And after I was feeling so good going into the bye with this win.

Puddles said:Jacob Tamme might be the ww pickup of the year at this point.
woodchuck said:I might look into James Davis. Shannahan is a fucking psycho. Who knows, he might start this guy at some point at RB.
and WW pickup of the year is obviously Peyton Hillis
Puddles said:Forgot Hillis was WW. He's been starting since week 1, no? I think someone in my league actually picked him up before the week 1 games. Could be wrong though.
He said it was a bad call, he wished he had not made the call and that it was his fault it didn't work out as planned. Right, right, and right again.
"I thought we could get a half a yard and stay on the field," Kubiak said.
He was right about that, too. Well, half right. Matt Schaub did get about a half a yard, but he was about a half a yard short of the required distance for the Texans to stay on the field.
How did Kubiak not know that the Texans needed more than a full yard - it was officially listed as 2 yards by the statistician - at such a crucial moment in the game?
When a yard's not a yard
"I was looking right there," Kubiak said. "I thought we needed half a yard. I still think we get a yard in that situation."
You do? Uh, I don't. How much do you want to bet?
Quarterback sneaks are not designed to gain 2 yards. Not knowing or fully understanding down-and-distance is an inexcusable offense for a coaching staff.

DeaconKnowledge said:On Saturday I read Simmons' article that said the Patriots are the clear number 1 in the league, on Sunday they lose by 20 points to the Browns.
So delicious.
funkmastergeneral said:Even the best teams have some rough weeks. Pats still are going to be super bowl champions this year, and at least twice more before Lord Brady retires.
Wes said:Well as the Browns are playing themselves out of a top pick in next year's draft at the moment, and thus unlikely to get AJ Green, what other WRs are worth watching for a 1st round pick next year? I know DE is likely to be another need with Rogers probably off and WR is a big need too and I can't see the Browns using a 2nd round pick on a WR again to go along with MoMass and Robiskie if at all possible.
WanderingWind said:For some reason I didn't think the Browns had their 1st round pick anyway?
Wes said:Pretty sure we do. It's just the Raiders who don't have a 1st round pick as they traded it to the Pats.
funkmastergeneral said:Which is fucking bullshit that this season the Raiders decided to not implode.
Worst teams in football dominating coverage is absurd.woodchuck said:jesus christ, can you guys stop bitching about cowboys coverage? Do you think ESPN arbitrarily picks a team to talk about? Cowboys coverage gets ratings even when they suck. If you want them to stop talking about the Cowboys, kill all the Cowboys fans nationwide so they'll stop tuning in.
Hasn't it been established that Simmons is mentally deficient and everyone is boggled on why he's so popular?DeaconKnowledge said:On Saturday I read Simmons' article that said the Patriots are the clear number 1 in the league, on Sunday they lose by 20 points to the Browns.

He's the "Twilight" of the sports world.

:lol :lol :lol
funkmastergeneral said:Remember when the Lions were relevant? Yea, me neither.
jmdajr said:FF wise, I'm giving Blunt a second chance. Did they just not give him enough carries? Pretty disappointing yesterday after all the hoopla.
also bummed about bills and lions losing! So close on those predictions!
grrr.

But yes, Browns beating Bellicheck is yummy good.
I feel better about Harris situation this morn'.

Well they face Carolina next week. I'm taking the plunge!
Also starting Matt Ryan next week!

How old are you? 12? Remember Barry Sanders? We still cling to those highlights.
If our dumbass coach trots out our punter instead of our rookie defensive tackle to kick the extra point, we beat the media darling Jets.
Yeah. You are correct (assuming he can't play). Timing threw me for a loop though.eznark said:This makes perfect sense. As to people worries about the Vikings claiming him.....they have THREE wins. I hope they do claim him because it means he won't go to a team with a shot at the playoffs.

It's funny because it's true.
eznark said:To be fair the Lions weren't oft relevant with Sanders either.
Why didn't he just go for 2?Plinko said:Hurr durr

storybook77 said:The Falcons are pretty good against the run. When Weatherspoon gets back, they'll be even more solid. Pass defense, specifically on third downs remains a concern. We're ranked 26th against the pass but the vaunted Steelers D is ranked 25th against the pass.
Of course, part of that comes from teams playing from behind.
Spurlock almost single handedly beat us.
eznark said:Holy fuck. I was just talking with my wife about Carson Palmer which led me to pull up the 2003 quarterback draft class. OHMYGODWHATTHEFUCK. It has to be one of the worst draft classes in the history of football when it comes to quarterbacks.
Best part is, even in that group of clowns, fuck-ups and failures....Tony Romo still went undrafted. :lol
Wes said:Wow at the Cowboys. What a mare they're having.
True, though Brooks Bollinger is awesomeWanderingWind said:What's really sad is that even as bad as that class was, the QBs were pretty much picked in order of effectiveness. Sure, Palmer sucks, but a lot less than Leftwich.
