Today was all panels for me

Marvel Animation... True Blood... Zelda

Then Marvel's Avengers comics, Batman and Ninja Turtles.

My feet hurt :(

Fun time today. Saw a lot of things but managed to not buy any of it. I'll fail at this tomorrow.

Lots of good cosplay this year too. Some of these costumes are nuts. That girl dressed as robot dog from Metal Gear...Damn that looked painful.

Damn, knew they were going to be here but still missed the MGR group since I was too busy goofing around. Really hope they'll still be around on Saturday and Sunday!

Today was wonderful. I didn't have a lot to spend but I got exactly what I wanted, my brother-in-law got exactly what he wanted. Both my sisters got what they wanted. We inexplicably ran into the cast of Fangasm at a pie store and took photos with them. I dunno, I don't watch the show. My sister recognized them.

My highlight though is what happened with my sister. My sister is really sick, so sometimes she is so exhausted from her disease that she has to go in the wheelchair. So after lunch she couldn't walk anymore and we took her in the wheelchair.

My sister is a huge Doctor Who fan. So, she wanted John Barrowman's signature. Unfortunately, last we heard, we thought he was only going there Saturday and Sunday. So it was exciting to see he was there and she could get his autograph. So my we go on the line and the line is just crazy long. Who knows how long it would have taken. We're about half way through the line after a half hour, and suddenly one of the staff asks if we would like to meet John Barrowman now. We of course go "really!?" and say yes, we would love that! So we go there, and he's just the friendliest guy on Earth (last year, Peter Davison was at Comic Con, and hew as so nasty to my sister that she left hating his version of The Doctor ever after), being incredibly understanding of her disability and illness. He's totally flirting with this other guy next to us, giving us winks and joking about how hot he is... making that other dude blush hotter than the sun. And then he stands up and yells out "WE ARE MAKING AN EXCEPTION BUT THESE PEOPLE ARE GOING TO TAKE A PHOTO WITH ME", and then he let us take like 6 or 7 photos with him! He signed her Doctor Who stuff with extremely personal messages, gave her a word of encouragement (my sister was very disheartened because people were being extremely rude to her because she was in a wheelchair), and left my sister a weepy mess.

That dude is awesome and I'm a true fan now, I don't care what anyone says. Anyone who can make my sister smile is worth as much as money can buy :)

John Barrowman is awesome, I have been to a few cons that he was at this year and he was extremely generous and kind at each one.

I am glad your sister had a good day, hopefully she did not let some of those congoing assholes get to her

My sister is very sensitive about the situation because she feels she looks young and to her "healthy", so she feels guilty for using the wheelchair and feels other people judge her for doing so. I tell her that's not the case for most people, but it was difficult today because one guy passed her by and said loudly so she could hear "why even come to a con this crowded if you're crippled?" and another person said "in five years she'll be 500lbs." My sister is barely 150lbs :/ My sister genuinely can't walk after a set amount of time, so we always let her go for as long as she thinks she can, so she can feel like a regular person for a while, and then we have a wheelchair for backup. But it's hard for her.

Jack Barrowman simply made her forget what everyone else said and made her feel so special. I really love celebrities like that. I don't do celebrity worship, but people like my sister really do enjoy and respect their body of work, and it means a lot when someone they've loved on the screen says something like that.

It reminds me a little of my first year NYCC experience in 2010. That was when we just got in first thing in the morning, and my sister noticed Nicki Clyne - Cally from Battlestar Galactica - and walked up to her and said "hey, you're Nicki Clyne, right? I love Battlestar Galactica!" And it was true, she did. So she asked if she could take a picture, and she said "sure, no problem", but then her manager saw and ran up to us and said "no no, you can't do that, she can sign autographs behind her booth." But then Nicki Clyne proceeded to argue with her manager to let us do it! And she won :)

Well I proposed to my fiance at nycc today. Here is a video of me probably embarrassing myself some.

omg lol @ your girlfriend pretending her sword was a dick up until the last possible moment she realizes what's going on...hahaha and it's all captured for posterity. Amazing memory for you guys there hehe

but dude... duuude! Where is the REAL kiss!? Those pecks are not worthy of an engagement!

haha there is plenty of pics somewhere but she was so nervous she could barely stand or talk.

