New Shadow Run X360 Gameplay Video WTF

more polygons != better models.

i don't know, what is the advantage of the UT2004 model? It just looks older and with less effects applied to it, and a lot less smoother. That's the only advantage I can see in Shadowrun soo...

vs. that image

that's a clear and noteworthy improvement imo

everything else, not so much... in fact worse

Art direction makes a different kids. this is a prime example.

I swear it looks like they hired someone who worked on Beast Wars or something.

oh yes that is true! Art direction here is just awful.

I love the fact that this game is called shadowrun because you can revive people from the dead and blindly teleport through walls...you know..things that you *correct me if I'm wrong* can't do in shadowrun anyway

where are the orks?

i dunno, i think what they're trying to do in terms of game play seems interesting. i think it's just a case of wrong IP for the type of game this is trying to be.

some of the stylistic choices don't help either.

Still looks terrible, and I hope the levels at some point move beyond brown and gray walls. Hard to believe a game with the Shadowrun name could look so generic.

I feel bad for the Shadowrun fans. I've never been a huge Shadowrun fan, so this game just looks like generic dreck to me, but for true Shadowrun fans this is like X 1000 nuclear missles to your balls. I could only imagine if after all the waiting I did for Ninja Gaiden on Xbox, it turned out to be some sort of cooking simulator instead of an action game. I would be a little pissed as well.

Each time I see this thead on the first page it makes me feel pissed off.

:P

It's not like I'm a huge SR fan or anything. I just saw so much potential and it's all wasted on this POS.

SC: Can you imagine, say, a Warcraft FPS game, rather than WoW? I see it as the same thing.
Actually, I wouldn't mind a large scale FPS game if it featured a familiar Shadowrun universe.

So I was talking with a co-worker and it turns out that Microsoft once approached him and his company for a Shadowrun game and he wrote this amazingly beautifull document all about a Shadowrun MMO blah blah. Microsoft flys them out and goes, "hmm we're going to use an internal studio for this game" and then proceeds to let FASA rape the ever loving shit out of everyone's dreams.

Exactly....one of the biggest problems the original Xbox had was a complete lack of decent rpg's in any quantity. So they go out, get the rights to a huge rpg series....and make a ****ing shooter out of it! Insane!

I don't know why, but now I'm hating the game even more.

Just look at the screens, I am not sure if the art lead is the only one to blame, everything, and I mean everything seems ****ed up. Heck, Quake III rapes Shadowruin in terms of level aesthetics and architecture.

Did I hear a Halo sniper rifle in there?
I'm sure I did.

You mean, not enough great RPGs?

A lot easier to say.

I believe I saw that specific video soon after E3. Still looks like crap, and I'm definitely still just as a bitter toward the project as a whole.

Why does noone who interviews Peter Moore or Shane Kim give them shit about this game? I want to hear just what the hell they were thinking when they ok'd this crap.

This fvckin blows. What an awesome opportunity for Microsoft to have a sweet-ass exclusive title (besides Halo, duh) that would really give Sony another challenge.

It could be so simple, too. Basically, make Grand Theft Auto: Seattle 2030. WAIT! I'm serious. We still want a 3d experience, but not another fvckin FPS. Make this a GTA style "sandbox" (<--so overused) game that allows the player to explore the darkest corners of future Seattle. Forget mindless violence, or rather, punish the player by reintroducing the famed karma system. Make the vehicles few and far between, something along the lines of police/tanks/fbi shit that you can't really touch. The general public should be afraid of them.

Then slap the nameless character in a trench coat, erase his memory, and have him struggle to learn about his past by talking to everyone (but please don't bring back that awful ass list of key words to run through every time!). Give the player a chance to recruit friends/mercs for periods of time for the right amount of yen.

Still contemplating how they could redo the "matrix" parts of the original, (the parts where the player himself was in the cpu), but that could be solved later. Limited multiplayer action only. Maybe 2p can take control of one of your recruits.

Please, for the love of everything holy and sacred, do not release this game as an FPS. I was holding out hope --barely-- that somehow they'd make it Shadowrun...but after seeing that shit gameplay that looks like Perfect Dark 64....I've lost all hope. Hopefully they don't ruin the Shadowrun name completely. Scrap this idea now.

Edit: and don't even try "BUT YOU HAVE TO PLAY IT OMG! YOU SHOULD SEE IT IN MOTION!" Go play the fvckin original on SNES (whichever version that was) and start over. What a travesty.

Personally, I wish Shadowrun played more like a KOTOR clone crossed with Grand Theft Auto.

Maybe they can delay this FPS and somehow turn it into Dues EX.lol We can dream right?

That is exactly what it feels like. Thank you for understanding. We are extremely pissed.

To be honest, It doesnt look all that bad, i'd give it a rent, it's just the fact that the shadowrun franchise seems to be wasted on a regular fps game.
