New Witcher 3 Video | New Gameplay on monday

Gameplay footage looks great.

That being said, if you want to know why "reviewers" are essentially advertisers look no further than this video. They're inviting a bunch of "journalists" to beautiful locations (including a castle), complete with booth babe that has a sword strapped behind her back.

I know i would love to visit decorated castles with hot chicks walking around.

You can get through Witcher 2 in less than 30 hours.

Yeah, it's much denser than Dragon Age: Inquisition. One playthrough is 25-30 hours long, although the replayability factor is really high so I'd always recommend a second playthrough.

I'd say playing Witcher 2 is only going to make you more excited for 3. When I first finished Witcher 2 I wanted to continue playing the next thing immediately. You'll be able to do that.

Witcher 2 is awesome, play it. The world has a lot of more 'character' than the Dragon Age games. The story is also much more involved.

I had to borrow a 360 and found the game on clearance To play it over the last 6 weeks or so. Averaging around 4 hours a week I completed it recently in under 30 hours and is the vast majority of side quests. Looking at the story line for the last game you might get more benefit from reading the novels instead.

Thanks guys. Just bought it. Combat looks fun!

Glad you're getting the game. :)

Just keep in mind that you will only see about 70% of the whole story in one playthrough. TW2's decision-making system ensures that Geralt will not be able to uncover all the secrets, conspiracies, and the hidden agendas of supporting characters in a single playthrough. To gain a full understanding of the events unfolding throughout the game, you'd have to complete it twice and make different choices each time, which would total your play time to a healthy 50-55 hours.

Although, you -could- Youtube the parts that you missed if you so choose.

Did you get it on PC? If so you should check out the combat rebalance mod

Played the game for a bit. Loved the combat! Getting a Dark Souls vibe from it... very fun stuff!

Visually it's no Dragon Age Inquisition (obviously), but it holds up well. Looks better than I expected. Though I feel Dragon Age's performance is better on my 970? Might be my imagination since I'm not using fraps.

Will check the rebalance mod. Thanks!

One thing I recommend is disabling "Cinematic Depth of Field". It ends up cutting the framerate in half in cut scenes and I prefer the basic Depth of Field anyways. Doesn't help during gameplay, but at least it'll be more consistent.

You're forgetting something!

Cyberpunk-2077-2.jpg

I can't wait, give us something CD Projekt!

sweet mother of mercy look at those screenshots. I'm going to spend so much time just walking around that city looking at stuff. can't wait

screenshot looks fantastic. though i don't recognize any of those places from my play through. must be way ahead since he has different armor and swords.

what i love about the witcher is the design and style. the character just don't have sword or bows floating on their backs. even lorveth's bow has a thing that holds his bow on his back.

Do you have ubersampling on? You can turn it off if you want solid 60 fps

These guys are polaks rite? Eastern european devs are the best as far as atmosphere goes. Mafia was so good back in the days visually.

Polish is the word you're looking for. And yes, they are. It's a good thing a polish studio is making the trilogy. The witcher is as famous as lord of the rings in poland. Everyone in my family knows the books even if they don't know the games. And in interviews with CDProject you feel that this game is more for them than just a normal game. Everybody is looking at them. Even the author is fine with how they use his work. Must be a lot of pressure and I'm glad that the first two are already great games. If the witcher 3 turns out as I think this studio will have created something special.

Hype is off the charts for this one. I fully intend on taking a personal day or two when this comes out and playing until I have eyestrain.

It would be awsome if the game relesed as it was originally planned in february , as there is nothing until Bloodborne for me to play. But everything good must come at a cost, so it might be better for us.

I wish i could, but the game comes out the day my exams session begins.
I might even skip buying it for a month instead of having it day 1 and barely playing.

Nice nice didnt know the books were of polish origin. Played the 2nd one and it felt like it had alot more character then the usual western stuff. Nice to see slavic influence in gaming.

The author even worked as a advisor for CD Project. Here is a little Interview excerpt from June 2014 (I translated it because I think polish wouldn't be of much use^^):

Q: Why don't you work on "the Witcher" from CD Project?
A: Because I was never asked. When they asked me for advice I always helped out, but I never actively worked on "The Witcher". And I don't have clue about video games. You should do what you can do best.

Q: What do you think about the game?
A: Only someone who played it can answer that [note: He once said he doesn't play videogames, he rather reads books in his free time]. And the criteria [for a good game] should be how captivated you are by the game. Do you quit after half an hour or do you play the whole night? But the graphics are breathtaking in my opinion.

TL;DR: The Author of the books thinks the graphics are amazing. So all your downgrade complaining is wrong gaf. Sorry.

This all makes the delay sting a bit more, but if they needed the time then I am fine with a better finished product. Everything looks so great! Hopefully the stream today will give us a better idea of how precise and responsive the combat is. I feel like everything they have showed so far makes it look good, but not given us a true sense of how it works.

Sadly, Witcher 3 threads always spawn the most pedantic conversations on visual quality.

Like I said before, NVIDIA is probably going to have a graphics tech showcase for the game sooner or later. Kind of wish this game would release after 16nm tech, because I know my 560m is just going to shut down while trying to play this Damm thing.
