New Pokemon Sun and Moon trailer!

why are they walking like zombies lol

Oh.. lol... I'm on my phone and my phone is limited on what it can do but on the page before someone explains it towards the end. I can't quote it and quote you because of my phone can't do quotes from different pages.

In a nutshell. It has something to do with the Japanese young culture or some shit. That's them walking hard and thinking that they're going to fuck up Lance and his Dragonite.

I guess you could say that's their "Thug" walk.

I know. It looks weird to te western world but seems normal for Japan.

Will agree with you here. Can't speak for all women, but I personally also find the "waifu" and pervy discussion kind of annoying at times. Like... I get it, you like attractive female characters, but at least try to be less... transparent about it.

You should try having an Animal Crossing thread sometime. SO creepy :\

Gladion's theme is so gen 5 and I love it. Seeing Jangmo-o's evos and Silvally only made me want them more.

As always the new battle animations continue to impress.

Because she wears a lot of rocks?
Is that even a joke, or is that an intentional design thing?

I like all these Pokemon, a lot. I can see myself putting Tzareena and Kommo-o on my team, and maybe even trying them out competitively. Tzareena's "priority move block" ability is really interesting, and can make for a good slot in a team. Hopefully it's stats are up to snuff.

Haven't played pokemon in years (X & Y i think was the last one). This one looks amazing going by the trailers.

Do I need the "new" 3DS for this or what?

Nah you're good with a regular 3DS. From what I read it doesn't even use the 3D function this time around, even.

Anyway I'm not enamored with new Muk, its quite garish, though I get what they're going for.

Completely unsurprised that Silvally/Type: Null is an Arceus clone attempt. Also I still chuckle that people thought it was said "Ar-see-us" (though I realize that its said that way in Japan, apparently). I guess because I remember the latin classes I took and how C's in latin are hard C's, I always said Ar-kay-us.

Hi everyone. Here to share The One True Opinion:

First, all y'all you who don't like the Grass-type Lucina with the thigh boots, bow the fuck out. Game Freak finally listened to the letters I've been sending them. ...well, I actually asked for a dolphin wearing boots, but this will do!

And Kommo-o is quite possibly my favorite design yet. I love everything about it: Its design with the scale-mail, its concept (monk dragon!), its abilities, its unique move. Mercifully, its name is easier to remember and pronounce! WELCOME TO THE TEAM.

nope, they're even making a special edition 2ds, the game allegedly doesn't even have 3D functionality.

It'll play on all 2/3DS models. We don't even know if it'll be n3DS enhanced for performance at this point, though I'd hope so.

It has 3D during the Poke Finder segments (the picture taking stuff) but apparently performs very poorly with 3D enabled.

It's really annoying as a woman. You'd think threads about kids games would be one of the places you can go without guys acting like this.

Some of the stuff said in this thread goes past "a little pervy".
There was a thread about trainer sprites a couple of months ago and that also devolved into creepsville central. Parts of this fanbase are just lame.

I'll add my voice to this. I'm not in a Pokemon thread to read tons of posts on how hot a female character looks and how that makes you feel.

As a grass pokemon fan, I'm liking a lot of the ones shown from this region. Very ostentatious and showy, which makes sense for tropical plants.

Ya know, the background behind Olivia when she challenges you is dark brown/grey, as befitting of her rock type focus.

We already saw the background behind Hala too, which was sort of Orange/brown, which is usually associated with fighting

He certainly has a fighting look to him in my opinion.
Have we seen any of the pokemon he's used yet? (Aside from Tapu Koko)

The only other pokemon we've seen him use is a Crabawler which is fighting, too.

I just wish they weren't mono-grass type :/
Yeah, I'm loving the designs of the Grass-types — Lurantis and Tsareena are SO GOOD — but pure Grass-type is a bit boring. Hopefully their stat spread and move pool gives them some utility.

Hala is most likely a Fighting-type trainer, between his sumo stance and the fact he uses Crabrawler.

There's no rule that the island kahuna's speciality has to match the type of their island's guardian Pokemon.

So? It's not hurting anybody

Except it kind of is at the point it makes women in the Pokemon community feel uncomfortable and not want to participate, which has been pointed out by a few posters now. Why not save the lusting for private?

For what its worth, I've seen a good sized amount of people (both men and women) acting similarly about Sycamore last gen and Kukui this one.

Hell, as soon as either of those professors were released I saw people going "Oh thank god hot male professors at last!" sorta thing.

Not seeing much I like here in terms of new pokemon designs unfortunately :(

Kommo-o is particularly disappointing considering how promising Jangmo-o looked to me.

Let's hope there are a lot more new Pokemon than what they've shown so far... I've only really liked a few I've seen so far. The game looks great overall but the pokemon designs are one of the weaker of recent gens so far.

Yeah. That was mine.

Got weird after a while.

On topic, with all these new grass types and Solar Blade/Trop Kick, I wonder if GF is trying to carve out a niche for physical grass sweepers. The Rowlet 3rd evo seems like a really good candidate for this.

Grass types have piss poor defenses in terms of typing and Sceptile and Serperior are both Special oriented even if they meet the qualifications of being fast with a diverse movepool. The Rowlet 3rd evo would suffer a bit from it's flying secondary type, but it could a decent enough ability/movepool to give us a physical grass sweeper.

Does it make you feel uncomfortable when females and males say the same about the male characters like the professors?

I've never seen anyone complain when male characters get commented or lusted over.

Also, I get it. Some posters at times takes it too far.

When I first saw Olivia I said "I love her name and she is nice to look at."

That's my opinion. If that makes you feel uncomfortable I don't know what to say.

Note: I do know what to say but I don't know how to say it without sounding like a ass and the last thing I want is to unintentionally offend you or disrespect your stance on the subject. I do agree with you if posters get out of line.

Not usually. I think the context is usually pretty different, though; firstly because while the designs might be attractive, they aren't sexualized; and secondly because men don't have the same history of being sexualized and stripped of personhood in media, so it becomes easier to forgive things that walk the boundary. The very first camera shot we get of Olivia is a panning shot that starts at her legs and goes past her ass. There's never been a shot of Kukui or indeed any male character in the series like that.

That's absolutely fine. I actually really like her design (minus the heels - you ever tried walking on a beach in heels?), and don't have any problem with other people liking it as a design. What I don't like is a) the way the developers have chosen to treat and present that design, and b) the way that many posters have chosen to react to it.
