of millions of Nintendo fans around the world ...

... oh the tears will be flowing again if they don't show something!

*popcorn*

We've heard rumblings that something big might be announced at this post-press conference event, but it's far from a sure thing. Keep it here.

5:44 PM PDT There are roughly 100 members of the press gathered on the green plush seats of the L.A. Convention Center's Theater 411. No music in the background this time, just the low chatter of dozens and dozens of journalists.

5:49 A few latecomers are straggling in, but it looks like it will be far from a capacity crowd. About half the seats are empty.

5:54 The lack of background music is a little disturbing. We find ourselves humming Bill Joel's "No Man's Land" under our breaths for no apparent reason ...

5:55 On stage there are two large LCDs, four Wiis, four chairs, a bunch of Remotes and Nunchuks, a drum stool, and a Balance Board. Begin the rampant speculation!

Fuck more Wii Air Music.

I thought I just liked the plumber jumping around the cartoony colorful world, but no, I guess I was sexually abused by a drunk old man. Thanks for opening my eyes!

Oh Nintendo ...

Oh dear. Even Animal Crossing would be preferable to Wii Music. Didn't they spend more than enough time on that at the public event?

True, and don't forget promising games that are already revealed.

Fatal Frame IV
Rune Factory
Wario Shake
Tenchu 4
Little King's Story
MadWorld
Monster Hunter 3
Oboro Muramasa Youtuden (?)
Crystal Bearers (?)
Shiren 3
Dead Rising

I think that you are confusing Nintendo with Square, Konami and another companies.

Yes, Nintendo is not flooding DS with Brain Age variations. Is not flooding DS with anything.
