lol at Manics being delusional again. Do we really have to tolerate this every year? I mean, I've been here since I don't know when, 2003? Every single year, Manics bash on the Habs saying the Leafs will beat them. Every single year, the same results.

Manics, my advice : stop hurting yourself. Become a Washington fan.

Oh yeah, the Habs have been ripping up the league in the last 10 years. You talk about delusional when you're constantly hyping a team that barely squeaks into the playoffs and then gets knocked out in the first or 2nd round. Only reason you got to the ECF last year was well documented because of Halak.

I hate Philly just as much as Boston, but one thing I am rather looking forward to is someone on Philly absolutely destroying Marchand.

I agree on all of those, but 'in 6' on everyone? I doubt it, I think Vancouver will win in under 6, same goes for Detroit.

For me it's a case of wondering how these series will play out. Seeing all of these go to game 7 wouldn't be a shock, and seeing a few sweeps wouldn't be a shock either.

My feeling is they don't have to relocate Phoenix, they could just add two more teams to make 32. Winnipeg Jets plus either; Halifax Sundaes, Regina Mounties, Victoria Queens, Califronia Golden Seals, the Toronto Two, Yellowknife Ice Roads, Nunivut notgonnahave, Yukon Chevys or the Houston Aeros. Solves a lot of problems.

Ugh, I liked Briere even after we foolishly let him go but I hate the little shit now:

Wow, that's poor sport.

Should be suspended for the rest of the playoffs. ;)

Edit: Wait... http://www.cbc.ca/sports/hockey/stanleycup2011/blog/2011/04/flyers-victory-sweetest-for-briere.html

Maybe it was a friendly tap on the head? Or am I reading this article wrong...
Flyers forward Danny Briere, left, remains friends with several former Buffalo teammates, including goalie Ryan Miller.

I'm constantly hyping the Habs? I'm constantly setting them up for a 6-8 place in the conference and a first or second round exit, I'm not exactly hyping them, since that's exactly what happens.

But it's still better than playing golf mid-April.

And I'm gonna predict something right now, not even knowing who's gonna make the roster next year, just based on our youth :

Next year, the Habs will get more points than they did this year, and will do better in the playoffs than they did this year. Book it.

actually only been a few weeks, the bulls are pretty hot this year ;)

that being said go Preds..

I'm sorry to gloat, but I still can't believe what happened last night. What fucking heart the Bruins showed in that series. Down 0-2, with the way they played in those two games at home, there was no doubt in my mind that the series was over. A lack of faith? Yes, but I have a hard time believing that any fan of any team wouldn't have felt the same after starting a series that way. Bruins fans even more so; if you know this team's history, you'll understand. But three OT wins? That's something else, even for the first round. And the Habs and Price were incredible, and played with just as much heart as us, never quitting for a second through the series and last night. I hate that team, but you've gotta respect that effort. They could've just as easily been moving on.

Chris Kelly, man... I was critical of the guy at times this season, but Sens fans were right on the money when they said what this guy can bring to the table. The most energetic player on the team (alongside Marchand) with two HUGE goals in the series.

I know the Flyers are up next, but I'm just still enjoying that win. After getting annihilated by the Habs for much of the franchises' history (Montreal was 20-2 against Boston in the playoffs through 1987), the B's have gone 7-4 against them since '88. Maybe we'll catch up by 2050 or so. Regardless, this rivalry will never lose its luster.

Yep, great series. You're right about Chris Kelly, he was the most menacing player on the ice. I'd be worried about that first line, though. You won't get very far if the likes of Lucic, Krejci, and Bergeron (good faceoff man, though) don't start scoring.

Now maybe if Boston fans start cheering your team through hardships instead of crying so much about their past, you might have a shot.

Don Cherry: "THAT WAS A HIGHSTICK!"

Edit: Ference could face discipline? I mean... it's pointless to even think about it since it's Boston. ;)

TBH, I wasn't impressed at all with the Bruins in that series. I think they could play a lot better than they've shown. If they don't find that next gear versus Philly, they'll get bounced.

