New Red Steel 2 pictures

Do you guys not remember the bullshots from the first game? :lol

If it actually looks that good in game It'll be IMO the best looking Wii game.

We've seen the game already running at 60fps so those screens aren't hard to believe. I really liked the feel of the guns/pistols in the first one so I hope they get that right again. Also love the colors here and the environments have a nice bit of stuff scattered around now.

The game looks amazing and anyone saying otherwise is simply wrong.

Now, how the game looks is the least of my concerns (lol Ubisoft). I'll keep doubting it until the retail copy ships.

I hope the close-combat ninjas aren't all that tough to beat, he didn't even land a hit on him. He had to knock his ass of a cliff to get past him. I liked how the ninja just danced around the gunshots, though.

"Following your enemy half-way across the desert.."

Holy shit - he said the magic words. I really hope there are more Dark Tower parallels.

Also, it's pretty hilarious that this looks better than Borderlands. That's what happens when you decide to switch up an art style halfway through development.

Glad I wasn't the only one to catch that.

Very interesting video. I now support any and all delays if it means improving on the already impressive game we're seeing here

Looks a lot better than at E3, but the blinking bodies ("blink before you die") piss the hell out of me.

glad to see I'm not the only one. What the hell gave them the idea that was even remotely passable?

I see it as a reference to classic games. I think Double Dragon did that. I think it's intentional. Whether you like it or not is another matter of course.

Wow Amazing! Hope they make the controls a little more "complex". People complained that wasn't true 1:1 swordplay control, even with the Motion+, maybe they can make it at least a little better, like adding high and low attacks and not just diagonal and straight.

They accent the cartoon feeling with thicker borders do they? The first time I saw this months ago it was like, mmmh... alright, now I'm really looking forward to it. I hope they get rid off the neon sky blue color in the back of the jacket protagonist.

They get rid off of the silly neon sign from the jacket.

Thanks for hear me Ubisoft :D

He didn't actually IIRC. It looked as though he was trying to do that but then the blow that would have knocked him off killed the guy and the flashing death animation is just visible on the edge of the cliff. But the dying model obviously has no physics because most of his body is off the edge and yet the body just sort of floats in mid-air, thinking it it's on the ground.

IIRC.

Looks great - as usual, I'd wait to see it in motion first.

Loving the style of the game though! :D

You realize we've seen it in motion many times? Even a new gameplay video earlier in this thread?

fuckdi duckdi fuck fuck . I just saw the video , Game looks amazing. Can not wait.It has two type on Ninjas. Any game is better with one Ninja. Compare this to cod:mw

People at E3 have seen it in motion, and there's been quite a bit of direct feed footage on the net. If there is bullshottery in those screens it's been kept to a bare minimum.

Looks great. Hopefully it plays at least as well as Wii Sports Resort swordfighting. I mean really, is it too much to ask that a full fledged retail game plays as well as 1 minigame from a Nintendo made compilation?

I'm betting a tenner they're (1280x)720p screens at half the resolution, which gives us that odd 640x360 resolution. Which would mean that they are bullshots. The motion blur doesn't even matter, as soon as they downscale a huge (4x the pixels) image they are trying to sneak something by us.
Good old Super Sampling. In an ideal world all games would use it.

Still hate the enemy design. No Ubisoft, you're not clever for mixing cowboys and samurais, especially with those ugly hockey masks.

I'm sure they'll find a way to make the sword mechanics suck too. I don't even get the point of wanting so desperately to make an FPS with both guns and swords. If you're going to reboot a game like Ubisoft did with this sequel, you might as well go for what was supposed to be its original appeal: the sword fighting. It's not like getting the gameplay right for motion controls is easy. Judging by the footage, a first-person viewpoint isn't an elegant design choice for that either. Why not 3rd person?

Trailer looks very nice. Some of the arm animations felt a bit rushed in their movements but they got plenty of time to polish things like that.

Now I just hope the sword fighting parts work well unlike the first one. but game play parts of the video gives me hope.
