NG+ is out for The Witcher 3

Would be cool to have an iron man difficulty for NG+.

Looking forward to this either way, though I'm probably not gonna get started until atleast the first expansion is out, mainly because The Phantom Pain comes out soon. I'll probably play Witcher 3 again while waiting for Fallout 4 to get a decent amount of mods.

Is NG+ just starting the game with all your ending gear and level?
So all enemies will be the same and located in the same area on the map?

Considering I just got to the Isle of Mists on my first play through, I don't think I have it in me to play NG+. Game is just too long and Winter is coming...

That tweet has been sent today, Monday 17th, so him saying "by tomorrow" he means by Tuesday 18th.

Timezone is CEST +1

Thanks - I'm updating the OP on the fly with this via mobile.

I'm gonna assume that everyone is going to have it today EXCEPT us Playstation Witchers - that'll be tomorrow sigh (if your interpretation is correct, which it very well could be.)

Man, I'm not sure I want to spend another 100h on this game, no matter how good it is. Although I guess it would be much faster the second time around since the time spent in combat would go down significantly. And those inventory improvements...

Ah, fuck it. Reinstalling.

You can up the difficulty in NG+ if you wish (I finished it on normal and my NG+ is gonna be Death March).

I've played NG on Death March so unless they introduce a new difficulty or greatly increase the mob health pools with levels I think the combat will be much faster. Not that I'm complaining or anything :).

I got the NG+ update on the PS4. Restarted the game. I don't see the option for NG+ anywhere! How do I launch it? (and yes I have beaten the main campaign!)

Someone said to load up your completed game, quit, and NG+ should appear on the menu.

The NG+ ramps the difficulty and the characters levels of enemies.

They stated that if you played the game and finished under a level 30 when you NG+ you automatically become a level 30.

As far as I know the NG+ update isn't out on PS4 yet.

Sure you don't misstake it for the 1.08 patch that wrongly says "NewGame+ support" in the Update history?

EDIT: Tryed it on Xbox One, when you start a new game, you get the chance to turn NG+ on/off, after you choose difficulty and whether you want tutorial on/off.

This.

Would be a significant re-script job in the coding to have the game identify with new triggers for all vendors and opponents to avoid 'doubling-up' on certain cards, not to mention several quest-lines where unique cards are the focal point and not just a mere reward.

People brazenly miffed about the decision have not really thought the necessity to reset through properly. Besides, this ONLY really affects people hoping to continue to trophy hunt the collector trophy. For everyone else it should NOT be a big deal at all for a few reasons stated in this thread already.

Just have the missions about unique cards still happen and the characters just act as if you don't have the card. Then when you finish the quest, you don't get the card if it's already owned.

Damn straight it affects people going for the trophy. Why is that less important? There are lots of missable unique cards and NG+ is perfect for getting any you missed the first time around (without needing to collect EVERYTHING again).

Cool but wheres the celebratory Steam/GoG sale to go along with this milestone?
C'mon CD Project. Please?

Keep an eye on GMG they have it for $30 right now, with an extra 23% voucher that works, it's out of stock right now but I would imagine they would get more in soon.

So you wouldn't prefer it if NPCs had complete decks for NG+ and put up even more of a challenge?

I know it's extra work for them, but simply taking away our Gwent decks seems like a bit of a cop out to me.

How could they possibly balance this? In the main game the difficulty of the gwent opponents increases gradually as you get further into the game. How can they do that in NG+ when players will have an arbitrary number of cards?

Suppose one player enters NG+ missing only one card to complete his collection. Another player enters NG+ having picked up only one card in his entire first playthrough. Now, what baseline difficulty are they supposed to set to balance it for both players?

And what about the quests that are specifically designed to give Gwent cards?

It's really not that hard to collect a set in one playthrough. Sure, some can be missed but anyone who is going for the full set in NG+ will know what they missed out the last time and how to avoid it.

So if I had every Gwent card except for one and then started NG+ do I just need to get that one card for the trophy or do I need to get every single Gwent card all over again?

For those who have begun, how's the level scaling work? Do the early enemies basically start at the low 30s to go with the game leveling up players to that rage or since I'm level 35 already, am I going to be running into packs of level 38 wolves?

Trying to start a NG+ on Steam version... and I'm always getting a "GAME NOT COMPLETED ON THIS SAVEGAME" with any save I try, with both autosave and manuals. And yes, all are from the "free roam" part after the ending.

EDIT: Solved. Seems you must load one of them and then save it again to validate them for the NG+ thing.
