I can't believe you missed the Hentai appreciation thread.

I seriously don't like either anime nor hentai. The only anime show I have seen is Full Metal Panic and the only anime movies I have seen are Ninja Scroll and Wonderful Days. The ds thread was a joke...

yeah they made one on Playstation called "Disruptor"

http://www.gamerankings.com/htmlpages2/197133.asp

After that they stopped making mature games and moved on to Spiro the Dragon...

This game will definitely rock, there is no need for hope or praying here... I am pretty sure it will be PS3's GOTY. BTW Ted Price said in an interview not that long ago that there is a great variety in enemy design so I don't think we have to worry about bland enemy designs....the enemies will get bigger and tougher as the game goes on IIRC

btw its SPYRO the dragon and not SPIRO ;P

lolwot
my head hurts :(

BTW I just checked out the music samples...they seem real. The composer is the same as Ratchet & Clank series. But this music sounds familiar

Pretty talented? :lol these guys simply rock however the art in most of their games sucks shit! Take the R&C games for example: decent environments but crap character design. Resistance: uninspired environments with total craptacular/generic art design. But their games are fun to play...

Insomniac = Bad Art Good Gameplay

I AWAIT YOUR MELTDOWN

It's familiar because it's from freakin' Einhander, not Resistance: Fall of Man :lol :lol

I started listening to Resistance: Sample III and i'm like "what the heck, they got the Einhander soundtrack on this bitch" hahaha

They still have those...
They have a bunch of different kinds of Chimera...
They said it in an interview...

O RLY?

That's a different story then. I'd prefer those as the main chimerans though, the ones we've seen just look comical in large numbers. They might be threatening if they weren't so repititious

Needs more epic orchestra stuff though. They need to epic it up.

ya you are right.

I just checked out the entire Einhander soundtrack only the third sample is from Einhander and its called "Badlands" Dunno about the first two samples

I hope the experiments don't turn out to be Jewish people. :lol

It's no Halo, as far as music goes. It seems more like Metroid Prime's tracks

That's EINHANDER music, not Resistance.

ALSO, if they turned out to be Jewish people that'd be too ****ed up for words :lol :lol

err World War II never takes place in the Resistance universe. Like another user said earlier the game probably starts off with Tunguska incident.

Because WWII never happened, does that mean Jews never happened or something :lol

I won't be getting a PS3 till next year, but I can't wait to play this. The game is looking awesome, and with Insomniac handling the game you know it'll play great. Possibly game of the year if Crackdown slips into 2007.

Youre probably right. They're probably Chinese people then :lol

Pfffttt...with Resistance's premise, it could be the Jewish.....

......and everyone else that get's in the chimera's way. :P

Great Britain is like one of the last strongholds of humanity and all.

If you watch the E3 2006 trailer you can see that the invasion actually begins in Russia or the Pacific Ocean near Japan...slowly it cover all of Europe and Middle East.

The storyline probably revolves around the Tunguska incident where a comet or an asteroid exploded over a forest somewhere in Russia. My guess is that Insomniac replaced the comet with an UFO. UFO explodes > aliens get pissed > send mother ship to earth > start converting humans to Chimera....

I don't think the US has been invaded yet, at least it hasn't been mentioned yet.

I don't think it is yet, but the US is in this battle of course fighting off the Chimera's conquest of the rest of Europe and thus the world, that teaser trailer showed them spreading off from Russia to the rest of the world. Even if World War 2 didn't happen, this is whole other kind of world war 2.

Yeah, I thought that was a really neat trailer. All eerie and ominious of lossing nearly all communications from those parts of the world.

Yeah the Chimera are probably communists though, not Fascists.

A powerful proprietary rendering engine allows a greater variety of highly detailed and interactive environments resulting in an immersive console FPS experience. Experience the chaos of large, crowded battlefields and tense close combat within infested military command centers and decimated urban landscapes based on real locations in Great Britain.
This is what excites me the most, huge environments and non-linear gameplay. If Insomniac can capitalize on this alone then I think they have a huge hit on their hands.

The concept is definately far from generic also. I mean, your fighting in 1921 with futuristic unique weaponary and you've got an invasion of aliens. How is that generic. How many first person shooters have mixed these different scenarios together?

Resistance could be the real Halo 2.

By that I mean huge sprawling enviroments like the original Halo. Halo 2 went to too many tight corridors.

The huge enviroments is what helped make Halo great. You felt like you were on this huge planet moving around with some freedom. If Resistance can take this idea to the next level it'll easily move to the top ecehlon of FPS shooters.

And vehicles. Vehicles!!!

corridors make for sooo much better FPS multiplayer. the wide open spaces feel more like mindless dm to me instead of the intense run and gun that can be found with tighter, more enclosed map designs.

Actually I believe the game takes place in the 50's.

Holy shit I completely thought you just meant it was really similar, but I nearly lost my drink when I realized it is the exact track from Einhander. I can see the damn cop robots flying out in front of me and pulling out those huge guns. That's too awesome! :lol :lol :lol

It must be the same composer... right? If not, huge kudos to Insomniac; Einhander has a brilliant OST. Maybe we'll get even more tracks in Resistence! :lol

Man I love the third track, set it to a level where you are running through corridors chased by chimera and it'b be ace.

:lol The actual soundtracks where the "samples" come form are there in the ID3 tags. Which stupid douche made this retarded attempt at a fake?

i agree, most alien encounters in video games usually take place in modern or futuristic times.

i hope we get some good 'alien' weapons as WW2 weapons were only avail at the time

From what i've read (I may be mistaken) the scenario is in out 1950 but the culture and technology is differen or something. Unless the weaponary that we've been hearing about is the actual "Alien" technology.

There are some alien weapons in the game, as well as the spider mech.
