New Pikmin 3 story mode gameplay (Centipede Boss Fight)

Miyamoto said he feels the Wii u was made for pikmin 3. I can't disagree with him. I don't think they'll ever be a single player experience that uses the wiimote/chuck + gamepad in such a useful way.

So many videos :(

I can't keep up with them all

It almost sounds like you're complaining...

Typical...Nintendo threads getting crapped on, as usual.

I really like all the Gamepad features and the game looks so beautiful, so fresh, cute and all and at the same time challenging, with an adorable dangerous world to deal with where predators are everywhere, impressives bosses... Lot of depth in all the areas. Mature gaming right here.

So an analog controller controls the on screen crosshair?

late reply, but if you're using the dual analog control scheme (gamepad/pro controller) then yes. But if you're using Wiimote + Nunchuck the pointer of the Wiimote is what's controlling the onscreen crosshair and the stick on the nunchuck controls movement.

37? It's like Nintendo isn't even trying with its marketing.

Anyway, as usual the game looks fantastic, can't believe in 2 days the Japanese will get to play this.

Woah really? For some reason I thought it was later in the year for everyone. Looks super charming.

This requires a Motion+ remote, right? I'm going to have to pick one up before it launches.

Hmm, from that Q&A it sounds like the Pikmin 2 caves are out and replaced by overworld "caves" where time continues as usual. Not sure how I feel about that yet, as I liked the extra exploration that they provided in stages, but I don't mind the time continuing as usual as that always bothered me in the 2nd game. Outside of that, everything else sounds pretty promising so far.

Yeah, the time-stopping thing in Pikmin 2 always bugged me too a bit.Made the days really feel suuuper long.

Can't wait for Pikmin 4 on Nintendo's next system where we finally get 4 playable characters and 1v1 online 2D map only multiplayer.

On a more serious note, it's about time I initiate the rest of my complete blackout mode now that full copies of the game are floating out there (or going to be very soon). Hope the game delivers to my reasonable hype, haha.

Loving all these gameplay videos and the glowing impressions. My hype for the game is really growing anything beyond what I expected. This time last year, I wasn't looking forward to this game at all.

On the fence...

Question.

I don't have a good sensor bar set up (Projector, I have a cheap wireless sensor bar but it sucks from more than 3 feet).

What are my options with this game? Do I buy a better wireless one? What are you folks doing?

Don't quote me on this, but I've read that you can use the Gamepad as a sensor bar when using the Wiimote+/Nunchuk/Gamepad control scheme.

You're right, :p

edit: wait wait wait. Got ahead of myself. You can do this for off-tv play. Not sure for what you proposed...

I don't think the sensor bar really matters all that much anyways even if you're using the wiimote. It uses motionplus similar to what was in Skyward sword so you can do the pointing and aiming without even using the sensor bar at all (or only for occasional calibration I guess).

Edit: And yeah, like the people above me have said you can use the Gamepad's sensor bar if it ever becomes an issue. It shouldn't though as I think the motion+ is sufficient.

Very excited for this game, can't wait. Never played a pikmin game so I'll pick up the older ones and play em after I best 3

Also the gamepad cradle is on sale at Amazon for $6 for basic set owners.

Whoa...did NOT know that.

Awesome.

Side note, does the GamePad work for all games as a sensor? Even in Wii mode???

Anyone able to confirm if the game runs in 30 or 60 frames? Apparently one site says it's 30, kinda weak since it is a Wii up-port (a really nice one, but still)...
