A few choice quotes from what I assume is the fourth quarter. And its worse when he is on primetime because more haters are watching.

Whats even funnier is that Manning did everything to win that game and the kick is in no way his fault, but he still gets some "manning face!!!"

Alright, it started out as a joke but goddamn. I didn't realize there was that much hate for peyton on the board. Which makes no sense since (coming from a Texans fan) of all the "good" qbs I would want him to be the one to beat me. He doesn't really bitch about calls ala Brady or have shaky talent ala Romo/Eli or really put his team in a position that they can't dig themselves out ala other shitty qbs.

"Rattling Manning" is something defensive coordinators dream of. And him getting special treatment? Derp? Anyone watch the Houston game? We man-handled him and he didn't bitch or whine to the refs. No roughing the passer calls. Nothin. Now you can't powerbomb him like VY but I don't think most fans of the game want to see that happen to a top 10 all time qb.

He is a legitimate great, and I can't see where hate comes from.

Wow didn't meant for that to be that long :lol :lol Shit, gotta do work.

Again a joke?

Manning plays for the Colts. If you're not a Colts fan, you're probably going to "hate" him.

never even heard of an injury like that, such a perfectly timed combo hit, tough luck.

What was up with Tomlinson going visor-less
?
It was raining, dark, and humid in Buffalo. He'd have problems seeing after ten minutes with the visor on. Far cry from perfect San Diego weather.

Not a joke anymore. The manning face stuff was, but why would you hate him? I don't understand so would you enlighten me?:D

Peyton seems like one of the least-hatable great players, though. I mean, he was just fantastic on SNL. That has to count for something. Plus, my team has been irrelevant for most of his career, so I don't have any bitter loses dragging me down.

Mile-high history @NFLfootballinfo Kyle Orton's 1,419 passing yards is 2nd-best in NFL history thru 1st 4 games (Kurt Warner, '00, 1,557).

I havent watched much of the Broncos this year - but had no idea Orton put up that many yards already, crazy.

Cant wait for MNF to get here -- hopefully the Fins can bounce back from last week's tough loss and keep pace with the Jets.

or if your not a fantasy owner. the only thing i hate is when your watching peyton shit on another teams chests and you have to listening to his dick being sucked the entire game.

One thing that stuck out to me after the first four games of the season for the Giants and it's something that flies under the radar a bit considering the money put into the defensive line...

I know we spent good money on Antrel Rolle and he's certainly been a great addition but one guy I'm really happy with is Deon Grant. He's only signed for a one year deal but he's impressed the hell out of me so far. He adds great depth at Safety. He's a solid tackler and pretty good in run support. He's also solid in coverage (4 passes defensed and 2 picks) and he brings great veteran leadership. I hope we extend him for another year or two and finally dump Michael Johnson. The old man has plenty left in the tank and I'd like to see him remain a Giant.

I thought you had to be cleared bionic?
You do have to be cleared by an independent doctor, but there are no standards past that as far as I am aware of. For some guys it is not that hard to fake or pass those tests (hell a lot of guys used to fake their way back into the games they got a concussion in). You need honesty from the player for these tests to mean anything.

I am in strong favor of keeping a player out for at least a week following any concussion. Especially quarterbacks but ideally all players.

Be interesting to see how the Bears handle it.

surely the smelling salts lobby is torn up about all this concussion concern?

I would guess the Bears keep him out this week for sure.

I was curious how his exam went. I thought I heard he was scheduled for an exam this morning, but I haven't seen anything about it on the Interwebs yet.

Denver had 19 yards rushing in their win over Tennessee.
Detroit has not won a NFL game in Wisconsin since 1991.

And Roddy White of ATL, about stripping the ball from SF's Nate Clements after he intercepted it:
ON THE SWAT: “I just watch them everyday at practice. I watched them get the ball out on me sometimes at practice. You know you just learn from that. Anytime that you see a defensive player carrying the ball, they are not used to it so you know you have a chance.”

MORE ON THE SWAT: “I knew he was going to try and score. Once he started running for the sideline, I knew he was going to try and score. I was just telling myself to get there, just get there. I got there and got the ball out.”

Whew, what a lucky break for us.

the who what now?

