Enjoy, my friend.

I'll be waiting for the larger tour later on. Tough, I'm still debating whether or not to go to the venue here in TO to see if there are any reasonable scalper prices, heh.

Holy shit they played Right in Two for the first time tonight. Completely awesome.
Maynard wasn't very talkative because he was sick =( "I must be allergic to you guys because every time I come to Chicago I get sick"

I thought the visuals on Jambi were really cool. They played extended versions of Stinkfist and Schism(first time I'd ever heard it).

I've been reading reviews saying Maynard doesn't move around as much while singing....and I'm gonna call total bullshit. He was very active tonight, especially during Lateralus. He now seems to like playing with the mic stand.

Justin was also way more into the songs than usual, especially during the climax of Right in Two. Maynard also totally nailed the vocals to Right in Two, and his voice definitely seemed to get stronger as the night went on.

The drumming on the new songs is at a completely different level live. I had never notices how awesome the drumming Rosetta Stoned and Right in Two was until tonight. Danny is a machine.

Overall, it was pretty fucking fantastic.

The Chicago show is up on dimeadozen.....only I don't have an account there. Does anyone who does feel like being generous?

For anyone else who likes live stuff, I encourage you to get the Chicago show. Very good quality.
If you heard the Seattle FLAC stuff, this is the same quality. But you get to hear Right in Two at least :)

You're the only one who can hold your head up high, shake your fist at the gates saying "I have come home now!!"

Fetch me the spirit, the son and the father. Tell them their pillar of faith has ascended.

It's time now! My time now! Give me my, give me my wiiiiiiiings....

I hate that line. I fucking hate it because I want to cry everytime I hear it. It reminds me of my uncle who was murdered 12 years ago. And my grandfather who passed away this past January. =(

Argh. It's such an emotional piece of writing.

This cat thinks the song sucks.

Detroit

Setlist:

Lost Keys
Rosetta Stoned
Stinkfist
Forty Six & 2
Jambi
Schism
Right In Two
Sober
Lateralus
Vicarious
Aenema

My first TOOL show, what can i say? My socks were completely rocked. Some Maynardisms, "Jesus Fucking Christ, you guys are loud", "The Pistons won't win against the Cavaliers...I'm from Akron, Ohio, you know", "So we have a new album out, go and buy it so I can add a lake onto my winery", "Tidal Waves, terrential rain, monsoons, we'll see you late summer if none of these events happen" (intro to Aenema), "I'd like dedicate this song to Satan" (I believe before Lateralus).

Danny was wearing a Clippers jersey. The extended version of Schism just fucking rocked, i think it makes the song a lot more enjoyable. Right in Two was amazing live, but my two favorites were Lateralus and Vicarious, i could just feel the energy running throughout the crowd, amazing. The scene after Aenema was just surreal, hundreds of fans with their arms straight up in the air screaming their lungs out and the guys on stage throwing various items into the crowd and giving each other hugs. I can't wait to see them again.

how the hell would you set them all up to play at once though?

I ran Viginti Tres in winamp and 10,000 Days in windows media player to test it out. Once it reached the end of Viginti Tres, I paused 10,000 days, opened Wings For Marie, and then started them at the same time. I think I paused 10,000 days a second late because it was a tad out of sync.

My friend who found that comment had his friend in audio engineering merge the songs, and he's downloading it right now. He's sending it to me after he gets it, if anyones interested.

well I just tried to sync them in media player classic, and i'm not too sure about them being one song

It becomes really obvious in some places. Like near the end of Wings for Marie there are identical lyrics for a while.

If you can yousendit or whatever, that'd be great, I'm really interested in hearing it.

Viginti Tres is no longer worthless! (I hope)

It's really streching it to make them sink up. Like, if you sink up one of the words that are the same near the end, it throws the whole rest of the song off. Doesn't seem intentional. Just some crazy fan looking too deep.

I started listening to the Viginti Tres/Wings for Marie hybrid and it's just too busy sounding for me. I've come to like Wings part 1 and 2 a lot, i don't want them to be screwed with.

On another note, here's the poster i bought at the show. The pillow's for scale ;)

Where are tool at the moment? I was walking through the Amsterdam red light district yesterday and I thought "OH shit's that's Danny Carey" and then I said to my tool ignorant gf "look at that dude, take a good look" then I showed her a photo when we got home and she said "looks like the guy"

So I think I saw a tool dude walking around yesterday

*squeal*

I believe that Tool is playing in Hamburg tonight, so it was most likely him :)

YES my life has been validated!

I kinda wanted to say "SWEET CD" or similar and then punch him right in the cock for failing to play Amsterdam. ****ing amsterdam where shows sell out even for shit bands months in advance, it's like free money dang it.

Donkey check out this thread, after the show was over the guy running the festival announced that Tool is going to play Amsterdam.

Hehe, I knew about the Amsterdam gig, and the reason why they pulled it.

Tool was headlining the Pinkpop festival, and they didn't want to take the fire away from that. So they "cancelled" the gig, only to resurface after Pinkpop was finished. This monday.

The tickets went on sale about 20 minutes ago, sold out about 15 minutes ago. I got 6 of 'em ^^ (using 3, trying to get some money back for the redicously expensive Radiohead tickets)

Grats Hooker! On an unrelated note, I think this is my favourite lyric on the entire album:

Then he looked right through me
With somniferous almond eyes
Don't even know what that means
Must remember to write it down

Wee! Going to the Toronto show on Sept. 23rd. I got an extra ticket (though it's completely different than where I'll be), so if anyone's interested, just send me a PM.

They're playing September 11th in Houston at the Woodlands Pavilion. I hope to be there with my homemade NeoGAF shirt on.
