Wha... why? You said it yourself, they could give the series to another studio and considering the content of Bioshock, it seems like 2K is relatively open to new and unconventional ideas. I remember Levine praising 2K in every other interview, saying how much freedom Irrational has as developers.

2K could give it to another studio, I just don't know which one. 2K Marine is dead, Rod Fergusons former studio is doing Mafia 3 and there really is nowhere to put Bioshock other then at the hands of Irrational right now.

As for as much creative freedom 2K gives them, they are still at the end of the day a business that needs to turn a profit and that is done by taking that 100 million dollar franchise you spent years building and continuing on. My point is, that they could be as creative as they want, as long as the box 2K ends up selling says Bioshock on it.

Why more Bioshock? I felt like Infinites ending wrapped up everything rather nicely. Any more Bioshock games just feels redundant now.

Because it made (and cost) a lot of mony to make Infinite. Stopping now would be a waste of investment.

They might create a completely new studio as well, but that's beside the point. You're being way to pessimistic about this. There are profitable studios out there that create new IP's, even after they released something incredibly successful.

BioShock was my favourite series from last gen so I hope there's another. Personally I can see Irrational moving onto something else that will be released in 2017, something tells me there will be a sequel to infinite made by someone else ala BioShock 2. Hopefully it's as good as that 'b-team' sequel was.