I think anyone involved in the NFL would have to have a bad case of career suicide to take concussions lightly.

You don't fake the test. You fake the original barometer test and get lower scores so you can't fail the test when you actually get a concussion. That said, there are better ways to diagnose them these days and teams are being real careful about concussions these last couple of years. If Cutler really had a concussion, and not just a hissy fit, I don't expect to see him out there.

In the olden days, smelling salts were used to wake up someone who had been knocked unconscious. "He's up, send him back in!"

never heard of smelling salts? It was not a serious statement anyway.

Seriously lucky. Dahl and Roddy saved Ryan from a ton heat today. Game was way too close for comfort. The offense looked like shit most of the game. I think it's mostly because our O-Line and pass protection got their asses whooped by the 49ers D. The running game didn't really get it going and you could see the pressure getting to Ryan from how off alot of his throws were.

Oh well, a W is a W and I will take 3-1 all day.

storybook, good job on FMT's avatar.

As bad as Ryan looked at times, he still finished with respectable numbers sans the 2 INTs. Him and Roddy made good use of their second chance too. Defense played ok but they really missed Weatherspoon on third downs. I figured we'd get all we could handle from the 9ers since they are/were desperate.

Clements clearly wasn't thinking. If he scores, they go up 21-13 which would've still given our offense about a minute to even it up whereas had he just taken a knee or ran it out of bounds, they could've killed the clock.

Also, nothing but the best for FMT! :D

Looks like Merriman's been sharing his steroids with his teammates. Steve Gregory is suspended for 4 games for testing positive for PED.

Pats fans never get the chance to see their own coach showing class.

Also, you might want to get your tear ducts checked by a doctor. 32 straight months of crying can't be healthy. :lol

:lol Bitter tears are all some of these Pats fans have left. One day the wound may heal but the scars will never go away.

Ashamed of the O-line.

I have never seen a group of people so bad at their jobs.
watch more steelers and the offensive lines efforts.. although this year has been better compared to the past few years.

you really think life support and JA will risk sitting him out when their jobs are on the line this season? they got to make the playoffs or they are getting canned, unless its real serious i can see them pushing for cutler to play

At least the Bears D is decent. Their offense is pathetic. They need a running game.

Pats D suck arse so at least we got that going for us tonight. :(

at least? We're definitely favorites. You can't count on Brady being Brady when he is Miami. We'll at least get pressure on him, Henne will have all day. Our O is better than theres, Our D is better than theres. Only way we lose is Brady has an insane game in my mind and we still should be able to keep up.

People at the game we're saying that he got his concussion after his first sack.

During comercial breaks he just be kneeling in the endzone by himself.

There were numerous times were he started to walk to the sidelines.

He should have been taken out earlier.

I feel like if you put Forte behind any other oline in the league he would put up good numbers. It's hard to run when half of the defense is in your backfield before you get the handoff.

Rosarch said:
Todd Collins didn't play too well, but notice how the sacks stopped piling on when he came in. And he's old, rusty, and immobile.
And he still got knocked out of the game.

You think the wildcat be effective against the Pats? Sparano still has faith in it even though the fins made so strange calls last week against the Jets.

If you take a game or two off from a concussion you might lose your job when the newer guy comes in and outplays you (see Kolb as the latest example of this). And sometimes you never get another chance to get back on the field (at least with the same team).

I can definitely understand the mentality of guys who rush back from head injuries (or injuries or any kind).

However they do it, there are some guys for whom it is very difficult to correctly diagnose. Even with all the new rules the Eagles let Stewart Bradely (I think that is the name of the player) come in a few minutes after he clearly got KTFO. That is why I favor making the player sit at least one game after the concussion.

I strongly doubt they were this bad. Even if they were at least they could run block.

That's not what I mean.

There's not one player I actually hate in the NFL, but there are a shit load I LOVE to make fun of. Peyton is one, and while I quietly respect his accomplishments on the field you bet your ass i'm going to jab him every chance I get. "Manning face" (as well as his severely apologetic fanbase) are easy ways to do it.

If they had an OL, they'd have a decent running game. Forte is legit, but they run some God-awful plays for him. Where are the screens?
