Bleach was pretty cool, but once the fillers started it just got downhill.

I never really felt that ever became as good as Naruto. Narutos fillers have been much worse. I mean... the Ramen episode was so bad that I soiled myself, twice... Thank god, that its only 2 episodes before the new "back to the manga starts"! Can't wait to see naruto as an adult and the hole timeskip... it will be cool^_^

Ditto. However, of the three or four strips I just looked at, the jokes are slightly more humorous than VGcats'. The art just blows monkey dong. Honestly, is it drawn by a seven year old... actually I've seen fanart done by seven year olds and that statement was an insult to them.

This strip is why I love having a comic. Having the freedom to do whatever I want with it. I can choose to vent about anything, make the worst possible jokes, and even do something sad once and a while. I'll catch flak now and then from people but I can't be bothered to care. I thank my fans for the support but ask that you respect that this is my canvas. If I don't do this once and a while, I will get bored with it.

"OMG SCOTT THIS ISN'T FUNNY. WHAR FUNNY?!" My comic. Don't like? gtfo! This week I wanted to challenge myself a bit. I recognize that I have a long way to go artistically but, I also know that practice is the way to do it. So I recreated one of my favorite scenes from Bleach.

The idea was first given to me when I was doing sketches at a con. Leo having a ratflail sword just worked so well. Another point of interests is that Bleach just came out of filler. Now I'm not encouraging downloading, I'm just saying "Hey you know, it's there". Bleach is actually one of the few series that was dubbed well (Full Metal Alchemist, Cowboy Bebop). Just need Naruto to follow suit and stop the ninja team crap.

Now why this took so long. Every panel in this comic, every panel, has been redrawn at least once. Leo's Bankai form and the Rat Morning-star (build up on the Rat Flail) were tough. Both totally new and had to reflect the series and the comic. Few of the concepts are here. Kept on trying to add head gear (Knight, Ninja, or Skullface) but that would mean a Hollow. Eventually he turned into one similar to Renji's. The Rat was then based off a Werewolf as it had the look I wanted.

Anyway I'm all done ranting. Time for some of that sleep I said I was gonna get. As this one took a few all nighters.

Now don't go slitting your wrists Scott. We do think you're funny.

You know a short while back I went through the entire VGcats archive and it's not as though the comic is seriously devoid of any humour, there are atleast 10 strips (that I dont' feel like going back to dig out again) that I laughed at. The problem with the other 200 or so strips is that the joke is in the middle, there is no joke or the strip references metazoic ear videogames. His art is typically good stuff , the guy just needs a writer to do this with him.

I may not be the hugest PA fan on earth but those guys have direct hit or miss strips , the arts pretty much always good and the writing is fine too but occasionally the actual joke might miss the mark a tad but the overall quality of PA is much higher then VGcats simply becuase it's 2 guys doing simple 3-4 panel strips newspaper style instead of making epic pages of junk. If scott does in fact have a writer that person needs to go and he needs to find someone else.
