Schism ftw fools :p

Let's assume for a second that APC were to release a 4th album sans maynard.
Let's assume that APC were to go on tour for this album.
Let's assume they tour with Tool.

Would this cause a rift in the space time continuum? I'd travel to freaking australia if i had to just to see that concert. I'D EVEN GO TO FRANCE.
I'd **** a pigeon in front of a crowd to see this.

Wait, is there any beef between Howardel and Maynard?

None at all.
And there is no telling who would come back and play on a new APC record, but I read a lot of stuff saying Twiggy and Maynard became really good friends.

Tool is also retouring the US in the spring :D :D :D

Link?? Jesus, I would Love to see them again. I'd never seen them before so Cleveland and Pittsburgh were my first shows, so Id love to hear some of their older stuff off undertow/opiate.

Per Toolband:

With regards to the postponed show in San Antonio on September 12th, the band will make it up sometime in the early spring of next year. They are currently in the process of finalizing the tour details (Spring), so check back with the site as I hope to have more information in the next week or so.

Also, this should be pretty interesting:

Barring any Hochstetters, Maynard is set to launch www.puscifer.com on Friday the thirteenth of October. Having previewed the site, I can tell you that it's a bit of a mind****... something for the phrenos... a glimpse into the man's creative subconscious, or, as MJK writes on the home page: "[an] island of misfit ideas who've found no home with Tool, A Perfect Circle or Caduceus." I don't want to give too much away, so let me just say that the site should keep plenty of you amused, even those entomophrenes out there (just be careful with the podcast.) There's also a store with unique products (shirts, belt buckles, limited edition items & art, etc.) so that you can get that special someone something special (the pilgrims would have loved that one shirt.) Now, dial-up being what it is, I'm going to check it out some more to see what else I can find...

Link about the Spring tour news? I didn't get to see Tool this time around. Ugh... Well if it's true I'm happy, but I'm not holding my breath until I see proof of it.

I guess you somehow missed my post two above yours:

They just finished up the US portion of their current tour and are heading overseas. This tour goes through the first week of February. This gives them about a month off, then they're back in the US.

Oh, and of course the many times on this tour Maynard has told crowds before the last song "See you in the spring"

Wee! Spring tour. Hopefully we'll get a different setlist with some older stuff. I loved hearing 90% of the stuff off of 10'000 Days, but I'd hate to get the same experience twice.

On a side note, I was watching the couple of bootleg DVDs that I have of concerts from this tour and it reminded me of how badly we need a professional Tool live DVD. You don't quite get the best angles of the light, image and laser show with a handy-cam in one location.

Not to mention, Tool and APC tend to do it a lot anways.

Aren't they rumoured to be having a DVD come out?

Well, the last 6 show of the 2002 tour were filmed (including a performance of Ticks & Leeches) and there was supposed to be a DVD made out of that. Most think it's been cancelled, but Tool's not exactly known for being speedy, so ... *shrug*.

Did somebody rushed Beethoven? I dont think so.

TOOL is not a quick cash band, they actually put some thought (actually a LOT LOT LOT) to everything they do.

Erm ... that's kind of what I was saying.

www.puscifer.com is pretty sweet.

Is that Undertaker song new? I've never heard it before.

Sillyness 07/20/06: had another dream. but can't remember most of what happened, who was there, or most of what was discussed. i do know it involved not listening to shite music. i fell asleep with the radio on. i'm sure this is what triggered it. the majority of the tunes that vomit forth from this medium are tired drivel. this comes as no surprise. i'm not letting you in on some best kept inside joke/secret. it's mostly "music" written by emotionally crippled ego soaked half-wits for borderline jock/frat/douche bags who are trying to appear to be sensitive or emotional. these testosterone driven hairdos then play said drivel to unsuspecting dummies just before date rape ensues. tragic. i think the dream involved an angel revealing to me a sterility potion/spell that naturally attaches itself to any soul stealing/lowest common denominator/shite music format thereby interrupting the breeding cycle of these rutting dopes.

