New rule for aging rockstars...

I know people rag on Tyler for looking like he does, but a lot of that has to do with his hair. If he'd go for a crewcut or something it'd take a lot of his mattyness away.

Older dudes just don't tend to look good with longer hair.

I'm pretty sure the love interest in that video looks to be 10 years younger than his actual daughter!
Steven Tyler is dating Aimee Preston who is said to be younger than his youngest daughter, so she could be ten years younger than Liv.

Jeff Bridges disagrees. Although he never had more than shoulder length.

Your rules stink and seem inheringly sexist and condescending in their own right. In the name of the law, being an adult is being an adult, but you make a distinction between women in their 20's and those that are in their 40's and 50's. Would a distinction have to be made with men in their 20's vs men in their 40's and 50's?

I will also like to add, plenty of awesome, good looking 50-65 years old ladies walking all over the place. If i were an old age rocker, i would probably get Jewel, Marisa Tomei, Jennifer Connelly and Roisin Murphy to be in my video clips and not kids. Good times and will probably sell even more records because of the women i choose to use in those videos.

Ok, let me address something. I'm not jealous, I'm a straight female (I don't understand why some one doesn't see the nick "tigress" which is a female tiger and not figure out I'm female.... ).

Secondly, I don't actually mind a 60 year old and a 20 year old if they are truly in love. But I admit it does look a little creepy on the outside (and when we are talking a music video which is pure image... we're not talking about a couple who is in live but just an image portrayed).

What I am annoyed at by this, is it is just another obvious example that you cannot show a female older than 20 in a music video/tv show/movie that you are trying to protray as sexy. Even when you are pairing them off with some one that looks like he could be her grandfather so that it looks creepy and just makes the rock star look like a creepy old man. Some how you still have to have a 20 year old!!! For the person accusing me of effectively being an SJW (without saying it), he's probably got me pinned more correctly than the rest of you honestly on what annoyed me.

I mean, some how looking 30 or even 40 is just too old. And yet guys are ok to look sexy even at 60 (though I admit Steven Tyler does still look good for his age, but I've always liked how he looks. And he does have a look that ages well.).

The people who interpreted it as she is supposed to be love... well, I guess I could see that. There is the whole interpretation thing. Just usually with rock videos like this it's the rock star getting the girl so that's how I interpreted it and they didn't really do a very obvious job of it being different if that was their goal.

Women in their 20's tend to be sexier than women in their 40's. If i'm Steven Tyler why would I go with women who are older and less sexy vs women who are in their prime? Your rules and suggestions blatantly ignore reality on what most men find attractive in the service of promoting your ideology that "older women are just as sexy, why cant they be objectified too?"

Imagine if what you're asking was applied to the reverse: an older woman with similarly older men. Which is more of a fantasy fulfillment for the woman? Being surrounded by middle aged men who may be out of shape and not in their prime, or being surrounded by 20's something men each looking like an underwear model with six pack abs and chiseled features?

You sound jealous. Why don't you worry about yourself instead of the relationships other ADULTS are in?

The rest of Aerosmith? I think they were sick of him.

Is this an old video?

Aerosmith is out on tour this summer. They were in my town just a few weeks ago. All these middle aged proper moms on my Facebook page were going nuts and dressing like they were 18 years old for the concert.

I agree OP. If Madonna should stop grinding on a pole and stop trying to be "young", rockstars should start checking their AARP cards and remember they are old af too and not "young" any more and leave that shit alone. Start casting younger adults to be with younger adults in the video and just stay in the background. Double standards and all, these gimmicks are tacky and disgusting when they shouldn't have to do this anymore in their years. Kill it tbh

No. Just continue to do whatever the marketing teams tell you generates the most views. The music business isn't a charity.

Honestly, Hollywood all the time portrays older men as sexy. That's part of the whole annoying part, it's a double standard. Females have to look young to be pretty while guys can be portrayed as older and sexy.

On top of that, in general to be in a video/movie/sitcom females have to be pretty where as it's ok to have ugly guys. So it's a death knell for a female actor to turn 30 (or at least not be able to make themselves look 20). And you do realize a lot of this is also cultural standards taht have been ingrained in us, right?

No, it's not. But it won't change either if people don't point it out. Same as why gaming won't change about not having female characters if no one complains. Why change if it works?

Or alternatively we could work to where our culture doesn't view age on either side as "ugly" and realize you can be older and still look good (I fully admit, Steven Tyler still does look good in that video). That a female being older than 20 can still be sexy (I say female cause in general with guys they don't have this issue near as much. A 40 year old guy can still easily be considered sexy). That a female doesn't have to be near jailbait to be hot.

