New Resident Evil 6 info [Up: Even More Details]

The new guy really is something heh?

Is bald, has a scar, is a merc, is young and irreverant and thinks he's cool. New gen people to the rescue!

I hope this new character rocks Beats by Dr. Dre™ headphones, uses an iPad™ for his inventory, wears a scarf for no reason, prescription glasses that aren't actually prescription, skinny jeans, and spouts one liners after every headshot.

Finally a protagonist for the new generation. THANKS, CAPCOM.

Fedora dlc day 1? Just for extra douchieness.

Although, konami, plz don't break the one-fedora rule with Co-op.

J'AVO

The BSAA named these creatures after the Serbian word for "demon;" they're even more dangerous than the typical zombie, and are capable of understanding speech and coordinating attacks. That said, they're still mutated monstrosities, so they're not exactly calm or collected when it comes to tactics.

When injured, a J'avo can regenerate itself, but doing so leaves the body prone to further mutation. The arm above probably started off as a usual appendage, but Chris' attacks have caused the J'avo to step up his game. From a gameplay perspective, this offensive, possibly unpredictable power will change the way you approach enemies.

Im from Serbia, and Capcom made mistake with their "J'avo" translation. :)

Our world "djavo" is transtated to devil, not demon. We have dedicated word for demon [it is spelled same as in english, but we speak it in a different way].

Thats a little mistake compared to what did Capcom to Galicia in Spain in RE4.
They used Pesetas (old spanish currency) instead of euros, the pesetas were showed as gold bricks (lol), and the Galicians spoke as if they lived in Mexico.

A little more research of other countries would not be bad for Capcom.

Takes place after Resident Evil 5, which takes place after Revelations.

Maybe Chris found out about
Jessica's
betrayal which set him off being all pissed and shit.

That doesn't make sense. If that was the case,
Chris would have felt angst and distrust against Sheva during 5 and what's funny is that there was no mention of Chris having hatred towards Jessica in Revelations (Total retcon). Obviously at the end of 5 He finds Jill and kills Wesker and he seemed pretty happy at the end. I hope that those RE 5 commercials are canon. This would mean that Chris has held a grudge against Jessica for a long time even after he was reunited with Jill.

I would say the no mention in
5 is because Jessica had no involvement in that incident, so its not really a retcon. also once Chris knew Wesker was involved he would have his full attention. But if her actions in 6 are bad then of course he would be mad/blame himself.

Someone suggested on another site Jill has a miscarriage as the trauma lol, do it Capcom...

I agree with you there. It would be a boon to the old school fans.

About that new Chris's "trauma", maybe something related to Claire this time? Something with Jill again would be too much...

man, I'd be pissed if they just killed Claire off to give Chris more motivation.

Then again, this is RE. She's probably being turned into some super-human asskicking Matrix king-fu grip that has to be fought in the last half of the game, at which point you help her regain her sanity and she assists in getting to the final battle. HUUUZAH!

I think people are putting too much thought on the whole Chris's personal vendetta thing. It's just going to be a over hyped cop out. He most likely just got some no named dude killed off screen or whatever blah blah blah.

I'm still ticked that Revelations dropped the Chris turning against Jill bit in the Revelations announcement trailer. Never happened in the actual game.

And is it me or does the guy who holds Chris back telling him not to have a personal vendetta look just like the new leader on the Operation Raccoon City Spec Ops team. They look so alike.

Wait is Helena the chick everyone thought was Ashley?

No she is Leon's partna.

I think
that just developed into the Parker Jessica Raymond thing, really Chris turning on Jill pre5 would be very hard to buy

Yeah he does even has a similar style shemagh(scarf).

You'll be able to move slowly left and right while holding your gun, and perform such moves as 180 degree turn, quick front/back/side evade, covering and so-forth.

Uhmm yeah...someone just confirm to me exactly what this is. Can I run and gun or no?

I'll stay with dead space

I'm so feeling this right now.

He and Jill should be in their late thirties, early forties, in RE6. That and fighting monsters your whole life will get some grey goin'.

They really has a chance to make Resident Evil 5 an amazing experience just by expanding what we've seen in RE4. Unfortunately that didn't happen; we got a great action game instead, with little to no horror elements. Now RE6 is just another typical western game.

While they're aiming to bring back the feeling of horror with the game, this isn't an attempt to return the series back to its origins.
Bullshit

The game's third main character is meant to be someone young people can relate to.
wtf?

sigh

Classic undead return, but even these guys have stepped up their game. As seen in the trailer, some have figured out weapons can expose precious brain matter quicker than teeth and nails, while others are content to leap at you with ravenous intent.
bullshit

Zombies using weapons is possibly the dumbest thing ever. If you can't figure out how to make zombies worthwhile enemies, then don't put them in the game. Obviously, they don't fit in your game.

If it's like Revelations (and I see no reason why it wouldn't be), then it's like Dead Space: Hold LT to draw your gun, and while your gun is drawn, you can move slowly.

I don't think you're gonna be running and gunning, but you're not running and gunning in Dead Space either.

ZOMBIES

How... is this even possible? Zombies can't hold anything (well, probably objects like brooms or rakes) at least guns.

Depends. :p
At least on movies, the concept of slow/brain-eating zombies has been dead for years; in favor of:
-Agile zombies that can run and jump
-Intelligent zombies, that figured out how to do stuff (weapons, swim, planning)
-Combinations of both of those

At least in the RE movies (though a different/separate cannon), they kinda explained that Umbrella continued experimenting with zombies and through combinations of electroshock, parasites and other ways they could make zombies to try to get some of their motor skills back. They all ended in full rage, so the experiments in that aspect failed; but ended creating faster and stronger zombies.

Haha so they are indeed zombies with weapons. And people were saying they were obviously terrorists in the trailer. My god Capcom how low can you get.

Well considering Revelations is the best Resident Evil in years its safe to say it is.

Eh, mostly by default though, since RE5 is its only competition over the past 7 years. It's a pretty solid game, but it's still a "Survival Horror For Dummies" experience ala the "scary" parts of RE4, or the Lost in Nightmares DLC for RE5. There are many aspects of Revelations that simply have no business being in that type of game.

They're aiming to make it a Resident Evil that is enjoyable to control, with a revamped control scheme. You'll be able to move slowly left and right while holding your gun, and perform such moves as 180 degree turn, quick front/back/side evade, covering and so-forth.
Sounds promising.

I wonder what audience Capcom are about to target with this. The dudebro demographic probably doesn't care if they don't feature a bald protagonist and old school fans seem to be disgruntled by the direction Capcom are taking with the series.

Hopefully the length comments indicates a kind of zapping system. I want the order I choose to play the characters in to affect the game's flow.

One question I'm very curious about is: who gets to fight the final boss? I don't think it'd be Chris or Jill if she shows up. It's a split between Leon and New Guy for me...

Sonic Adventure style. Every character has a last boss, then the final mission involves rotating between all three.

I have been thinking about the trailer and the fact that it is going to have a cover system. And if they make it that being in cover does not make you 100 percent safe and there are crazy enemies that pull you out of cover like in the trailer then I would be ok with it. I would also be ok with the new guy having no weapons his entire story and you just use crazy mele moves.

yeah, or they all have some particular skill that can hurt a big gooey tentacled final boss, or something, and it all culminates in a totally badass and super cool quicktime event in which the new bald guy stabs the boss with an electric guitar
