New previews for Dark Souls II

Didn't mean scaling but the fact that you cannot differentiate between armor that requires certain stats and one that requires a SL is worrying. Let me explain it for you.

If an armor had a requirement of 50 SL that means everyone at SL 50 would be able to wear it whereas one requiring a 20 STR would result in many even if they were SL 50 not being to wear it.

This is pretty condescending, the second part of his post clearly signified his understanding and that while the SL needed will vary there will be a requirement nonetheless.

Maybe you can two-hand the legs armor and thus reducing the str requirement by half~

Maybe there is a ring that gives you +5 str.

It's kinda wrong to say an armor has a SL requirement when it really only has stats requirement.

I read the whole interview in the Design Works artbook and Miyazaki really had a vision and direction he wanted to take Dark Souls into. I truly hope this director is just as passionate.

Yeah, you're right. Though there is an implicit SL requirement tied to having minimum stat requirements on gear, it certainly isn't the same as having an explicit SL requirement. That guy was just being a rude child but it is a-ok. 8)

It's refreshing to see journalists outside of RPS actually concerned about the integrity of a new installment in a franchise instead of them praising the latest dumbing down of a franchise. Wish this was around when Hitman: Absolution was coming out.

I wanted to read that, but is it spoilerly?

It is a bit, if you want absolutely no spoilers. He talks about the very beginning of the game. If you want to explore and find out about everything on your own I wouldn't read it.

It mostly just says that it still feels like Dark Souls, though since he's now a veteran to the series it feels more familiar than the others did.

Thanks I'll just avoid it.

Armor is tied to stats not level.
You need a higher level for better armor, but can still wear your starting gear.

And no pyro hand?
Pyro sorcery instead like in demon's souls?

Oh should have read the link. Nice job spreading misinformation on the rest of you guys :(

Hype restored.

If it honest to god is coming in March I don't see why we wouldn't have an actual solid release date at this point.

Hope for the best, prepare for the worst.

It's just a date listed on the website, not a definitive confirmation. It'll be time to panic If we still don't know the PC release date a day before the console games launch.

Dat hyperbole.

Ehhhhh maybe. I built my first rig in December and started playing DS on PC seriously a couple weeks ago. Since starting I'd say about 50% of my online interactions have been with hackers - some harmless, some not so harmless. It's all fun and games running around with a dude with a giant head until you get cursed/eggheaded by an invisible asshole. So it's basically my anecdote versus your's, but let's not pretend there's not a considerably large community of DS hackers on PC. Whether you've had good luck or I've had exceptionally poor luck is up to debate, but I've encountered enough in a small enough window of time to basically keep me away from online play on PC.

Really hoping DSII has some features in place to put a stop to most of this nonsense.

Dat total hyberbole. Every second invasion is not riddled with hackers, come on, lmao.

I'm not pretending that PC has no hackers, there are certainly more than on PS3, but 50% is absolutely ridiculous.

I don't understand - are you saying I'm lying? That I'm not remembering correctly?

The amount of hackers you run into on pc has a lot to do with what you're doing. If you're pvping in the township, you won't run into many hackers in my experience. On the other hand, if you're invading in Sen's, like every other person is a hacker.

I didn't do that much forest on pc but I kind of imagine there would be a lot of hackers there.

I remember watching a friend play on PC at Oolacile township. Thats a dedicated fighting area on PC right?

1 hour , 10 fights, 6 of them hackers.

I told him to get it on PS3. There are still hackers on PS3 no doubt, just try invading the forest and see how many you find, oh and did I mention they hack and gank -____-

Anyway I will be happy if anyone who hacks is forever banned from multi and not just their account but their game so to play online again they need to buy a new disc.

Don't be an ass, he very clearly stated that he was talking anecdotally about the couple weeks he'd spent playing the game

I'm still 50-50 on doing this for my 360 or my PC.

I'm still majorly bummed at no PS4 port. I would've gladly waited for it. :(

My gaming PC while probably able to run this at full, has a crappy controller I use which can deter me away from a game like Dark Souls. I also don't feel like investing money into a different controller or one of those items that lets me use a wireless 360 one for it.

My other issue is that my gaming PC is hooked up upstairs for the bedroom and I have to play from the bed laying down or doing hunchback attacks. :( ... I guess I'll have to go with pleab 360 version.

Anyone got an opinion on why I would want to suffer with back pain for this one to play it on my PC ?

Do you surf the web with a hunchback?

Why don't you just use your DS4 on your PC?

From Soft has a history of exaggerating things and even outright lying when they're trying to keep a secret. They have no shame. I wouldn't worry.

The wait.

It's killing me.

Need this game. I think my favorite graphical change is the way cloth moves around your character. Effing gorgeous. It's really gonna make alot of the robe/dress style armor sets not look so plastic and crappy.

I don't understand - are you saying I'm lying? That I'm not remembering correctly?

I don't know if you're misremembering, exaggerating, confusing lag or good play for hacking, or just the unluckiest person on earth.
I'm just saying that the PC version of Dark Souls is not "filled to the brim with hackers" or that "50% of online interactions are with hackers". Come on, that's ridiculous.

How am I being an ass? Anecdotally or not, it's just not true that every second person who participates in online play is hacking, lol. If I had to guess, I'd say that 1 out of 20 is hacking, probably way less than that.

I don't know if it's possible with a 360 controller, but I use MotionInJoy and my Dual Shock 3 for pretty much every game on PC. Might wanna check out if that's an option for you.

When did I claim either of those things?

Or are you confusing "50% of my interactions were with hackers during this set period of time" for "50% of all DS players on PC are hackers"?

Or maybe he is just saying what he experienced lol.

Numbers pulled from your ass is not helping. We can only speak from our experience just as you can speak from yours. Neither of our experiences accurately represents what someone may experience either.