Lonely Virgil, I have found you.

Well not exactly lonely, I talked to him a little bit and he was cool about lonelyvirgil blog. Zelda and Tales panel were cool too. My feet are killing me already so tomorrow's pretty much camping @ Main Stage all day and check out the rest of the show floor on Sunday.

Also, this is way too cute not to buy one!

Oh I understand. When I proposed I could barely get out my message and was stuttering and shaking like a freaking crazed lunatic. I have pretty severe anxiety disorder, which I tend to keep under pretty good control these days, but it was like none of that mattered in that moment... my mind just evaporated into a puff of misty air and nothing made sense and I couldn't think of anything and I just sort of sounded like a mumbling weirdo

but fortunately my fiancee is extremely understanding, and she made out what I wanted when I blurted out "marry me?" and shoved the ring awkwardly out in front of me lol

The relief in that moment when she said yes felt like an elephant had walked off my chest

So curious, if folks wanted to arrange like just a quick meet-up tomorrow?

Trying to do it while at the show is a pain in the arse with terrible connection speeds and the likes.

Did anyone get a shot of some weird cosplay involving gold, candles and and a painting? My friend told me there was some weird cosplay that no one could figure out what it was but I somehow missed it. Also any shots of that Metal Gear dog? The only weird/funny things I caught were this

http://youtu.be/3RCRFuBIIpE

Cobra Commander getting more funds.

And A creative use of Doc Ocks arms.

Didn't get a chance to edit that shot yet, but yes, I did photograph it. Still have no idea what the heck it was from.

Here's a few of the random things I did get to work on. Let's play spot the GAF members!

Did pretty well panel wise - went into the Mattel one, listened to the 10 minutes where they say how the DC Universe line will die, then went over to the DC Collectibles one and heard all sorts of great news..they are really stepping their game up.

. Also went into the Avengers panel, which was really only 15 minutes of revealing the mystery covers then an extended Q&A.

Unfortunately I got shut out of the GTA panel after waiting for 40 minutes - which is odd since they went back and forth counting the line and capped it way after me - I think it extended from the room down into the food court and I was across from the speed dating room.

Grabbed a Bayonetta print (he has small ones for 25 and large ones for 50) and the new sketchbook from Adam Hughes and checked out his and his wife's pieces for the charity auction which are fantastic.

Noticed the Twitch booth had people playing Killer Instinct on their stage/couch thing.. think it's the only specifically next-gen game I saw.

Had a blast today spent a bit of time in Artist Alley and the show floor no big panels for me this year. I was really impressed by the number and quality of the Attack on Titan cosplay they were everywhere.

Yeeeah, that was painfully awkward to watch; I only watched about 2 mins of it before I closed it. It almost seemed like it was staged which was disappointing. Saw my friend working in the background. But congrats. I shared the video with the group.

Was busy the whole day doing nothing but working and loving it. If anyone was at the Autographing hall (1B hall) between 12 and 3PM, you no doubt saw me in action shouting people to move. I had zero time to check GAF/Twitter since B hall has god awful signal for Boost Mobile.

Jason David Frank had a massive line that reached all the way to the entrance to B hall. In several hours, it'll be Autographing redux and I'll be in super serious mode since it's going to be hell in there with Stewart, Shatner, Gillian Anderson, Duchovny, Hogan, plus another day of JDF madness. John Barrowman had the second longest line next to JDF's and *gasp* Felicia Day of all people.

Saw a bunch of more college friends and another friend I haven't seen in over a year. The only GAF member I saw was Devil Trigger who was on his way to the A hall panel rooms. It was all about the Crew today guys so hopefully, I'll get to see at least one other GAF member during this next day. We're going to get pushed to our limits as it's all hands on deck. I'll be doing an extra shift to help out with the madness.

