New Wolfenstein II Tweet Ad: "There is only one side."

My most anticipated game of 2017.

Mick Gordon (DOOM, Killer Instinct Season 1/2. and Prey) is helping composer for this one. He contributed a bit with The New Order but he seems to have a bigger role in this game. Makes me even more excited for it :D
A bit? Mick Gordon composed the entirety of The New Order. Wolfenstein 2 is being co-composed by Martin Stig Andersen, but how big of a role he has is unknown #fakenews

Completely settles it: Will be buying before the end of the year. I was going to wait till I finished TNO, but this game needs support now.

Also looking forward to the salty tweets about this ad.

I’m digging this advertising campaign, especially doubling down after stupid people threw hissy fits over the last ad.

Hidden final boss?

I may just buy two copies of this because it's so good 🙌🏿🙌🏿🙌🏿🙌🏿🙌🏿🙌🏿🙌🏿🙌🏿🙌🏿🙌🏿🙌🏿🙌🏿🙌🏿🙌🏿🙌🏿🙌🏿🙌🏿🙌🏿🙌🏿🙌🏿🙌🏿🙌🏿

One for PC so you can max it out, one for Switch so you can punch Nazis on the go.

The marketing somehow seems very US-centric.

Seems reasonable given that most of the sales will come from there.

Probably the message of “nazis marching in America” doesn’t resonate as strong as there.

Loving this campaign. Too bad the Switch version isn't out til next year, I want to give them my money but I'm not gonna buy two copies lol.

I love, love, love, that this is such a simple ad. There's literally nothing controversial about it and that would have been true any time in the last smattering of decades.

When someone gets upset or taken aback by an ad like this. You've learned something about them.

It’s impossible to argue in defense of any group seeking to restrict the rights of others because of personal beliefs. Be they Nazis or AntiFa (who both ironically have some things in common, like a disdain of free speech), there’s a reason fringe groups don’t have mainstream appeal (the odd time they do, it’s because of an existing tyrannical faction in power, like the old French or Russian monarchies, for instance).

The Nazis in this game and the “neo” variety of today aren’t the same thing, but that’s probably because one group was in charge of a world power and another is a loose collection of miserable and uneducated people.

This can only make me roll my eyes. It's a great, if unfortunate, marketing opportunity - I get it - but they could attempt to be clever with it.

Ah well, at least its lack of effort is funny. The marketing team have their feet up on their desks right now.

Posts like these really screw with my sarcasm detector.
Pretty sure it's straight up sarcasm. Either that, or they're sad the Wolfenstein, which was always about Nazis, is suddenly politically relevant because of a reignited Nazi movement.
EDIT: Ninja'd.

Anyway, I might check this out down the road, although I'm not big on SP shooters.

For what exactly? lol I don't see why this advertising is hyped up...it goes with the theme of the game...

You mean you don't see why an advertising sentence that goes against what the president of the USA said a few week ago is hyped up ?

That marketing politically takes a side and that is very ballsy and new (to me at least).

Was there ever a video game marketing that political ?

How clever can you get with punching nazis? Love that they’ve doubled down.

Finally locked in my preorder last week, skipping South Park and getting this instead. This ad campaign only affirms that I made the right choice.

Fucking hell... this, Mario, and Stranger Things season 2 all in the same day... plus I've got a fucking concert to go to that night. There's not enough time!!

Good stuff. I wish we could have more games that used the "evil corporate CEO" and "corrupt politician" trope as well and tied it to current events. Stuff with climate change and stuff like that.

I want more political statements in my media in general as long as it raises awareness. Fuck the ones who get offended. We were happy to have shows like captain planet years ago

My whole family is either right leaning or independent at most. We don’t find this advertising offensive at all. Hell my dad is more right than any of you can imagine and he loves all the Wolfenstien games.

People shouldn’t take this game as anti right, or anti American. It’s straight up anti Nazi , and that’s just fine to any level headed person.

Well you don't have to spell it out. "IF YOU ARE A NAZI ... *PUNCH* GTFO".

You could have 30 seconds of BJ punching Nazis, followed by "Nazis are entitled to rights... and lefts". Something, I don't know, but attempt something clever.

Please don't compare Nazis to Antifa. It's embarrassing. If Nazis weren't suddenly marching around again Antifa would be at home eating waffles.

Okay, I surrender. Pre-ordered. Will be my first FPS in forever and ever. This is the greatest marketing campaign I've ever witnessed for a game, though it's extremely unfortunate that something like this can hit home. In 2017. Fuck Nazis.

The nazi's are facists, and the right wing is a breeding ground for far right ideology like racism hatred and bigotry, where it comes from neo nazis, the KKK or any other place.

It makes sense to tie them to far right idealogy considering how far the spectrum has gone to the right in recent years, we have a fascist in the white house and a government run by him
