Am I the only one who enjoyed Secret Rings more than Unleashed(sonic levels)?
Depends. I prefer Sonic & Rings over Sonic Unleashed (Wii), but I prefer Sonic Unleashed (360) over every other 3D Sonic game.

Not so much enjoyed, but "hated less" would be a good description.
:lol
That video is so good though. Hope it turns out really great from the trailer. Wish I went to comic con to play it. :-/

I probably enjoyed Secret Rings as much or more than any of the 3D Sonics. For thirteen hours of play, I was pretty much addicted to it. That didn't happen with even the original SA.

Freakin Amazing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Love the music <3
Great trailer.

I think that comic-con's demo won't do this game justice at all. If anything, the game will get better the more you play it.

Same here. Secret Rings needed its play time for leveling up Sonic and get the real vibe.

BTW, we've got 46 new screens.

Oh wow...

On the site, if you scroll to the left, there's boxes labeled "Alex Kidd imports", and in the background on the far left there's a sign that says "Golden Axe pub".

New screens look good too, looking forward to this.

This game looks dope as hell. I've avoided the hate by not playing a Sonic game since Sonic Adventure 2, but I do want this.

Speaking to CasualGaming.biz, the director of Sega’s Sonic Team studio in Japan, Tetsu Katano, said that his team had to “think like children” to ensure the game would appeal to youngsters who had no previous experience of Sonic

He said: “Sonic and the Black Knight is aimed at a younger, more casual audience. We’ve changed a lot of things, essentially. It’s thinking as children; approaching things from their point of view, thinking what they want to see.”

However, Katano added that Sonic Team understood the strong loyalty older fans had of the protagonist, and stressed that they had respected the “tradition” the franchise commands.

He added: “Sonic is kind of a cheeky, edgy character, and so we like seeing Sonic challenge new things all the time. The Wii is a big part of it, because it appeals to a wider range of people who maybe have not played a Sonic game before

Hold on while I leave the room to laugh my ass off

I swear, it's like they directly ripped off every single area in Twilight Princess. All we need now is the Twilight Realm and we're set.

That shot of the field is godly though. Kinda reminds me of this...

I guess that could be a nice change of pace. Make a easy Sonic game with no frustration, lots of levels and a bunch of extra items to find. Kinda like Lego Star Wars. (In that respect, not in gameplay.)

. . . Sooo, Sega, at long last sees that Sonic is a fucking anthropomorphic cartoon hedgehog and should be geared towards kids cause teens only like "mature" things now-a-days?

Im cool with that!:lol

BK being kid friendly isn't a bad thing IMO . . . unless your just looking for shit to LOL at O_o

Well, Sonic Rush Adventure was pretty kiddie. It was fairly easy, but it also had tons of levels, missions and mini games galore. You got your money's worth.

Like with NiGHTS and Secret Rings, you can see that the game supports PhysX.

My question is, what's the big difference between PhysX and Havok? And on Wii, which engine does it benefit more from?

Sonic Unleashed Wii and Brawl used Havok.

I don't think which Physics engine it uses matters all that much to this game, honestly.

So SEGA couldn't have just created a new IP for this sort of game eh?

Pretty shameful.

For once, I agree with you.

This should've been an improved version of Secret Rings (more challenges relating to platforming and racing, less relating to collecting). Adding a sword in there for combat's gonna just slow the game down no matter what, and not in the good way like the Genesis games.

I think I can live with Sega mixing up with Sonic's gameplay as long the game plays well. I could have accepted all his shitty friends and the Werehog if they didn't play terribly.

This definitely looks great. I'm hoping it plays well.

I'm excited for this. I'm thinking it must be due to the mixing in different genres and game-play types, it's different. Hope it comes together for a fun experience.

Who's doing the official thread-why isn't it up? Madworld comes out a week after Sonic and already has its official thread, up.
