New PS4 owner, first time PS owner

inFamous, Killzone, Resogun and Transister should keep you busy for awhile. Also Sound Shapes is really fun if you haven't played it yet.

It's an awesome system! If you like sports games get MLB the Show, but only if you don't care about online play, it's an awesome game. Avoid NBA 2K14 it looks pretty but that's it. Resogun is awesome! Tomb Raider is pretty good too if you haven't played it yet.

As others have said Resogun is great, but what they didn't say is that it is no longer free and only has 5(?) levels, which for £12, is not great, even if the challenge remains (Some thing are REALLY hard to do).

I paid for it, and find it is more than worth the price tag. To each their own I guess.

This thread is a little bit depressing for how barren next generation choices are at the moment. There are a ton of great things in the pipeline though, it just needs a little more time to build up some solid heavy hitters.

For me, I enjoyed Second Son despite it having some very evident flaws and tripping up a bit near the end. It's also got some really interesting looking DLC coming up that's supposed to have a large scale, so keep your eyes peeled! Everyone recommending The Last of Us HD is doing you a huuuge solid, really, don't miss it.

Hopefully Gamescom and TGS will give you even more to be excited for soon! I've never had a PlayStation let me down.

Oh it's surely a great game, but I'm not generally a fan of paying a tenner or more for a couple of hours at best. I loved Journey, but still felt a bit ripped off. Just thought it was worth mentioning as most people will have grabbed it for free, and because the content included is not great in volume.

I found DC Universe Online a fun co-op game. F2P as well. FFXIV maybe as well? Warframe never grabbed me but some love it.

For indies, Resogun, FEZ and Transistor for sure. Dead Nation, Child of Light, Awesomenauts, Towerfall Ascension, Sports Friends, Don't Starve, Outlast, Pixeljunk Shooter, Flower you should at least check out.

I'd recommend Infamous Second Son even though it's single player only, just because it's fun as hell.

KILLZONE shadow fall was disappointing but the upcoming co-op dlc does look pretty good.

The live on PlayStation app is really cool, tons of people streaming so you can check out any new game that comes out and see if it grabs you.

Great thread, was going to post a similar one.

I had a master plan to sell the 360 and games for a ps4 in late Oct/Nov. I'm a huge racing game guy, and wanted one for DC and pCARS.

The wife jumped the gun and bought me one for Father's Day. Now I don't know what to play until then. Skipped AC3&4, stopped playing BF and COD years ago.

How's NFS:Rivals? Worth it?

I'm REALLY hoping MotoGP14 is region free next week, but haven't heard yes or no. They all were for ps3, so hopefully this is too. It's not set to release in NA until late fall if ever (Milestone games get pushed back here forever, or never released for xbox).

I've got a PS+ membership ready to go too.

Infamous SS worth it too then?

Well, I did, lol. and I know about the free PS+ games. Every month?

Thats okay. I figured that might've been the case, but BF4 is going to keep me busy with my friends, also Destiny Alpha. What about Playstation store and indie games?

Transistor, Outlast, Towerfall: Ascension, Child of Light, Resogun, Infamous: Second Son, Watch Dogs, Lego Marvel Super Heroes, Tomb Raider: DE.

Can't go wrong w/ those ^

If you really like Playstation, then I'd highly recommend getting Playstation Plus and finding a deal for a PS3 somewhere cheap. Tons of fantastic games per month, and you can build a catalog at a very fast rate.

Final Fantasy 14 is great for multilayer, cross play with the PC too. It does have a monthly sub fee though.

Oh and yeah get PLUS, it's actually worth it.

Get Trials: Evolution. It´s a fun update on the classic formula and looks stunning in native 1080P resolution. Also good call on getting PS+, it´s great value and this months free game (Trine 2) would easily be worth buying at full price too!

Welcome to the Playstation side. I recommend you consider a Vita and/or a PS3 as you have PS+ (good move). The PS4 is still very early in its life cycle and you cannot get a complete Playstation experience on the PS4, yet.

Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeros is like US$18 (deal ends today), which is pretty good value for a great (albeit very short) game.

If you haven't downloaded Resogun yet, do yourself a favor and get that quick. It's a great arcade experience. Child of Light is a beautiful game but I can see it not appealing to everybody.