A few sticking points for my day:

-The infamous Con stench was on in full swing as I caught a huge whiff of it from several folks.
-A TON of people lost their badges. You see the default lanyards everyone and their mother is wearing? Well let me frank when I say it's pretty awful and you guys should get a better lanyard from a random Show Floor booth. Even upper management is aware of that. Funny thing is as a friend and I were having a conversation about lost badges, a second later a guy comes out of the panel room, tells us that he lost his badge, and asked us where to the desk was to replace it at. Talk about a crazy coincidence. Never a dull moment at NYCC.
-A couple of attractive women on the JDF thanked me and took a picture of me for being such a boss. That was awesome. :D
-Flirted with a couple of cute looking girls I was working with. I'll keep my expectations low but I hit it off with a bunch of them including one who playfully punched me in the arm.
-Not so cool: a fellow Crew member got assaulted by an asshole Exhibitor during a panel at one of the bigger stages.

Day 3= The 120,000+ people, 400 Crew members, endless lines, and thaangs. Until then space cowboys, rest easy. Today is a new day.

Quick announcement before I head out: I will not be wearing a GAF shirt today. I will wear one again tomorrow that looks like a NES cartridge in black. Today is party night so I'll be wearing a Penguin polo off-shift. Hope to see some of you later.

Are they still doing the unsecure metal clips for the lanyards? If so I'm surprised it's taken this long for lost badges to be a noticeable problem.

Yup. Brought some secure ones from NYCC '11 to give out to a few folks. Today there's gonna be a ton of missing badges for sure. Some girl running in B hall dropped her pass yesterday.

-I had the opposite experience once this year, someone who did their best to cover their smell... really overpowering.. you can go to the other extreme!

-Yeah, I didn't want to lose my badge so just recycled an older lanyard that I had and picked one up on the show floor. I didn't wanna bother switching it on Thurs since was hectic all day so stuffed it in my bag. By the time I got home, the clip was misaligned.. and was like yeah not gonna bother using this... Seems like it was a wise decision.

Boo. The guy that molded me the new mask made it too thick. No dress up for me, coming back in with casual wear. Until next time!

Sporting my white "Booster Gold Fan Club" shirt if anyone spots me.

Also think gonna be hanging out by the Superman exhibit around 6 before I head home.

Cloud chick = mai waifu

Smh I just realized I've always hated the mai waifu meme. Yet here I am using it. She must really be the one *swoon*

So might be heading to NYC for a day trip. Without a badge how far can I get ino NYCC? At least the lobby? Wouldn't mind hanging out and just talking to people and taking pictures do cosplayers.

Small issue with getting into Artist Alley this morning - seemed like one of the security guys(not NYCC crew) was blocking even Exhibitors from getting into the room and making them line up with everyone else until about 10:15-20

Artist Alley is ridiculous right now - ended up turning back and heading back to the hotel for a bit. Going back in a bit to try to navigate it, pick up a sketch from Todd Nauck and hang out until the St. Jude's auction starts.

I was surprised I made it into the Mob City panel after getting on line like 10 minutes before it started.

Dat con food. Had a little bit of the chicken parm and pasta and felt terribly sick the entire rest of the day. :-/

I guess the trick is that dogs and burgers you can never screw up, but once it starts getting into pastas and sauces, AVOID!!!

That's my moral of the day.

I tossed away 25% of my nachos after seeing what the bottom of the tray looked like. So much grease :/

Anyways, that's it for nycc for me. Now I get to be all sad that it's over :(

Had lots of fun though. Saw a lot of cool things and took some pictures with my relatively new dslr. THAT was quite a learning experience as the lighting was all over the place. I'll get there one day.

I didn't see Jipan at all but I did very briefly meet baroness. She's nice and her cosplay was great. Still my favorite Moxxi.

Got in line for SHIELD and Walking Dead panels but missed the cutoff. I should have expected it with how late I lined up but whatever. It was nearly the end of the day so I didn't lose much.

Any early talks about attendance? It felt like there was more people this year but, at the same time, it didn't feel as congested as last.

Nice, pics of me and my fiance, thanks.

My favorite part from today was some little 3-4 year old asian girl taking a picture of me with my chestburster and she was attacking me with a glo-stick and saying "I beat the monster". I was laughing, it was the cutest thing.

Just got back from the auction a little while ago, a lot of stuff went ridiculously low but they raised 34,000 for St. Judes.

Adam Hughes' Captain Marvel piece went for nine thousand!