I don't think married men across western culture suddenly find their wives unattractive at 30 years old or even 40 years old. Since men are typically somewhat older (probably 3-10 years) in most relationships, their spouses continuously look young to them by comparison.

It's annoying enough that all females must be 20 something and young in your videos.

All around the age of
40
, all still incredibly sexy:

I guess what I'm saying is, if you're just listening to new people, of course they're going to be young. That's why they're new.
Try listening to better music :þ

If I had to choose between anonymous hot girl who's 40 or anonymous hot girl who's 25, I'd choose the 25-year-old.

Hmm, that's tough. At 38 I definitely find some 40-somethings attractive, but my wife is 31 and I have some friends in their 20s that ain't ugly.

Frankly hot is hot in my book.

And I agree... but I just wish Hollywood would too. Instead it's usual for them if they want to portray a sexy female to go to some 20 something. Hell, even insist that females have to look good/hot by their standards and insist in general that most females portrayed be that young or look that young.

Older men are portrayed as sexy through traits that aren't exclusively about their looks: chrasmia, confidence, money, power, etc because that's what women largely find attractive in a man. These are traits that often don't go away as men age, and usually manifest themselves even more as men age. Hence why older men in hollywood can appear sexy and attractive despite having gray hair, being slightly out of shape, etc. Most men don't place confidence, achievements, charisma, how much money a woman has, etc very high on attractive traits in a woman. How many 20 year old something dudes do you see end up with a 80+ year old billionaire woman? None that I know of but the reverse is so pervasive that it's essentially a cliche at this point.

There's never been a single dude in history that looks at a 10/10 hot stunning women, and turns her down because "well she wasn't very confident" or "she said something stupid." It doesn't happen because we largely, biologically and evolutionary speaking, just want something that looks pretty that we can fuck. Not many dudes, especially here, will admit that to a woman but it's the truth.

Ah yes, the old "you only think this way because culture" argument. Biologically speaking, it makes much more sense for men to be more attracted to women who are fertility in their prime vs women in their 40's. This isn't culture telling me that older women aren't as attractive as women in their 20's.

Spice girls are looking good, but the women in their 60's don't look sexy. They look old and fat, the woman on the right in the last photo looks alright but I can hardly tell. Sorry if that makes me a bad person. Honestly, how many men would you expect to take the 60 year old women you call "sexy" over women in their 20's that are by most definitions "hot as fuck"? This is why you see more women in their 20's in music videos vs the women in your post who are 60+. This isn't an "issue" that needs rules and changing, it's reality that men find younger women more attractive than 50+ year old women.

Steven Tyler isn't sexualizing himself in the same way that Madonna does. The two aren't remotely comparable because Madonna is sexualizing herself the same way she was 20+ years ago. You want to know why you see hot 20 year old gilrs in music videos vs 50+ aged women? There's your reason.

Ok, new rule. It's annoying enough that all females must be 20 something and young in your videos.. But if you are going to insist you can't have older females in your music video and you look old enough to be their father (and can't be made to not look that old), then you need to have them as your daughter and not love interest. It gets creepy otherwise. Otherwise, at least get females who look old enough that it doesn't look like you are a creepy old man by trying to go after them. Honestly, there are plenty of good looking 30 and 40 year olds... is it that horrible to actually get a female who looks more appropriate for your age and doesn't look like she should be your daughter/grandaughter?

This message brought to you after watching Steven Tyler's new video:
http://stevntylr.co/loveisyournamevevo

I'm pretty sure the love interest in that video looks to be 10 years younger than his actual daughter (I say looks cause maybe the actor is older but they obviously were going for a lower 20's age female look when dressing her up and doing her make up). And he definitely looks old enough to be her father if maybe not her grandfather.

Edit: Wait, I looked it up. Liv Tyler is a year younger than me... so um... try more like his real daughter is almost 20 years older than the model he's using (or how they want her to appear anyways) and the model is definitely sporting a look to be young enough to be his granddaughter!
That's the actual age of their girlfriends though

no, that's not a joke, Steven Tyler's girlfriend is 25.

He probably banged her after the video shoot so IMO this girl is an accurate representation of the girls he is usually with. He's an entertainer. Either he's married and faithful or he's banging 20 year olds. Deal with it.

See? I'm not surprised at all.

Does OP really think that a famous and single entertainer actually has sex with women his own age? I doubt he sleeps with any woman over the age of 27 or so.

I'm not sure why its a revelation that girls in their 20s are attractive to men of all ages.

your thread doesn't make sense - that's the actual age of their girlfriends though

You don't understand! If society didn't tell men they were attracted to younger women, men would all be interested in mature, responsible, intelligent 40-50 year olds!
