I actually watch the trenches play...which is probably half the problem with the Bears.

Every game involving the Bears just becomes unbearably ugly offensively and defensively.

And I wouldn't call a wildly inconsistent offense to be more substantial than a consistent offense like the Falcons or Pats.

I'm aware of this. I went to school in Chicago and live there now, so I've suffered through a shitton of their games over the years. The Cards game back in '06 was the best one I remember.

But Wide receivers are so good in college, no one can cover them.

This has more to do with the fact that it's so rare to find a good secondary in the college game because you're losing guys at each position back there every 3-4 years. You have to get lucky to get a good group at the same time.

VaTech was one of the few schools that consistently fielded good units out there early in the 2000s under Bud Foster, but they've sort of fallen off in that regard.
