Jason Allen slipped on the new sod. Jets fans even watch the games? I know it's been a hard thing to do for so long but don't make shit up.

What the fuck, when I asked that question I was actually asking because I didn't remember, not because I was trying to make shit up!
Beating your sorry asses was two weeks ago; the details are unimportant now aside from the score/result.

As for the Cheatriots, they won that game because the Dolphins shot themselves in the foot last night with turnovers and whathaveyou - Dark Lord Brady and his traveling circus aren't really good anymore. Don't turn the ball over, get at that QB and the team dies.

We fucking lost to the Browns last year because some idiot thought it would be a good idea to play at night in Cleveland in the middle of winter. Except it was so fucking cold that no one could throw the ball worth a damn and it came down to running and special teams (the two things the Browns were almost average at giving them a big advantage over the Steelers).

you lost to the Browns because Mangini pulled out the same game plan he had in 2007 when you lost to the Jets.

I never realized that Mangini had control over the weather.

He really is a Mangenius. No wonder the Browns have become such a powerhouse since he got there.

I misunderstood it as sarcasm, my apologies. But it is your team against a division opponent. The end result isn't the only important detail. I THINK NEW MEADOWLANDS WILL HAVE SOLID GRASS FROM ENDZONE TO ENDZONE! :lol

And yes the Cheatriots do suck, this was as big a fluke as flukes get. Losing to the Jets was something I could live with but this just sucks.

Yea, good thing Tomlin/Arians could adjust to something they've seen before.

Weird thing to say coming from a fan of a team who's stadium has the shittiest field in the league..

@Drizzler

Stop trying to defend the Fins, man. That loss was an epic meltdown on national televison. There is nothing to defend, it has been poor coaching and mental breakdowns at home.

The coaching staff cannot get the team fully prepared. Against the Jets the secondary and pass rush were not there, we lose. A week later they seem to fix the secondary and pass rush and now special teams collapses, we lose. I bet special teams will be serviceable for the Green Bay game but some other unit will not just be weak but completley not in the game.

30 MPH winds and temperatures 20 degrees below zero?

WTF are you talking about?

Point taken.

Though that field has bitten us in the ass many times as well on missed FGs so it goes both ways. Before Reed arrived we had a real problem finding a kicker who could kick on our garbage field. Now if only someone would tell Tomlin that it is hard to kick on our field...

what did the 49ers do to fix their field? Seemed like they had a lot of problems for a few years.

Im going to being having this argument for two+ fucking weeks, but here it goes.

Jets OLine is fucking good. No pass rush and our secondary is not good enough to stay on people with no pass rush. Pass rush dominated pats line at times, this resulted in the secondary playing well. The secondary is by far our biggest weakness and completely dependant on our pass rush (with the exception of VD). Good to see it was just the Jets OLine and not our D Line after this game. Crowder returns as well. This means the slot receivers and TEs that have been having their way with us will have a much tougher time. Crowder gets to blitz tons while Dansby hangs out in the middle of the field with much less stress. Dansby has said himself how Crowder makes him a much better player.

Nowhere am I defending the Special teams, just saying I have faith the blocked kicks/punts won't be a regular thing.

Crowded the line of scrimmage and then dropped back in coverage. Ben was flummoxed the whole time. Mangini sucks, but he's been Ben's kryptonite 2/3 times he's faced him so far.

talisayNon said:
Eh I don't buy that comparison. The Jets had a decent defense back in 2007. The loss against the Browns was the first time Ben lost against them in his career and I put it down to the conditions which made it impossible for anyone to throw the ball (the only option the Steelers had on offense last year).

We will see in 2 weeks how good Mangini is against Ben assuming he is still employed with the Browns by then.

two weeks in a row and wasn't it an issue in preseason as well?

It's fucking special teams, I don't even take them into account when I predict games. What do you want me to say? The rest of my argument stands.

Our Kickoff coverage has been pretty meh all year too.

"don't listen to my predictions" :)

Atlanta has two road games against Cleveland and then Philadelphia. I think we can beat Cleveland but Philadelphia with Vick back in two weeks may be a tougher chore. Then we have the Bengals at home. I think that game will be very close. Two good receivers against our secondary, that scares me.

I agree. I can't see Vick being ready to come back from an rib injury in 2 weeks though. I think we will get lucky once again this season and end up facing Kolb.

wow that was quick

The base is rabid down here, last nights game is watercooler talk. I was having my cable serviced at around 9am and the repair guy just looked at me in shock and was like "can you believe what happened last night?"

Edit: Sparano didn't fire him I would bet, it was probably the owner Ross throwing a fit to the GM.

I picked the Bills this week, it's not like I do this for a living it's a discussion board. My picks are backed up by reason and I explain them. Just because other people make correct predictions for the wrong reasons doesn't mean I didn't know how we would handle their D and how their O was going to have trouble. I am however stumped as to how Sanchez has been able to make it to week 5 with no picks.

