NFS Carbon Wii shots (for real this time)

Well one other negative thing we can take away from this is the lack of overscan...

Like so many PS2 and GC games, there are small black bars on the left and right when stretched. XBOX managed to avoid this completely...why not Wii?

Graphically, I only expect the Wii to be a marginal upgrade on what the Xbox offers. Theres no reason Wii games should look like current gen games (except maybe Zelda but thats a special case).

There´s a very good reason in fact: launch titles.

Here's the thing, though...

You don't choose Wii for graphics. Developers realize that the Wii won't be able to keep up with the other machines and most probably aren't interested in pushing graphical boundaries on that machine as a result. They will instead concentrate on what makes the Wii unique. XBOX was widely considered the most powerful console last generation, so you had developers aiming to squeeze the most out of it. I don't think we'll see that same kind of effort from most developers on the Wii (on the graphics front) and, as such, the system will likely trail behind the XBOX (for the most part).

This may not be the case at all, but it certainly seems to be thus far.

There is nothing wrong with them. What are you expecting?
I'm expecting, at the very least, Xbox quality graphics. NFS Carbon Wii doesn't even deliver me that. Inexcusable.

And? The Xbox 360 had PD0 as a launch title and that looked better than anything current gen. Given that the Wii is essentially an Xbox 1.5 it is unforgivable that they haven't already maxed out its performance.

A lot of stupid comments there.

PSP grafics? XD

Please, wait oficial shots not from tv screens. PSP can't compare to this. And of course, not all the tracks will look like that. Bah, a lot of stupids comments on this thread. Wii is underapreciated tech side.

I know that launch games generally look pretty shitty but what we've seen from the Wii barely looks like theres any visual upgrade at all.

In the end, I doubt it will, but have you taken a look at the PSP shots? They actually DO look suprisingly comparable.

What are you people talking about? This is a very poorly lit and lo-res photo taken of a crappy tv picture. Yes, it looks like ass but you can't even see what is going on. It is all blue and fuzzy. Plus it is still at an early stage in development. I think we can safely assume that the final image is not going to look like this.

I don't like most episodes of the NFS franchise but you all seems to be blind for me !
That's not that bad.
Trully under the 360 and PS3 but much more beautiful than the older NFS PS2 versions !
No renders here, just real bad taken on screen photos.

Wii CGA graphics confirmed

Could someone inform Nintendo that i rather play cargames with a steeringwheel, and not a hitech-version of Harry Potters magic stick.

Wii is current gen class tech wise. Third parties are not gonna change their assets just for a marginaly more powerfull hardware. The only thing you can expect is current-gen graphics with smoother framerate.

Plus all those games are late launch titles.

While these are launch titles (and this is EA shovelware)... Wii is reportedly just GC++, with a very familiar feel (in fact, GCs were used as preliminary dev kits, correct?)... which kind of makes you think we'd be seeing better quality initially. The whole point of Wii development is easiness/familiarity and, comparatively at least, low cost. We're already seeing games on 360/PS3 that far far far far far far outstrip anything possible on their predecessors. With Wii, we are seeing games that actually look WORSE than Gamecube in many cases! There is absolutely NO ****ING excuse.

Well there is one; (very) early builds.
There are still several months to go for most titles.

Doesn't mean there won't be any cheap ports, but at least wait until final release...

Nintendo doesn't really have to be informed. Peripheral manufacturers are no doubt already aware.

It can easily be done by just having a shell with even no connection to the Wii/Wii remote that'll fit the Wiimote since it has the sensitivity already.
Or you can just take your wheel off your car and use superglue.