Jackass is correct. The team will finish with more points, a higher seed and better playoff results next year. Can't wait!

Me neither, really. Last year, when the playoffs ended, I was like : fuck, we'll never get luckier, so we'll never win a cup again in my lifetime.

Now, with the eclosion of MaxPac and Subban, with the continued great play of Cammalleri, with the utter domination of Price this season and with the surprising play by Eller and Desharnais late in the season, I'm really excited about next year. I really want this season to start right now, and I'm not feeling down at all. It feels as if we're at the bottom of a slope that's leading right back to winning days.

Hell yeah!

Yeah, just like Jackass predicted Eller would have more points than MacArthur this year. He's usually bang on.

No discipline for Ference; dodged a bullet on that one, I think (thanks, Greg Campbell's dad). The guy is a douche but he's essential to this team's defensive core.

And yes, the Bruins will need to be much better. Hopefully that big, emotional series win motivates them instead of making them complacent. You see it all the time in sports; teams get over a hump and then just don't show up next round. I do think they'll score a PP goal in the first game, and I do think that not having home ice will benefit them, as they are consistently a better road team.

Kinda of like what the Canucks will probably do. :p

NHL '11 Playoffs |OT| Solo and FJ's Off-Season Habs Rebuild.

in 3 years

habs can't do shit until gomez is gone

according to solo, gomez won't be sent down to the minors

Its just not the Habs style. Too much pride to admit Gomez is a bust, and a buyout is too costly. On my theoretical roster in the off-season thread, I demoted him to the 4th line at least.

Right there on the same page with you! Eller especially matured during the playoffs. Aside from Cammy, he was our best forward.

I said I won't post in this thread again. I lied.

I had an exam today so yesterday, I saw the entire match on my phone while studying. Maybe it was the low-quality, no audio stream, or the stress of studying, but everything felt like a lucid dream.

It didn't kick in that Habs had lost until I commuted my way to university. Every newspaper I picked, Habs are on the frontpage. Friends who don't even watch hockey message me that Habs lost. The heavy rain didn't help either.

Unlike what Manics described, I actually had a very refreshing commute. Beard being shaved, looking forward to summer vacation is a fun thought.

All in all, Habs proved once again that they can fight a good fight. Next season is going to be smudged with lack of new talent and heavy-paid players *cough*Gomez*cough*, but where there is a blur, there is a light in the young players and the return of the injured players. Markov was heavily missed, so was MaxPac. What will make this team much better is the experience that you cannot replace: a chance to play in playoffs with a group of young and veteran players.

This chance is something the other young teams like leafs can't say and state. There is nothing like being in playoffs as the experience is irreplaceable, and they will build on this experience. Once you get a taste of playoffs, you can't settle for anything less.

See you all next Season!

(3) Detroit Red Wings VS (6) Phoenix Coyotes - RED WINGS in 6.
(4) Anaheim Ducks VS (5) Nashville Predators - PREDS in 7.

Went 7/8 on the teams.

Got the number of games wrong for the Caps, Flyers, Canucks, Sharks, Red Wings and Predators.

Hit the nail on the head for the number of games for the Lightning and the Bruins/Habs series but didn't call the right team winning that one.

Someone tell me what happened regarding the flyers game, saw a player bust his stick in frustration and it looked like pronger (?) was telling him to stfu and act professional? What's the story here? I saw a short clip just now but thats it..

When I saw it, I thought it was like.

Pronger: "Yo bro. Fist bump!"

Pronger: "Oh shi~ nevermind."

remember when the leafs started 4-0? I'm pretty sure Leaf-Gaf at one point said they're for sure going to have a perfect season

Yeah, I was wrong about Eller, he took more time than I thought. He will be a WAY better player than MacArthur, though, no doubt about it haha

I can't wait for this to be quoted in the future by Manics when he some how doesn't become better than MacArther. :lol

Manics will be senile from old age soon enough. He won't even remember it by then.
