New Zelda, Pokemon Monopoly Games & Super Mario Connect 4 Announced

Hopefully it will have actual geographical locations and not just characters as spaces. That fucking sucked.

I agree. I hate the idea of paying $150 to stay on "Luigi". It's why I haven't bought Nintendo Monopoly, despite it being right up my alley. But both Zelda and Pokemon have ample locations, so maybe we won't be putting a hotel on "Squirtle" or mortgaging "Ganondorf".

It's a shame Monopoly is so easy to make "licensed", it's not a game I enjoy, to put it mildly. (I don't even mind the first bit of just landing on and buying properties, but after that... ugh.)

No, it's no problem. I don't work there but I do frequent the site as I find it to be one of the better gaming news sites out there. I would say a solid majority of my threads are from their articles which I found interesting, but if you look at my posts in other threads I doubt that I link to them anywhere near as often. Because they're my go-to news source for gaming, I'm more likely to link to them even if the same article is on many other sites. Also, I only own Macs and Nintendo systems these days, that's just my preference, so that's the kind of stuff I'm better equipped to start threads and make posts about.

Thats cool, Nintendo rocks. But like in this thread you could have just linked to Zeldainformer (that's where NL got the news), so I just found it weird.

Anyways I'll probably buy the Zelda one, if I have enough money o_O

Nice! It seems Nintendo were not lying about being more open to license their IP's for merchandise. Hope it can be as strong as it was on the 90s. You know what would be cool? A line of Smarthphone cases properly licensed by Nintendo with tons of cool designs of Mario, Zelda, Pokémon, etc. They would sell tons!

Damn thread title.

Still, do want Zelda Monopoly.

Hunt down a copy of this thing and (probably) be happier

Pokemonopoly! Brilliant.

Would be nice if the playing pieces had NFC and could interface with the Wii U in some way, but I'm probably just dreaming.

Oh, I didn't realize. I always try to remember to link to the original source, too. Thanks for the head's-up!

Good shit, owned both first and second gen Pokemon Monopoly as a kid.

Hopefully gonna add that new Pokemon Monopoly to this mini collection.

Fucking missed opportunity to not call it PokeMonopoly.

Not only is Monopoly a pretty terrible game, but it's weird to think that there's a really old, mediocre game (which was supposed to be about the evils of land-grabbing and renting property) being kept alive by phoned-in licensed re-themes that a handful of companies are probably bidding on in some routine manner. It's like there is a Monopoly game on top of all of this being played in a corporate boardroom where all the spaces are whatever pop culture artifacts are still left to turn into new editions of Monopoly.
Corporate America sold it's sense of irony for $5 in 19-dickity-six

Could be fun. I remember having a Pokemon board game when I was younger, I can't exactly remember the name but it was in a black box and you traveled across Kanto 'catching' pokemon and ended up fighting the Elite Four. It was pretty fun for what it was.
I kind of want to break out my copy now...

They've been releasing Monopoly boards and Mario action figures since at least 2006/New Super Mario Bros DS. I too have a Pokemon Monopoly from Gen 1.

I have Joyride Studios figures of Luigi's Mansion, Samus, Mario/Mario Kart, etc. Their build quality is questionable though.

Nintendo should sell the Figuarts Zelda figures through their website.

I just pulled this game out a few weeks ago and played it with my family when we had were stuck inside during the ice storm in the southeast. Somehow missing some of the money, which I had to get some my Nintendo Monopoly, but still had everything else.

Ah Pokémon Monopoly. I remember them mixing up the Marsh and Soul badge on the cards and adding in Pokémon Powers when you roll doubles.

Also Master Trainer was something I enjoyed as a kid. Stopped playing it cuz one of the pogs was missing. Apparently there were sequels with the 2nd and 3rd generations, but I've never seen them.

My brother and I rewrote the rules for that game. Seriously improved it. ...Good times.

As others have said. I owned the older Pokemon Monopoly, Will absolutely be getting this one.

...I might try and design and print my own TTP Monopoly now.

Nintendo Monopoly is one of the laziest Monopoly special editions I've seen. Minimal board art, characters as the properties, ugh. It should be like Simpsons Monopoly. Properties should be things like Peach Castle, Hyrule Castle, DK Island, Big Blue, Corneria, etc. Hopefully Zelda Monopoly is better.

Yup, will buy if things to buy are properties from the Zelda universe, will not buy if it is just characters.

Ha! You landed on my Clocktown hotel!

You won a horse race! Collect 10 rupees.

Go directly to Gerudo Fortress. Do not pass Go. Do not collect 200 rupees.

It's probably been said already multiple times, but wow maxcriden... I thought you just dropped the bomb on some new games haha

yeah, sorry about that. i'll try to make it up to you! btw, have you tried the new marshmallow crisp oreos?

Please send the next new Zelda when it releases and we're even! I'll send you a copy so that you can enjoy it, too.

As for the oreos, no I haven't =( They sound tasty, but if they're American, then I'll probably never see them. The last new kinds I tried were the birthday cake and banana split kinds

Yeah, they're American. They're good too, if you like rice krispie treats. Hopefully they'll come to your neck of the woods soon!

As for Zelda, sounds like a plan!

how many fps and whats the resolution of these board games

60 fps, full resolution.

I'm seeing some starfox and other franchises on that box, fingers crossed for a starfox anime announcement.....any day now.....Would buy the bluray day 1 and I dont have a bluray player...just sayin nintendo.

I'm getting the Zelda one for sure the last monopoly I owned was the Nintendo one but my son lost a lot of the pieces, by the way just like Iwata said we're starting to see more licensed products

I don't know if I can ever play as something so simple and dumbed down as Monopoly after playing something as fun as Itadaki / Fortune Street. Like others, I'll wait and see what they do with the packaging and overall presentation.
