New Uncharted screens and movies

I suck at spotting tearing. Guess I'm blessed :p
I only notice in your face tearing like in the MGS3 swamp area/GoD shiny hall and even then it doesn't really bother me as long as the game-mechanics are forgiving enough.

I didn't notice any major tearing problems in Uncharted. Like others have said, it's unreaslitic to expect great graphics w/perfect framerate and no tearing on this gen's hardware. Even Resistance had some tearing, although it was very rare and largely unnoticeable. I'm okay with tearing as long as it's not like Heavenly Sword which ruined the final action sequence with some major tearing.

This game is going to produce some MAJOR tearing
of the poopshoot kind....you know...because its going to be awesome.

Finally saw the hobbling animations of the enemy in one of the gamespot videos showing the cathedral level, good show rawr.

Nah your not blessed you just enjoy life.

Dammit well I am one of those people that enjoy life on a game to game basis, because in some games I see it and in some games I don't.

I played the first 3 chapters (Beta October Build which arrived yesterday), and I think the game is brilliant control wise and the animation is pretty much fantastic.

By 'animation' I mean, that Drake has different jumps, catches, going through doors, wall-peaking, for every single situation there is in the game.

I played it on a Debug station at work on a tiny 15" Crappy TV, I couldn't tell the graphical power of the game, all I can say is that the environment is huge with very little loading times.

After playing 3 chapters, I decided to turn the game off and wait for the (final) release of the game as I want to play this relaxed at home on a decent TV.

Elena's new model is better IMO (I also played a demo build back in July) although one can hardly notice any major differences, her hair is more natural now compared the old one-chunk-hair she had before.

edit: Any questions, I won't mind replying

:D

What were the puzzles like in those first chapters? Don't tell what they were exactly, just how hard/engaging/clever they were.

Also, what does the balance seem like between shooting, platforming/exploring and puzzles?

How did you like it overall, other than controls and animation?

The issue with the gun not consistently lining up with the reticule has been addressed. The biggest issue there was with our tracers. Because we have a breathing animation layered on Drake, the barrel of the gun has a subtle motion on it. For gameplay purposes we always need the projectile to strike within the center of the reticule. But if you have the tracer draw a line from the tip of the barrel to the center of the reticule, you will see some inconsistencies. Now they aren’t really noticeable when you’re in the heat of battle, but for the perfectionists in all of us, we’ve decided to fix the problem.

And he's VERY hard to please, so consider it as a VERY positive opinion.

- Puzzles aren't as hard as God of War/Ico, I would call it more exploring and getting to know how or which way would be best to pass through, other than puzzles.

- The first three chapters didn't involve much shooting, except for the first part. So from what I played it does have more platforming/exploring/puzzles than shooting. I would classify this as an adventure game not a shooter game

- Its gonna be a brilliant game, Day 1 Purchase for me. It has a naughty dog feel to it if you know what I mean. Story got me intrigued too and the dubbing is great. Oh... and shadows are very smooth compared to other PS3 games I played.

That part makes me extremely happy.

Best news today.

It makes sense though to emphasize the shooting parts in media as to garner sales.

That is music to my ears, thanks for the impressions. It was already most anticipated title of the year, but my excitement is growing daily.

YES! Thank you for those comments. This was a day one purchase anyway, but it's really great to hear that the Naughty Dog feel is there.

Have to finish the waiting game first, though...
