I'm glad...the game is starting to get spoiled.

These new pictures made me hard! Amazing.
Yeah, i don't know if i want to see a video of the jet ski level, the pics already are insanely awesome, better wait for the game and experience the real deal. In just 5 weeks. :D

This sucks looks like a Wii game.

I'm glad someone finally came out to say it... I just was saying how awesome this game looks and stuff just because I'm afraid to express my true opinion and feelings in life... I got picked on in elementary school, jr. high, highschool, and in college, so I have low self esteem... I'm fragile... Thank you for helping me come out and say the truth...

I couldn't expect less from Naughty Dog. I still remember when I had the ps2 and was unimpressed by its graphics..but then comes Jak and Daxter 1 and when I went outside the cabin and saw the first stage(not the tutorial one) I was blown away by the scope, number of polygons and textures and I thought: '' it took a while but it finally showed...the ps2 is REALLY considerably more powerful than the Dreamcast...is not even funny''.

Uncharted is giving me the exact same feeling I had with Jak and Daxter 1....the number of polygons, diversity of effects, quality of textures, animation, and the scope of the game are really amazing and that are the reasons that, IMHO, the most technically impressive game on the ps3 or at least, between the top 3.

I only have the 360 and intend on purchasing a ps3(and a Wii), and I don't know how much more powerful the ps3 is compared to 360. For the sake of gaming I don't care (although I always loved to compare the games on the tech side of things), but I gotta say I haven't seen anything like that on the 360.

Many games today seem to excel in one area or two graphically speaking, but Uncharted seems to have it all. What it does, it does right and for that alone, it is impressive and ONE HELL of a show case for the ps3.

Enough is enough !!! ND, go for blackout now until release, we have seen so much already !!
i'm sure there are spoilers, and i will no check this thread again until i can grab the game and play it !

Mods, close this thread for the sake of Gaf ! Now !

Sorted through a few pics - these are the ones that I haven't personally seen before.

Jesus, is the IQ really that sharp and clean?

Going by the HD videos out there, yes.

It probably won't end up being exactly that clean, but everything we've seen thus far suggests it'll be one of the cleanest, if not the cleanest game released so far this gen. They never got the respect they deserved last gen for how impressive the Jak engines were, whether it be because people just didn't like the games or the art style, but that seems to be changing this gen.

Wait so the game doesn't just take place on the island but we'll have to find it first? 8O

Self-shadowed down to individual fingers? RAWR.

I'm glad that they haven't doctored away the small glitches, means they have faith in their product. ^.^

Yeah, I don't think they've released one supersampled picture yet. On all of the 720p screens you can see it's genuine image quality. Even the slightly resized screens like those above, if you look you can see pixel edges in spots, and regular AA.

And LOD and jagged shadows and shadow glitches. ^.^

But screen tearing and shimmer are only noticable in videos.

I hope the have a little time to correct the jump animation timing and perhaps connect it with the speed the player is moving Nathan at.

Not mandatory but considering how perfect this game is in most areas even the tiniest issues become apparent where as they are quite acceptable in other games.

Use this hint first:

It means you need to use the cypher machine in the Submarine.
Click on the area on the map on the desk, then go to the sub. You may have missed a key bit of info from the end of the video if all you have are the letters though.
You may want to look closer at it.
*hints*
Thx for the hints. But where are the typewriter thing you are talking about? I clicked everything on the board. Only the
tape
and the
youtube link
worked. When I tried to click the
"amazon" point on the map
, my IE stopped responding... :( Is that what I am supposed to do?

"Is that what I am supposed to do?"
Yes it is. :(

Please correct the spoiler tags in your quote.

The first is old, but that U-boat one was fantastic. Great scope, gorgeous visuals and beautiful vista at the end.
I find it great that they reward the player with a beautiful view and such for the climbing/platforming done.

It's no wonder that the game takes up so much space, thought it's amazing that a team of 80 have been able to create so much content with that level of polish.

There's a new dev write up on the official site. I love how they have colour coded the whole game. When you find treasure or something it's bright colours in the next areas...or if you get stranded it's all depressing and dark. :P It's like a movie!!!!

I really, really like the style. While lighting looks amazingly real, the overall art direction makes it look like a living painting. There really is a great work on filters and textures.

Can't wait to play this game (and to see what they're cooking next :P)

Made a gif from the final part of the uboat video. A bit big (4+MB), and still had to cut 1/2 frames. Still looks good I think

This looks a last level/last stand type scenario.

Hmm dunno...

but, something is weird... this game is supposed to take place on a small island in the pacific ocean. This looks like a huge town and wouldn't fit on a small island.

Also, the official website mentions that the u-boat is right in the middle of the amazon, milesaway from the ocean. But Drake goes there.

So maybe I've missed something, but I don't think they mentionned other places than the tiny island, did they ?

Well it's in the Bermuda Triangle. Strange stuff can happen there.

Hopefully, there are lots of stuff we don't know yet. I don't wanna know everything. What I do know is that this game is simply beautiful and I really really hope that it will be a good game too...

This engine would be wonderful for an RPG. Hopefully this gets passed around the internal sony studies and someone greats a good RPG with it.

It will do wonders with the next Jak and Daxter. But you're right : I'd like to see an Oblivion-like RPG using this engine.

Wow, looking better and better as it gets closer to release.... I'm thinking I'm going to have to institute my personal Uncharted Media Blackout soon. After the 1Up Show footage and these new pics, I'm glad to hear I'm still not seeing absolutely everything the game has to show and I want to keep it that way. :D

Oh if you solve the puzzle at the official site you'll get the answer you are looking for.

The answer:
Apparently Nathan first has to find the island and the map over the island is located in the German sub.

this game makes me want to get a new T.V.

I have a 26" widescreen HDTV CRT and a 34" widescreen Sony HDTV CRT...

does anyone else feel like they are missing out playing some of these games on larger screens or in true 720p instead of 1080i

I love my CRTs....but if I did....what should I get now......46" Bravia XBR?
