Carmageddon and Total Overdose 2 were officially mentioned by SCi...
I thought Eidos (IO Interactive) was working on Freedom Fighters 2?
Guitar Hero in January/February won't happen.
There are SingStar Rocks! and Buzz 2 coming, yes.
EA's updates are a given.
Arena Football, there were even screens for it already, right?

Freedom Fighters 2, OH YEAH.

And Total Overdose is one I'm interested in taking a closer look at - the demo I played seem like a fun mix of bullet time with OTT MexiCAN themes. Anyone play the first one through? Impressions?

I still remember this certain PR telling us how Cold Winter was going to be "the best FPS on PS2"

Yeah right.

I am cool with Carmageddon as far as:

a)Hits the PC

b)It is not a console port

c)Features the same mindblowing level design of the first one

Total Overdose 2 is definately coming. Apparently the contract had been signed even before the release of the first one. A PSP version is also rumoured to be on the way.

As for Carmageddon, Eurogamer reported back in August, that SCi had halted the in-progress development of it.

In that case, it'll probably suck, since the original developers (IO Interactive) are now a part of SCI/Eidos.

Isn't this like saying "There will be some sequels!"?

Not really, it being substantiated with (possible) release dates makes the information more important than just saying "There will be some sequels"

I believe Dark Cloud 3 rumor when I see it. I remember last year some of the 1up crew hinting Dark Cloud 3 would be shown at E3 2005 and nothing materialized. Game not actually in developent or....did it get moved to another platform? :) Dark Cloud came out relatively early in the PS2 lifecycle. Dark Cloud 3 near the PS3 launch would make me giddy.

They're currently working on a game they say is the successor to True Fantasy Online. Looks like it'll be on either the PS3 or PSP.

oh God, Dark Cloud 3

that would be so awesome if it was for PS3. Then I'd start getting excited

but no, no. I don't believe this news :|

Dark Cloud was a PS2 JP launch title, wasn't it? I never played that or DC2, although I thought DC2 was a disappointment to fans of the first. I wouldn't mind seeing DC3 on the PS3. I mean, 2 games that didn't sell all that well on the PS2, and they want to make a third? WTF? PEACE.

Heck no! Dark Cloud 2 is, to me, like PS2s "Pikmin." The first game showed potential but was held back by a dozen or so major problems. Then the sequel comes along and fixes every single problem AND then some, and decides to put a dash of fuck awesome on top of it.

I feel the same way about Pikmin 2.

No fucking shit...

immediately followed by...

Analyst Zacks has listed Electronic Arts as a 'Strong Sell' following reduced guidance from the company in recent weeks, and collapsing analyst confidence.
Zacks points to EA's own reduced guidance for its Q3 and Q4 as well as average analyst profits guidance, which has dropped from $1.50 to just over a dollar in the last few weeks.

EA is currently trading at 53.35. It's 12-month high was 71.16 (in April). The company has warned of reduced revenues and profits.

THIS BETTER COME TRUE.

Rygar was awesome and I've been wanting a sequel to it for a while now. Even though I'd much rather see it on a next gen console, I'd have no problem with it being on the PS2. :)

They said they were.

They also did not weigh in on the Freedom Fighters sequel, which was revealed in another presentation last month. According to that presentation, Eidos will distribute the follow-up to Io Interactive's alternate-history tactical shooter in the first half of its financial year 2006, which would mean the latter part of 2005.

I'm guessing that the magazine is mistaken.

The new Singstar is "Singstar Rockz"?? Hell fucking yeah!!

And can't wait for Guitar Hero - Those 2 make a mighty fine combination :)

huh? where did you read that? there was also a rumor, that sony might release a singstar: christmas. but it never happened - when i asked a spokesperson, i looked very surprised. maybe at the end of 2006? but a rock singstar would be really cool.

Totally agreed. I loved the original, but if the next one isn't on next gen consoles I'm not even going to bother with it.

They must get this right. This could be so badass. I could see the controls working just like the N64 version.
OX-Tri-Squ move
Analog aims

R/L triggers for fire and jump.

I already want a PSP(my brothers is hot shit). If they got Turok right with a price drop I wouldn't have any choice.

I do not believe this.

According to L5 they're switching their focus to the PS3 starting this year, so it'd seem like that.
Maybe L5 isn't making it? Sony's jumped development houses before on their RPG series (WildARMs, Alundra, Arc the Lad).

Just to expand on that...

Wild ARMS = MediaVision
Wild ARMS: 2nd Ignition = Contrail
Wild ARMS: Advanced 3rd = MediaVision
Wild ARMS: Alter Code F = MediaVision
Wild ARMS: The 4th Detonator = MediaVision

Alundra = Matrix Software
Alundra 2 = Contrail

Arc the Lad = G-Craft
Arc the Lad II = G-Craft
Arc the Lad III = Arc Entertainment
Arc the Lad: Seirei no Koukon = Cattle Call
Arc the Lad: Generation = Cattle Call

Dark Cloud = Level 5
Dark Chronicle = Level 5
Dark Odyssey = ???

Man, it feels like Guitar Hero will really be released in Europe now...I had my doubts before. Been sooo close to getting the US version, too bad you need a big peripheral to play it properly. :(

And how could Level 5 possibly release Dark Cloud 3 for PS3 this summer? They just recently finished Rogue Galaxy...do they really have a team that's big enough to work on two time-demanding projects simultaneously? 'Cause otherwise, I highly doubt they'll be able to learn the ins and outs of PS3 and develop a game with the complexity and depth of Dark Cloud 3 in like 7-8 months.

What jarrod said makes sense, but that would also make me sad. :/

Only news that matter:

1) Guitar Hero in Europe (I'll be able to get the second guitar for multiplayer)
2) Singstar Rocks! <--- OH YEAH!
