In either case, I see nothing wrong with continued support. It might not necessarily be something big (peeps still waiting for screenshot and external HDD support) but the updates have been constant at least.

Freeview, Freeview HD, SKY, Virgin. All of them. Hows it going to work?

It could easily support all of them as long as you are using a an external box (I.e. Not an internal TVs tuner). The channels are pretty much the same, just different subsets and channel numbers, all of which are easily licensable from various companies. As are the IR codes to control them.

Smart glass as a universal remote sounds good, but if you have a TiVo you can already use an iPad app to manage your recordings, play stuff back etc. and if the Xbox is using an IR blaster it won't be able to navigate menus easily, whereas the TiVo app can because it communicates via the LAN

Not to go off topic, and someone please warn me if this is in itself bannable, but the reason I find this stuff personally annoying is because I've had junior accounts locked up for considerably less and would have to wait several months before I could participate in any discussions again. Ive had my launch day X1 for less time than it's taken to get this account approved and there have been a ton of threads that I wish I could have joined in on.

I still really enjoy this community but it's impossible for me to understand what "drive by trolling" is when comments like the mentioned are constant around here.

Screenshots would be great, and then let us use those screenshots or the achievement pictures as backgrounds. Also if they do add custom backgrounds it would be nice if they let us set the opacity of the tiles.

I read it... But it's still not a replacement DVR. It just sounds like if you already have a DVR box, it will allow you to control it over the One Guide UI, not work like a DVR. So unfortunately it would still make no sense especially if one already has the Hopper and the X1 platform by Comcast. Oh well :

Instead of fixing all the stuff they have or announcing new things, they should fix the damn controller first and foremost. The fact that the controller struggles when the headset is hooked up is unacceptable. Why they designed a controller that cannot adequately power a headset that is hooked up to it is beyond me.

I don't and that's what I was initially thinking. I was super excited that they finally allowed the function but since it doesn't but just throws another overlay, it makes no sense. I was thinking about getting the X1 for myself too even though I would need a triple play package to use it, however, since the X1 platform is almost exactly like the One Guide in a sense, it's kind of redundant. I wished instead of MS using $400 million to secure the NFL deal, they could of dumped that money towards getting Comcast on board to throw in DVR control. But I know that will never happen. Either way, for people who don't have amazing DVR experiences and are always on their Xbox, this fairs well for them I guess.

If you turn it off while in TV mode, does yours not come up with fullscreen TV? I agree that it would be nice to have the option to have it always boot into TV, though. Given how complex my setup was last gen, my wife loves that she can turn it on and just say "XBox Watch TV" without having to figure out how to switch to the TV.

Why is it the point? Your TiVo goes through your Xbox, the smartglass remote is literally replacing your TiVo remote, it isn't doing anything particularly integrated. If you're picking up your tablet just to control your TiVo,why not use the far more capable TiVo app, or just pick up your peanut? It's still working with your Xbox in that it is being passed through.

Same here. Although when get mine I will try it, just in case. But most likely she'll hate it
