Leafs offense is what it is. If they can't get speed through the neutral zone they're done, can't cycle, can't play on the wall. A couple of open net misplays were pretty unlucky. Lombardi passed on one because he's scared, Lupul missed because of a great play by Salo, and Kessel didn't get wood on his shot. I liked the way they played for like the 6 minutes in between the Phaneuf and Sedin goals though lol... There has been worse from the Leafs in the past week than this game.

1 year extension which means nothing other than preventing him from being a distraction.
Absolute domination after that 1-0 goal. Sedins, as always, made the Leafs look silly. They hadnt had that much freedom in weeks.
By the way, Phaneuf faked getting slashed by Hodgson. He got the stick, nothing but. I think that was the only penalty against the Canucks too?
Their best game in weeks for sure.

Dang, I just saw that the game tomorrow is at noon.
Looks like I'm going to miss it as I have a group meeting tomorrow at that time. Hopefully Detroit can shake the cobwebs of facing San Jose and actually put on a good game and win, but idk, the Sharks seem to have our number so the streak could end but you never know.

As much as I fucking hate Ken Hitchcock, St. Louis is a prime example this season of how coaching can and does contribute to success, not just the talent on the ice. Wilson is the problem. Leafs have no structure in their game and they don't show up for must-win games. These are coaching issues and no trade in the world is going to help when the coaching is this fucking terrible.
