I'm still waiting back from Nintendo to see if anyone can get these. But that locking clip looks really sexy. I want one.

Man, I took off the wrist strap off my Wiimote months ago. I don't know how people play with that string slapping around. Annoying as hell.

Free the Wiimotes!

Maybe they, I dunno, wear it?

Oooh I want, I hated when mine loosens up, I like that secure feeling. Is that trade in still in effect? Cause I never sent in for new straps when the whole breaking strap epidemic was around, maybe I can get a pair for free.

Oh wow! If Microsoft was in trouble before, I don't know what they're gonna do now.

strap replacement is still available on main site. just have to supply consoles serial number etc. They sent me 8 straps when I did mine in 2 seperate packages. Though what straps they will give is anyones guess

Yeah, it kind of chaffes my wrist. I never saw the point of it. I got rid of it when I was playing Excite Truck in February. Realized there is no way I'll throw the remote through the screen.

Of course, my second Wiimote still has a strap. If I throw my Wiimote and my TV, well, it's my fault. But I don't want one of my friends wrecking my stuff.

I wonder if Nintendo will sell these separately in stores, phase out the old straps and send these as replacements for recalled straps/new remotes, or let you order them separately from their online store? I'd really like to get a set but don't want to jump through hoops (ie. pay money) to get them.

Probably let you order online for the individual straps, as well as include them with future Wiimotes.

Score.

wrist straps do matter, in my friends house there is a hole on his ceiling where a Wiimote was stuck after a game of bowling.

anyway, I will only see these if Nintendo comes out with a black wiimote that I would buy.

Agreed straps can be a lifesaver. I sent a remote flying out of my hand and it left a nice dent in my wall. Thank God its a nintendo product though. all that happens to the remote was a paint scrape. Wish the wall faired that well.

I'm browsing gaf on my Wii. And I have my strap on.

I am not kidding.

nerd! ive gotten lazy with the strap since i got the Nyko charger kit. the rubber grip it places on the back of the remote really works well for a better grip

I personally know of a couple people with cracked televisions, resulting from wii-motes that have slipped out of someone's hand.

It's not that odd, really. Sometimes you really get "into it" and you take a swing or something and it just slips out of your hands and goes flying.

:lol Yeah, I realised I had it on as I was reading the topic. I must have subconsciously put it on because it's annoying hanging down.

Yeah I dont want to take them off cause I have family that plays the wii alot so I want them to stick to using them. If I dont and I screw up and break something thats fine I did it.

But I have to have it on for some games like baseball etc just the swinging action leads to it slapping my wrists and that gets to be really annoying

I got 4 of these for free last week when I signed up for Nintendo's wrist strap replacement thing. I don't like the buckle that much but its more secure I guess
