New patch for USF4 PS4 rolling out now

Less than half a frame difference means that it will imperceptible for 99% of people. They've matched the 360 version lag.

Not saying well done, because this was promised for launch. Had Sony only delayed the release a couple of weeks and fixed this before releasing the game, it might have been used by EVO.

Now, knowing that it finally works as promised, I might look at it in the Store and consider buying it. But it needs to be said, Sony lost a lot of credibility with this fiasco.

Can someone test the input lag from the MadCatz TE2 and the Hori Rap V4?

They were using the DS4 pad for this results (5.3 frames/89ms) ?

I don't know man. The latest in a long line of revisions of a 7 year old game that costs $25 was mildly broken for a few weeks. It was poorly managed, for sure, but this isn't going to have any kind of long-term consequences for Sony's rep. People are feeling good about SFV, are they not?

If it's Evo ready it's better than the Xbox360 version,
I had the PS3 once, if it's atleast better than the PS3 version
I will buy it for sure...I guess it's to early to know right?
Seems like the input lag between PS4 and 360 is unnoticed now... so it is close to the best version of the game.

> PS3 by a good margin.

Were multi-hitting moves (Honda's hands, Chun's legs) ever fixed? Not sure what was broken, so I'm not sure how to test.

Its already better then PS3 version with the new patch ;)

PS4 -5.3
PS3 - 6.4

Posted this in another thread. Hope it helps.

Contrast still needs adjustment in some stages. At least the Elena/Rolento mode selection screen doesn't look that bad.
Sounds improved a lot but at least in Small Airfield stage people steps still sound like Mecha Zangief.

Input feels great and online while not as good as the PC version yet, works great.

They are almost there!

I'm on the brink of buying this. SFV has me super hyped! So would you guys all agree that this version is on par with PS3 or 360? Is the sound bug fixed? I'm really tempted to buy this. I love me some SF4 and I don't own my PS3 copy anymore

Definitely the Xbox version. Input lag is much better now than the PS3 version's.

How much input lag is in the PC version of this game compared to the PS4/360 version? Thinking about getting USF4, but not sure on what platform to get it on.

Better than the PS3 version, but it's still got more bugs than the 360 one for the time being. It's almost EVO ready, even if they won't use it lol. It should be tournament ready post EVO, so for the remaining of the Capcom tour this year. It will surely make one appearance at EVO 2016 as we will probably see USFIV and SFV at EVO 2016.

As a reference, and tested by DisplayLag:

USF4 PS4 version on release - lag of 8.0 frames
USF4 PS4 version patch 1.02 - lag of 7.2 frames
USF4 PS4 version patch 1.03 - lag of 5.3 frames

+/-2 more patches and we have the definitive (console) version over here, Other Ocean is on its way to redeem themselves for this gigantic screw up. Good stuff.

for all the well-deserved shit that capcom/sony/other ocean got during its release, they deserve some kudos for a relatively quick fix.

Was just thinking the same thing! Doesn't condone the bugs and issues at launch but they definitely deserve credit for getting this done in a couple weeks.

Gaf had me thinking this would take at least a year to fix and shit. So this is a pleasant surprise.

Gaf overreacts to a lot of things, and i think MCC has made a lot of people pessimistic on the devs abilities to fix their game in a timely manner. I mean we cant really use MCC as a basis of comparison to anything really, no other game has released that broken before, it was uprecedented.

Anyone could have seen that all the fixes this game needed were simple to patch. Which really makes one wonder why it got released in that state in the first place. Oh well the Evo ship has sailed already but at least it got fixed. Sony is the only one to have lost here, hopefully they dont use Other Ocean for ports anymore because yikes.

As I said in the other thread I played a couple green bar ranked matches and it feels MUCH better. Only .2 frames worse than the 360 version but it's basically identical to that now. Definitely worth the $25 purchase price now.

I wonder if they will continue to patch and decrease the input lag even more.

Oh, I wouldn't say that. There have been games released plenty more broken than MCC. Let's not get hyperbolic and pretend it was the worst.

MCC played fine in single-player mode from the start. It was just the multiplayer part that was the most broken.

Well alright, I said I'd be impressed if they patched things that quickly, and I have to say... I'm impressed.

Yeah definitely, I've gotta' say, it seems they did good with these patches. Kudos, indeed.

C'mon now.

It wasn't an overreaction in the case of this port though; those bugs were absolutely brutal and the lag was apparently not fixed after being advertised as such.

They fixed it in a very surprisingly timely manner it seems, and they deserve mad props for that, but let's not act as though the game was "fine".

Plus, Gaf isn't one person.

Thanks for the help guys. I'll go for the PC version once it goes cheaper on Steam.

On topic: I'm glad that it's getting patch up in a timely matter on PS4. I wasn't expecting it to be patched up till way later on.

Someone in the Street Fighter subreddit mentioned that this is still a problem. If true, this is kind of a big issue for a game like this right? Especially if it's supposed to be used in tournaments?

RE-quoting because I may have reacted wrong to your post.

You know what, "Gaf overreacts" aside, you make fair points. My bad on the previous post.

Its 17 dollars right now and it was on sale for 15 a few weeks ago. That's probably the cheapest its gonna get during the summer.

Oh yeah, I know it's cheap at the moment on Steam, but I'm gonna wait till it has a flash or daily sale. If not then I'll just get it on the last day of the Steam sales.

Ok, some people on Gaf*

Anyway you may have missed my point slightly, there was no overreaction in regards to how the community reacted to this port in the sense that it was indeed a ridiculously poor port and Sony and Capcom deserved all the backslash they got. The overreaction i mentioned was only about how some people made that fellow poster believe that this wouldnt get fixed in a year. Which was a ridiculous thing to suggest in a kneejerk reaction while the outrage was going on. Like i said if you stopped to think about it all the fixes were simple, but some people on gaf love to make extreme suggestions because on the internet extreme is the flavor of every day.

Edit: forgive me i was too hasty im my response i just saw your second post

Its all good (:
