Canucks are 3 points out of the bottom 3
Canucks are 1 point out of a playoff spot

🤔

Do I cheer for the Canucks
Do I cheer for the Red Wings

🤔

First round exit
First overall pick

🤔

Honestly stumped. I guess I'll cheer for them to....win. 😐

Love the pic.

It hits me on all levels. Quick, you're a boss.

The other boss.

Also, GK are my initials. Does that give me an inherent right to cheer for them if they do well? We almost moved to the Vegas area like 4 years back. And by almost I mean I wanted to and my Quebecer gf said no. It ended there.

Now I'm happy it did.

edit: no my name is not George. I just need that to be clear.

edit2: I kinda dislike my new avatar. Pls advise.

Wait wait wait...

Wasn't someone injured eating waffles?

edit: nm, Dustin Penner and pancakes. Carry on.

I do remember waffles being thrown in Toronto. That should be their thing. Like the Red Wings octopus, just with Leggos.

Wasn't that Dustin Penner? There definitely was someone getting injured eating waffles. There's also the infamous Olli Jokinen waffle gif :lol
I remember that .gif. Get it! I'm too lazy. Let's bring it back.

There are so many Jokinen gifs. I miss him just for that.

He played 26 games for us and had 15 points. I don't even remember why we didn't keep him.

Meta?

Also, did he retire?

edit: Guess he did.

If you can't score on the powerplay, why not let the other team score on the powerplay. That way it still counts as a powerplay goal. This way technically the Wings had 3 powerplay goals last night. Alternative stats.

What kind of image is this TSN? Flattering. Like he's waiting for a massive facial.

So now that the Avalanche might not hit 50 points let alone 50 wins, MacKinnon is searching for silver linings.

“It could be a blessing. Eventually, I will make the playoffs. I will be on a winning team. Hopefully in Colorado that’ll happen for us,” he said.

He’s hoping that Bednar, who is trying to make the most out of this disaster, gets another crack at it next season. “I feel bad for Bedsy, to be honest. He’s a great coach, he’s very smart, he holds everybody accountable. He’s definitely not the problem,” said MacKinnon. “He’s going to be a great coach for us. He’s going to lead us to the playoffs next year. Turn this thing around quickly.”
I don't know what to think, really. I know Bednar isn't the problem when we have fucking garbage personnel and Varlamov has played like he's been carrying an entire team for the last several years. Whatever the answer is, like I said before coming into this season after Roy walked, we'll be a very different team when it comes together. Whether or not Bednar is still part of that, I don't know. I hope he gets a real shot with a real roster before we let him go. This team is top to bottom a giant mess and even the bright sides are hard to get excited about. Rantanen is no doubt being thrown head first into the fire and it's a good thing Bigras didn't stick with the big club this year. The last thing we need is to ruin our defense prospects with this shit.

That said, Zadorov has really come along this year and that says a lot given how fucked up everything has been. I can't wait to see what he can do on a functioning team.

I'd wear a red wings jersey before I'd wear a MAGA hat.
I'd fucking kill myself before I'd wear a MAGA hat
Liberty is dead.

Stars one point out of a playoff spot.
Fuck this broken league

That's the only kind of cover photos we deserve

NHL commissioner Gary Bettman says Carolina Hurricanes fans shouldn't worry about losing their team to Quebec City.

Bettman swiftly knocked down speculation about a possible relocation of the Hurricanes on Saturday during All-Star Weekend, saying the league is committed to keeping the team in Raleigh, North Carolina.

"The club is not moving," Bettman said.

Hurricanes owner Peter Karmanos Jr. has been publicly seeking a local buyer to purchase part of the team for at least three years, but he has yet to make a deal. Karmanos recently acknowledged he has given consideration to selling the entire franchise, which could theoretically open it up to relocation.

Quebec City has an NHL-ready rink -- the $370 million Videotron Centre -- in a small but vibrant hockey market. Quebecor, a communications conglomerate, made a recent bid for an NHL expansion team, but the league decided only to add the Vegas Golden Knights last summer.

Bettman says any sale wouldn't mean the Hurricanes are leaving Raleigh for Quebec or anywhere else.

"Peter may sell, he may not sell," Bettman said. "He may sell all of it. He may sell some of it. He may sell none of it. There's no formal sale process going on. There's no imperative for the franchise to be sold on any immediate basis, and the franchise is not moving. I hope that was definitive enough."

NHL deputy commissioner Bill Daly echoed Bettman's comments later, saying the league is committed to Raleigh in the same manner it has stuck with Phoenix during years of struggles for the Coyotes. And though Bettman and Daly didn't mention it, relocation also wouldn't command the mid-nine-figure fees paid by the new owners of expansion teams.

"It's not all about money," Daly said. "It's about commitment to markets."

Third times the charm!

End of an era with Hitchcock leaving. I became a Blues fan about two years ago and it's been great watching them succeed (except for the postseason) only to see the trash that is this year. I'm gonna mis the guy.

Question is, where to now? I don't think he retires. Vegas? Islanders?

Islanders have goalie issues, so that's a safe bet for Hitchcock

It was weird all around that they had already announced Hitchcock was gone after this season. Why keep the guy you plan to replace only to fire him halfway through the season?

1 win short of tying Arbour for wins. Merciless!

Blues' problems aren't all Hitchcock's fault, but it feels like things had run their course.

Hey if Hitch wants to ride out the season in Florida I'd be game. As long as Rowe gets sent to Leavenworth and out of the org I'll be happy. Though the big prize IMO is Julien, hoping he is the next Cats coach.
