His role has been revealed (AND GUESS WHAT? ITS TERRIBLE!):

"Smith’s role has been one of many questions surrounding the next installment of the Terminator series, but Latino Review may know his identity. There was a recent test screening in Arizona where a small group saw the film, and one of the anonymous audience members revealed that Smith plays Skynet. Or at least the "embodiment of Skynet."

His character is being compared to Helena Bonham Carter’s in Terminator: Salvation. She played a Cyberdyne scientist, but later shows up as the face of the evil computer system that is trying to wipe out the human race. It sounds like he’s the personification of the villainous network, which is a definite change from the first two movies, where Skynet is a more esoteric, looming threat."

Skynet hates humans so it made a human form for itself.

I'd rather see a continuation of TSCC either in a tv format or comics rather than a new film that is very likely to go the way of Salvation and T3. I'll see the new one but won't be seeing it in the cinema dvd rental or Netflix will be the saviour of my wallet.

I have a feeling this is going to be the "so bad it's good" type of movie.

Everything is lining up to just be the perfect amount of terrible, I personally can't wait.

That dashboard looks cheap as hell. And what the hell is up with his presence/posture!? Such a mundane shot...

Not only that, but why is skynet making trucks that need to be steered by another robot?

Making Skynet human or giving it a human face is such a cardinal sin against the Terminator myth.

This comment should be directed to the writers of this apparent abomination in the making.

Has the reasoning behind the "Genisys" title ever been explained? It's such a baffling choice, Genesis sounds fine and fits with the premise. Why is it misspelled???

Sys probably short for system, so I'm assuming it's plot related.

As far as things go, that's the least of the concerns about this movie.

Looks like this Todd gif has been topped

Yeah but that's right in line with Todd's character. He's oblivious/disinterested to his own murderous actions. I like to think that in that moment, he's probably thinking about a ham sandwich he has at home in the fridge.

Shit, as expected.

Also weren't there rumours that..., (Be warned..., SUPER SPOILER)
John Connor turns into a cyborg after he's somehow 'infected' by a computer virus. I'm not joking. Apparently that's what happens. Humans can catch computer viruses somehow and when they do it turns them into cyborgs.

Especially when it had autonomous vehicles in every other movie. Did these people ever actually watch Terminator or are they basing this movie off of some gifs they saw once?

if that is true this has to be a ploy to have cameron go "E FUCKING NUFF!" and just pay for the rights back now lol.

As negative as I am regarding this shitshow, I really don't think this is true. It's too much.

Terminator 2 is my favourite movie, because the atmosphere is incredible and I can't think of another film that has the same type of feel (closest being perhaps Terminator 1).

Terminator 3 killed that and made it more of a light hearded popcorn action flick which was trying too hard to be cool. It failed.

Terminator Salvation, as redundant a film as I believe it is, actually was a step in the right direction tone wise. It was much closer to what I wanted from a new Terminator than 3.

But this...this looks like they took everything bad about Terminator 3 and amplified it. Terrible new characters and miscast classics, the completely wrong approach to action and not even the slightest attempt to understand the Terminator atmosphere, just a pale imititation of what they think it's supposed to look like visually.

Why don't they get this?

There was a thread maybe a month ago which linked to a website that had the same spoilers. I'm not sure if this site is just piggybacking off those rumors or they found some other sources.

POSSIBLE SUPER SPOILER FOR THE ENTIRE MOVIE
The big surprise is that as mentioned, John Connor becomes Skynet's henchman through nanomachines or some shit and there were some set photos that lend credence to that theory/spoiler.

In t2.. When Sarah is banging against the fence and is blasted by the nuke at the same time in her dream... Feels like an appropriate response to that news
