No problem I know it's not your fault :)

Anyway here is an update by apparently someone else who listened to the album in Australia...

Back now. It's a really fucking good solid release.

First few tracks are much heavier guitar wise than lateralus. Staying on pretty straight grooves most of the time 6/4.

Vocals are a lot more likened to APC stuff too.
Then the whole album turns a bit spiritual and you get a lot of tabla and bongo work. HEAPS of intense build ups.

Track 5 or 6 will be the single. Punchy. Catchy and has this awesome Vocal intro.

THE LAST SONG IS THE BEST TOOL SONG EVER WRITTEN.
Electronic drum kit and it's just the most epic thing i've heard.

Looks like it's an end of April release and no name is confirmed yet.

TOOL INTERVIEWS & PHOTO SHOOTS
In talking to Danny on Monday night (while he was in Australia), I got the distinct impression that the guys had done a LOT of interviews for the foreign press, which means... lots more album reviews. Also, prior to leaving on the promo tour, I know the band members did interviews/photo shoots for several magazines, including GUITAR WORLD, REVOLVER, and MODERN DRUMMER, so look for those on the news stands in the coming days (April?). And to answer the question on everyone's mind, when I asked Danny if there were any huntsmen on the hotel walls, he replied "no", and, in fact, that he hadn't seen any of the country's more hideous arachnids. However, he admitted that he wasn't really looking for any... which I thought was strange, but perhaps I didn't understand him correctly what with the bad cell connection and goddamn JZ wailing away on his guitar at the Baked Potato in the background. Danny's due back to L.A. today, so I'll ask him again.

Hurrah, can't wait! I know for a fact that the European or Dutch embargo ends at April 13th, I'm really looking forward to any new reviews.. and hope it's not vague like the others.
 
It looks like, according to many reliable sources, the album WILL be titled 10,000 Days and is coming out on May 2nd (May 1st for me, although I always get it earlier, so April 28th for me :D )

Yeah me too... not long now though, just 38 days...but something tells me this wait will feel like forever.
 
Sweet, I'm taking a big overseas holiday and return right around the time of the release, that should take the mind off the waiting quite nicely! Can't wait to listen to this album.

Also, I'm a little concerned that it's actually been ~5 years since lateralus, that went by fucking quick.
 
I don't think so. Adam's little solo part near the end sounds a bit faster and different in my link.

In any case, I got chills watching both of those. I really wish I had more than the 2 gigs of bootleg videos I have. Most of them have such shitty quality.

I don't have any, I only have about 2 audio bootlegs, what I'd give to get more :( but with the new tour, I'm sure something might come my way...

and yeah having watched them both, they're both different but kick ass! thanks for the link

I'm really looking forward to seeing them live, I never have before - just some live clips. I hope I will make it to Amsterdam this summer!

Given that the band has said one of their main influences for this album was the post 9/11 world, I'd say that the second one could be real. The left of the cover looks like the skyline of a city that's partially marred. But on the other hand, it'd be pretty easy to take a random piece of art like that, slap the Tool logo and the 10,000 Days text in there, print it out, and take a pic of it.

I don't think the first one is real. It's too conviniently distorted and obscured, the edges are pixilated, and it just screams "shitty fake."
 
Now it's getting exciting. And for some reason...that cover just looks like it could be real. It's probably me just hoping it is.

Edit: Only the first one showed up for me. Now the second one showed up. I don't know anymore.

The way I look at it is, I really don't give a shit of he's telling the truth or not, heh. Even if he is telling the truth, what does it mean to me? That someone else other than myself has heard the album. Wow.
 
you don't have to believe me. but the truth is still the same. I was able to attend a small listening session and talked to Maynard and Danny and heard the album.

where did that take place? as far as I know, the band have been in Europe for the last month or so promoting the album