:lol :lol

Basically whenever Maynard gets together with some friends of his and they make some music he puts it under the name Puscifer. They've done some songs and remixes for various soundtracks.

As the intro states, just stuff that doesn't fit with APC or Tool. And apparantly he has a lot more stuff on the way:

Meanwhile i'm working on a few more pieces with a few different humans. It will be quite some time before I get anywhere with them. One track with Lustmord, possibly one with Timmy C, Brad Wilk, and Johnny Polonsky. Just ran into Tim Alexander and he sounds like he's interested in doing a track as well. I've approached Evil Joe B to produce and engineer once i have enough of a track in place, and may approach Botrill or Mulder for one of the others. In the meantime Matt Mitchell, our guitar tech, is engineering while we're on the road.

So pretty much just the stuff Maynard is up to in his spare time.

Time to revive this thread...

I was at a Tool concert yesterday (in fact, my first Tool concert ever) and this was the bestest concert mine has ever been to attended!!!!1!

AWESOME AWESOME AWESOME!! They really delivered, and surpassed what I had hoped for by far. Great set list, great visual presentation.

And by the end of the concert Maynard said something like "see you next summer", so here is hoping they will come back here next year.

It wasn't sold out though, as far as I could tell... and merchandise was way too expensive (but usually I don't buy fan shirts and stuff anyway).

Yeah, they tend to put on a pretty good show. Lots of cool visual stuff. And concert merchandise is almost always insanely overpriced, especially with a band as well known as Tool.

They are playing a show not too far away (maybe 2 hours) on the 12th and I was seriously thinking about going there, but my car broke down on me so I won't be able to afford it... I really wouln't mind seeing the same set again, eventhough I missed some of my favorites (Parabola would have been sweet).

Did Maynard wear a gas-mask (with a built in mic) on the US dates too?

robojimbo said:
So you can see them play the exact same set again? Not that I think that they would actually do this, but when you have a decent amount of pretty good material I don't think you should be playing the same set over and over again in the first place.
I think it's rationalized because of the visuals and ... stuff. But yeah, I agree.

Ah well ... video for The Pot sometime next year!

I hope they do spring or summer US dates. i missed them the last time out (don't remember the reason) and really want to see them live. Has Rosetta Stoned been in the set lists?

Every single one of these is now wrong, as the entire NA tour is being rescheduled. Danny Carey tore a bicep last week, and needs some recovery time. :(

any new dates announced?

so my sister won tickets to a show. I don't know when the show is, though. Why? Because she doesn't know. She was in the car and turned the radio on and heard something about a contest CALL NOW so she did and won. The DJ said, "congratulations! you won!" She said, "yay! what'd I win?"

she's not even a fan of Tool, GAF! wtf. and she called me to gloat. damn her. (I think she lives in North Carolina right now but I'm not sure. My mom moved to Tennessee and my sister may have followed.)

Just pulled from this from tool navy. Pretty well accurate with all the setlists that I've seen. They don't really change it up very much (I assume due to lighting, visuals, etc. ... or they're just lazy).

You get these songs:

Stinkfist
46+2
Schism
Vicarious
Aenima
Lateralus

Pick one of these:
Sober
Opiate
Swamp Song

Pick one:
Jambi
The Pot

Pick Two of these:
Wings for Marie pt 1 and 2
Lost Keys/Rosetta Stoned
Right in Two (rare)

It's time now, my time now...give me my, give my wiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiings.

Arrrrrrrgghhh. That line never fails to hit me straight at the heart and choke me up. It makes me think of my murdered uncle, my grandfather's death last year, and the future of my remaining grandparents. Ugh.

Such a beautiful song, yet so painful to listen to. Maynard James Keenan, you are nothing short of a God.

That song is so great at the concert. I went to see them 3 times this tour and they were ****ing amazing every time.

I would still give anything to hear The Grudge and/or Parabola live, but oh well I guess, still kicks major ass.
