Next Gen Prince of Persia subtitle leaked

this is a new prince, just as the sands prince was a new prince. the sands of time trilogy *is* finished.

we've seen the concept art already. he looks different and doesn't have the dagger.

ghosts of the past isn't a bad title either, but i'd like to find out something more.

Okay, so it's Ghost of the Past.

Subtitle still ****ing sucks. ****ING GENERIC

I really don't understand why all you have a hard-on for Sands of Time and treat Two Thrones like an abomination. Sands of Time has the best story of the series but as a game it's aged poorly, Two Thrones is much more enjoyable gameplay-wise (Chariot races excepted).

I played through SoT a few weeks ago. The combat is ridiculously rote, the teleporting enemies are annoying, the slow motion sword-sheathe after every group of enemies cleared is maddening, and the cinemas are abominable. Two Thrones negates or improves every one of these.

The platforming in SoT is still good, but hey, guess what, Two Thrones is similarly strong in this area and adds a few new moves that make it even more varied and enjoyable.

SoT's still a good game, don't get me wrong, but it's not as good as you remember.

Yup. And yet somehow the way that it isn't charmless shit makes up for every failing.

SoT still has the superior art style and the more coherant level design... it doesn't have the awful chariot races either... but yeah, i love Two Thrones too.

Saying it "aged poorly" is still wrong, I last played it around a year ago and the platforming was just as great as it was in 2003 while the combat sucked the same amount of ass as it did in 2003. I haven't played the sequels other than the "YOU BITCH" demo of Warrior Within, but just because the sequels apparently have some features that the original lacks doesn't necessarily mean that the original "aged poorly". Do you think first Sonic the Hedgehog aged poorly because it doesn't have the spin dash?

My biggest complaint with SoT is the division of combat and platforming. I really dislike being thrown into a scenario where I must face off against a hoard of enemies until the game decides I'm finished. Occasionally, sure, that wouldn't be an issue...but every single encounter plays out in this fashion. Really brings the game down.

I really think TTT is the best game of the last gen trilogy.. best gameplay and good art/taste (if not as good as SoT..). WW had good gameplay too, but too many bugs and the dungeonpunk style sort of sucked (DIE BITCH! WTF?). SoT is the game that really got me back into 3D platforming long years after Tomb Raider though.. Lovely game. Had one of the best endings I could think of too, really sweet, I was WOWed :)

So was I the only one expecting the answer to be "Assassin's Creed"?
Now that I think about it, with some clever story telling they could link Assassin's Creed TO the POP series. Both main characters look rather alike so maybe it is actually the true next sequal to the series?

The prince is persian while altaïr appears to be an arab (from his name).

this could lead to a nice war game, lulz.

More POP?? Which reminds me, i still have The Two Thrones to play through. Heard that one is as classic as the Sands of Time. Good stuff :D
