NFL Week 9 2010|OT| - Did we step into a time warp?

Sometimes I hate being a Chargers fan. There are way too many LT homers among us that absolutely HATE Ryan Mathews. He is having a typical rookie season and has made some mistakes but you should hear these so called "fans" calling him a bust, etc. And basically calling for him to be replaced by Tolbert (:lol ) permanently. I hope that RM proves them wrong, because I've met him and he is a great kid and doesn't deserve that hate so early in his career.

Born in Los Angeles, California, Reid attended John Marshall High School and worked as a vendor at Dodger Stadium as a teenager. He also played youth sports in Los Angeles, and among his coaches were Pete Arbogast, who is the radio announcer for the USC football team, and formerly the radio play-by-play man for the Cincinnati Bengals. In 1971, at age 13, Reid appeared live on Monday Night Football during the Punt, Pass, and Kick competition.[1] Reid played offensive guard and tackle at Brigham Young University for head coach LaVell Edwards.

At the same time?

I always find it humorous when people point to 2 minute drill statistics of mediocre quarterbacks and say "see, he is awesome!"

For God's sake, it's optimum circumstances. The defense is generally playing soft, they cannot change personnel quickly, they leave the middle of the field wide open and constantly react instead of attack.

Plus, it's the Lions.

And they were in the prevent defense where any QB can pad stats.

Douglas hasn't exactly been helping himself with some of his head scratching route running on occasion. He's supposed to be a speed guy but he consistently lets the DB cut him off. Jenkins has been doing well. The offense has looked a lot more effective since his return. Finneran also made a nice couple of grabs. I'm glad to see Turner running over people these last few games, just wearing down the defenses.

Special teams has got to be fixed. Should be a good game against the Ravens. They have a statistically balanced D while we have a statistically balanced O.

Ah ok. I'm going to start watching Douglas more. We need to get more people involved offensively. I've been impressed with Jenkins too and Finneran is turning out to be a good go to possession receiver as well.

The Ravens scare me. Pittsburgh II coming to town. I hope Mike Smith works on some quick slants and screens or Ryan may get eaten up. He got pretty roughed up by Tampa Bay yesterday.

Same here. Very tough defense. It's going to be trouble if we get behind.

I was thinking today about Al Harris being released by the Packers. Anybody think any teams will bite on that? He's paid a decent amount this year, but I could see a team like the Texans who really need the help snagging him up hoping that it will give them that edge.

Giants are 13.5 point favorites over the Cowboys next week. :lol
I'll take the over. I'm not sure that's a big enough spread.

Fuuuuuuuuuu... :lol Guy I am playing against in fantasy has Nicks. :(
This is never a problem if you're like me and own Nicks on ALL of your fantasy teams. :D

Still a perfect 9-0 in the Neo GAF Yahoo! Fantasy League.
(5-4 in the Trendy Hipsters league but at least I've scored more points than anyone else.)

Ryan has missed him on occasion as well. I think it's a combination of them still trying to build some timing and Douglas trying to get his legs under him. He missed his entire second year so you have to keep that in mind as well.

One play in particular, can't remember which quarter, Douglas looked like he was going to get past his man, Ryan threw it deep, and the DB just cut Douglas off his route completely. Douglas is still raw when it comes to learning how to get separation in the NFL.

That has to be one of the biggest spreads for a game between these two teams I've seen. Part of me doesn't want to underestimate any opponent the Giants play but man considering what the Cowboys have put on the field the past two weeks...:lol :lol

Say what you want about the Cowboys, at least they put points on the board

Did I say something about the Cowboys? I merely laughed at a point spread.

Someones got something up their ass this morning, not only do Pack fans talk the most on here but they are also sore winners apparently. :lol

Actually I was hoping you would take my bait, say he scored on prevent defense so that I could quote your post on how good Sanchize is in two-minutes drill.

You sidestepped the trap, nicely done.

Fucking Wile E Coyote over here. :lol

So many quarterback-led comeback 4th quarter wins this week. Favre, Sanchez, Cutler, Campbell, and Rivers. 3 of these from double digits.

He can't hold on to the ball and he can't stay healthy. A lot was expected from him, so it's understandable that people are upset.

Fucking excellent. Exactly what I wanted. Now lose to the Giants then run the table to go 8-8, keep Garrett, and be stuck in the same hell the 49ers are in with Singletary. :D
That is one fucking scary hell.

The Texas DPS are cracking down on speeders heading into Dallas .
For the first offense, they give you 2 Dallas Cowboy tickets. If you get stopped a second time, they make you use them.

Well played sir, but I am a realist and understand that Sanchize two-minute drill did come against the Lions that was also aided by a poor play call giving him more time.

Slow day here as well.

poor guy inherited a terrible team and a even worse qb. got all the blame for a poorly run organization. he was a scapegoat. cowgirls wont win a single game for the rest of the year
I never thought I would agree with you so much.

What Jerry Jones should do is fire his GM.....wait

With Phillips out, I'm curious who takes over the defensive play calling duties. Pasqualoni?

I said it yesterday during the game, there's no way Wade left that game with his job intact. The team quit. Plain and simple.

Terrible team? They have huge gaps on the offensive line mostly, but they have plenty of skill players and front 7 guys.

A warning to teams that don't properly invest in the trenches.
