Watched NFL Matchup. Jaws took a crap on Ben for not recognizing blitzes and bailing too quickly. Unfortunately, I agree with him. Everyone knows I'm not a fan of Bruce Arians, but it isn't because of his play calling, although that is some of the problem. My biggest problem with Arians is his inability to coach 'em up. For all I know, he could be an offensive genius, but he can't get Roethlisberger or the running backs or the o-line to play better. The only area of offensive improvement that I've seen since he's been there is at WR, and I firmly believe that's Hines Ward's influence over that of Arians. The Steelers need to get an OC that will be better at communicating with Ben and the rest of the offense so that they are always on the same page. Something that the rest of the premier qb's in the league have, that I don't think Ben has, is a relationship with their OC's or HC's that they both understand the offenses they run and work well together. It could well be that Ben isn't capable of understanding offenses like a Manning/Brees/Brady, but I don't believe it. I do know that under Arians, he never will.

And for the record, I'm highly concerned about the Jets game later, as Ryan is going to go blitz crazy and I'm sure we'll see the o-line miss blocks, the running backs miss their assignments, receivers running odd routes and Ben running for his life. Luckily, Sanchez will get the same.
