NFS:Most Wanted U [Criterion 'definitive' version]footage, info,Previews and more

Yeah, I'm just surprised it doesn't get called out more, ie slapping a diff name on the same racing physics. I'm sure it's fun, but I cant see wanting to own, Paradise, Hot Pursuit and this. It'd be too much of the same thing for me.

Still glad for more good games on my Wii U.

Yeah no one knows what Retro is working on. New IP or old one redone or another Metroid. I do think we can safely removed Donkey Kong from the running though with the Wii game (Retro's last game) being ported to the 3DS. No point in releasing another DK platformer at the same time. They can get away with that crap with Mario but not Donkey Kong I think. It's even debatable that worked as well as they thought with even Mario.

That there is a lower player count on the Wii U version of Need for Speed is disappointing. That same thing happen with Call of Duty as well when it came to the ground war mode. For all the effort seemingly have gone into the game people need to still remember that it is still a port. A game designed for the other systems. Always expect (not accepted mind you) something to be wrong. It's not great originally thought and that's all I needed bring me back to reality for the short time I was flying high.

What we really need now is a Shinji Mikami exclusive.

I think it's because compared to the last generations, there are now more options for sim racers [and less demand apparently]; it was only Gran Turismo before, but now there's Dirt series, Forza on 360, NFS Shift, and middle grounds like Grid.

come on, it has been on the market for like 3 months and we are getting all these games, and you call it slow? :D And the eShop support has been miles better than Wii so far.

To be honest, the only reason I haven't bought a Wii U is the price point; even the basic model is too much for me, considering that you have to buy a TV to play most games too; so for now I am considering a 3DS XL next time it goes on promotion.

But when if I buy a next gen home console, I already know what it should be. Along with Wii BC and VC, it already has enough games for me to justify the purchase. [the only thing which really bothers me on Wii U, is lack of analog shoulder for sim racers, which are my favorite racer; but for them I will probably continue playing whatever is released on the PC]

My guess is this is why they dropped it down. How hard is it to get a full group on the other versions?

It's still very easy. I was just online yesterday. Full room within seconds.

Need for Speed games sell big numbers. I have no doubt you'll be able to play online with Wii U very easily for at least a month.

I'm a huge fan of this game since buying it at launch on the 360. I loved the offline mode, and the online is just a bonus to me. I'm tempted to pick this up on the Wii U just for the improved graphics and the ability to play it on the Gamepad screen.

Yes, better to ignore, great plan.

I might buy this game just to support the extra effort and set precedents.

The additions and improvements sound really awesome.

Not an internet player lately, so the 6 players does not bother me. Sorry Wii U bashing guys!!

Ground war has been updated to 18 players.

Based on the guys they hired, it's most likely an action-adventure type game.

I'm sure it'll impress.

That firs shot is an outstanding difference in particular!

The Xbox 360 version definitely looks flat in comparison but how much of that is due to the darker time of day in that version versus the Wii U version? Maybe a little of both, but the image quality is markedly better on the Wii U game.

The 360 screenshots are also full of compression artefacts: This comparison is still useless.

If you want to live in a fantasy world where reduced gameplay options mean improvement, be my guest. Just because you don't care about online gameplay (which you should with this game) doesn't mean it isn't important.

Holy shit dude, cut it out already.
He's not saying that 2 less online players are an improvement, he says that PC textures and assets on a console game are.

Just because it's 6 players insteda of eight doesn't mean that this version is worse. It has slightly gimped online features, so what? Everything else seems to be better and improved.

I didn't care much about online in Burnout Paradise. Does this make me the fucking anti-christ in your eyes?
I had so much frickin' fun playing that game alone and actually not quite as much fun playing it online.
You just have to accept that there are people who can have fun alone just as much as with other people.

What, POSITIVE WII U NEWS??

It's plain to see why these comparison shots are worthless. While the Wii U might feature some graphical enhancements, they won't be all that monumental.

But I remember the same thing happening with Black Ops 2, where people were seeing all kinds of improvements for the Wii U version based on a badly cut YouTube fan video.

Those screens look great. I really want to support this game because it looks like they really out work into this port. Hopefully I'll be able to afford.

Maybe they can also fix the handling so the cars don't feel like fucking boats. This was seriously the worst controlling racing game i've played all decade. Tons of understeer, and if you want to turn even the mildest corner you have to handbrake violently.

The difference was that Blops didn't really have any advantages and this game clearly does feature nicer textures at the very least from those shots, compression artifacts be damned.

Come on man, give it a break.

Calling texture quality from such an absurdly compressed still image is pretty much impossible. I'm not saying there aren't going to be any graphical enhancements, but we haven't seen any so far.

wow, that looks good. this is a seriously great game, so starved wii u owners should snap this up if they haven't already.

Can you see the difference in the wall on the left in first set of screens?

Completely different lighting situation (different in-game time of day) coupled with shoddy compression: There may or may not be improvement. Comparing two different in-game situations doesn't prove anything.

They're both pretty shoddy quality. The 360 quality is worse, but it doesn't take a genius to see the improvements.

Calling incomparable screenshots comparable apparently doesn't take a genius either.

You do know the dev has said in a video that it is running the pc textures which do make it look better right? this isnt just made up.

Do you really believe the screenshots to be incomprable? Even neglecting the time of day you can clearly see texture differences dude. Or do you not see them?

This troll is a crack up though. He's trying really hard, but falls on his face each time. But he has persistence, I'll give him that.

I see compression artefacts, if that's what you're talking about. There's no way to call texture quality from these shots.

You're getting pretty desperate: Maybe you could show me why you think this comparison is in any way valid?

Me? I really don't care lol. The Wii U version seems to upset you a lot judging by all your posts in this thread. Look at the Wii U vid and compare it yourself, but don't come back saying it's the same, that would be foolish. Peace.
