New Year's Resolutions

What do you plan to start or change in 2024?

Mine are: actually go to the dentist (currently living that British cliche).

Master the creation of a specific condiment and try and sell it at a food market.

Cut out evening snacking.

Hmm… difficult. This year’s been quite the hiatus. I finally fixed my crippling insomnia and got back into shape, got rid of smoking again and am back to reading loads of non fiction books (and enjoying it).

So for 2024…. I guess to surpass the best shape I’ve been in from 2017 and if possible fix my appetite and gain some weight. Made some huge strides in the past months but I still largely hate eating.

Good luck with the dentist one. Has my first appointment in ages the other week. Thankfully it was all good.

Do you a specific condiment in mind for what you want to try and make?

Maintain my muscle mass, pay off old debt, get a car newer than my 26 year old Jeep Cherokee, Buy John Marston a gaf membership, also I've never taken a vacation so I'd like to see if it's better than just drinking and watching those "wild on" travel shows with Brooke Burke.

This is mine too. Considering its free here its so stupid not to go there every year. The other one is to cut out soda. Need to stop drinking that poison.

Dude, don't miss up on the professional dentist cleaning. I used to have huge issues with my teeth during my youth and young adulthood. Hated the dentist. Then I got mad issues with one of my wisdom teeth and had to go and have it pulled. Dentist ordered me a clean-up along the way. Been doing it every 6 months ever since. Costs me like 25 EUR every time. NO tooth problems whatsoever ever since and it's been like a decade.

Thinking back hurts. I was such a retard for avoiding the dentist my entire childhood.... damn...

I hear you. Its kinda sad we usually have to let things go worse before we take action on it.

Keep my ongoing resolution to read a book a week.

For a new resolution, I start to learn Python. Just fancy getting some new skills under my belt.

Brush up on my Italian and get fluent.

To take more risks and to be less humble.
To splurge more and to be less frugal.
To finally overcome the challenges in life that have plagued me for so long.

I'm gonna have to pony up because NHS dentists don't exist here. That's partly why I've been putting it off.

Cheers.
I do, but it's fairly unique and I often talk about it at work and there are a few gamers there, so...

It may be unfair to shift blame but I somewhat to blame my parenting for it. My mother didn’t really give a damn about health issues… For my brother and me and for her… So much has not been explained to me…

Find a good girl and get married... not just any woman who only wants money or being superficial in material things.

-In 2024 I will go on a trip to Japan, visit Disney Tokyo or the world of Mario bros

Get the sailboat fixed up to hit the high seas, learn some Spanish, and build something out of cedar wood (love the smell of that shit!).
Bring on 2024!!!

Short term resolution: Dry January

Year long resolution: Apply for jobs outside of teaching, hopefully making this my last year in the classroom.

Make sure you do DisneySea. I thought it was much better than Tokyo Disneyland.

Stop drinking, completely. Let my diet finally take hold. It's a good diet, imo... I just need to stop drinking and up my food intake to two times instead of one time per day.

Lose 30 lbs. I lost about 40 around 10 years ago and have put 20 of it back on in the last 3 years. Planning to turn that ship around in the first half of this upcoming year.

I've got a head start on my goals so it won't be anything brand new starting tomorrow. I've been sober 10 weeks and lost 25 pounds so far. Got a fit bit so I can keep my calorie deficit going. Feeling the best I've felt in a long time!

Already started in the last 2 months but I'm in the process of eliminating everything that I don't really enjoy from my life.

A small example, I used to watch a lot of movies, than I realised that I would have preferred play some videogames, but for the sake of being a good person and a good boyfriend I spent many evening with my GF watching something on the TV.... not going to happen anymore.

This is a small thing, but many small things will make a huge difference.

I made this thread about new years resolutions "2023 New Years Resolution" and I FAILED all of them. Although I DID play less games, I spent WAY MORE money on them. $3,500 on just two PSVR2s and my new Desktop.

So this year I'm making it simpler and easier.
1. Easy - No NEW video game purchases. I have too many that I haven't finished. The only game coming out this year of interest is FF7Rebirth, but I can wait for the better version in 2025, after updates and PC version.
2. Moderate - No Porn, Period. I need to meet more people. I will have to get on a newer modern site to meet people with, as the old ones I used weren't getting results I needed. The lack of porn will encourage me to get out there and actually engage.
3. Difficult - Education. This one is toughest, because I don't know what I really want to improve on. The best I can start with is Math as I know I suck at it. I'll be looking into Brilliant to see what it can offer.

Those are the 3 focuses. I would have put building my body in there, but I don't have much desire for putting in the work, as my job is already all physical and I'm in good shape. I just want to improve. So it's not a focus.
1 is super easy, with only one game (that can wait) I'm interested in. Most of the games I have and haven't finished are very good. I just jump around too much and never finished most of them. Now I can focus on completing the backlog.
2. Ah the desires of the flesh. Porn is so easy to get, but I've been desiring physical contact from real people for so long. It won't be easy, but hopefully I'll get out there and mingle more, this year.
3. I just feel like I've hit a mental plateau and want to see just how capable my mind is.

I guess this is the fun of New years resolutions. To find out just how serious we are about improving ourselves. STAY STRONG GUYS!

Some of us change willingly, in order to correct what we perceive as mistakes we have made.
You are Supreme Being, though. Don't ever change.