Anerythristic's post is typical Miami overreactions, I will defend the fins as long as their is something to defend and there is plenty to defend with our current team.

flack-jacket though it might limit his mobility a bit

You can come back that quickly but I don't recommend it. They make you wear a big ass jacket that definitely hampers your movements and of course with your ribs all fucked up you get scared of getting hit (understandable).

I think 3 weeks is probably reasonable though.

Good news for Vick is that the injury wasn't to his legs so he won't be out of shape when he comes back.

Glad Miami got rid of the ST Coach.....he has been an issue since he arrived. 3 years ago when the Fins went 11-5 and won the AFC East, Kick Coverage was horrible all season and called out weekly by fans. Its continued to be bad throughout this pre-season and regular season as well.....so something had to change.

As a Fins fan, last night was one of the most frustrating losses I have watched since the Dan Marino era began 26+ years ago. They played embarrassingly bad in the 2nd half --- after shooting themselves in the foot multiple times in the 1st half to kill solid drives.

Kick Return for a TD
Punt Block
Kick Block for a TD
4 Interceptions
6 Penalties

Basic fundamental shit they couldnt get right....so frustrating to watch. Hopefully they can get their shit together during the bye week and come out of it quickly to stay above .500. I really dont want to see them go 2-3, 2-4, etc....because as soon as you are behind the curve the rest of the season quickly becomes a game of catch-up.

Limiting his mobility will help us out. Still seems kind of risky for him to come back quickly especially with his style play where he gets hit a lot.

Philadelphia Eagles QB Michael Vick said late Monday that he expects to miss 1-2 weeks with a rib injury suffered in Sunday's loss to the Washington Redskins.

"There is some cartilage damage up in there and a small fracture up in there, so maybe a week, maybe two weeks," Vick said on WXTG-FM radio. "We'll have to see."

A decent chance of him being back. But he may not be running for a while.

It was a good thing I got that news after my early-morning therapy session.

Shut up, it was planned several weeks in advance.

Anyway you slice the cake. Miami fucked up. Two losses at home against your two biggest division rivals. Pats would have been in the same boat except neither would have been home games. It's will be hard to going to the Jets and Pats to get those splits in Dec and Jan.

I'm not denying Miami is pretty fucked and aiming at wildcard unless the Jets have a meltdown but I was defending specific attacks by other posters and I have to because Miami fans can be insane and just expect each team to be fucking perfect or they want to start over again. I am tired of it is all.

Vick throwing is still better then Kolb.
The bigger question mark to me McCoy's rib.
Seems the McRib curse has been passed on.

I like us defending the pass better than us defending the run.

In regards to Drizzlers comments --- Ill agree with the perception that some Fins fans...well, any teams fans really....want to just start over from scratch when shit goes wrong. But the reality is the team is 2-2 and has more talent than they have had in years. Even coming off of the loss to the Jets, I was still excited about the team.

Did they shit the bed last night? Absolutely. But Im still excited about the team and the rest of this season. Im still a fan of Henne's and think he will be a good QB and I think the defense will continue to get better as the season progresses.

It's a tough loss to swallow......but last time they had a game like this was 3 years ago @ Arizona. I think the score was 41-10 or something, making them 0-3 and going into the bye week, and that's when everything turned around. So hopefully this is their eye opener for 2010 that ultimately makes the team instead of breaks it.

I'm going to assume you're talking about Vick's running not a normal run game. We've been pretty stout against the run except those damn draw plays againt SF which I think was more due to Weatherspoon being out.

Dunno why that but is there, I agree with you. Winning the Division after losing both home games to the Pats and Jets is some wishful thinking now though but who knows, we can compete with both of them so it isn't that farfetched.

They were ranked 18th in 2007 which is the definition of decent!

4-12 was there record, Yards/Game defensive ranking is so misleading.....so if the Jets at 18th is decent then the Giants 2009 at 13 should be good.

I'm not saying Kolb is good, because he looked rank on Sunday, but since the OC has a chance to adjust to him, he's not going to be checking down as much this week. We'll see, I suppose.

Still think he's better suited to backup duties.

I don't see what's so misleading about that. they got that record by facing other teams. Based on their record, the Giants were better.

levious said:
yeah, decent would at least have to be in the top half
Your standards are too high. There are 32 teams in the league. If you are 16th in any category you are average. Two below that to me is decent.

I never said those suckers were good!

I am not going to win this argument though because we usually only talk about the best (Steelers) and the worst (Niners) and don't devote much to discussion to the average (Cowboys, Patriots, etc.).

It is rare you see people try this hard to try and come up with excuses for a player that has never shown us anything.

Even Carson Palmer fans gave up on him.
