Just cause we had talked about it before, I just finished The Wire. Man, soo good. I don't know how I feel about Season 5 yet but everything before that was absolutely amazing.
I mean the way Omar was killed was so disappointing but this show is all about realism and making that commentary so it makes sense

I would feel comfortable declaring it the best tv show of all time. I will do another watch through in a year or two, and we'll see if it sticks, but right now, best tv show of all time.

And god damn, Detroit needs to stop winning! (had to make it hockey relevant)

Probably the only time I'll ever agree with you.

so on one hand we've got NHL players voting him the"cleanest player", and on the other we've got some canucks fan that's consistently anti-wings (for reasons unknown) who says he dives.

hmmm...tough call. rrrreally tough call.

Especially when those players do actually play against him and more likely to know whether he is a diver or not.

Nah man hes like Messi why don't you get it???

You need a new show to distract you, I suggest Boardwalk Empire. Anything to get you away from here.
He should try the Sopranos first, that's like 10+ seasons right? That should keep him busy until April. I don't think you can be a fan of hockey and not like Datsyuk, he is the epitome of class and talent, and what the game is about.

You know, when I saw that the Bruins were playing the Wild today and thought we might have a chance, it was only because I forgot about Backstrom. Have the Bruins ever fucking scored on this guy?

The below comment I made in January includes players:

Actually if you're a fan of your team, you hate any team that competes with yours vehemently in my opinion. Especially if they beat you in the playoffs. I hate Boston. I hate Chicago. I hate Detroit. I hate San Jose.

I couldn't care about Montreal because they don't compete against the Canucks, but the moment they were in a Stanley Cup against the Canucks, I would hate them forever.

Plus I hate Detroit for buying the cup in 2002 (Hull, Hasek, Chelios, Robitaille) and knocking out Vancouver along the way. In my opinion, that cup run is the exact reason we needed the salary cap.

Great Ceremony for Carter, one thing Montreal hasn't forgot is how to respect it's past heros.

Real bummer of an article about Chris Pronger's recovery. The likelihood of him playing again seems very low.

Every day at home in South Jersey, it’s a constant struggle for Lauren Pronger and her husband Chris, and their family.

“We have a lot of help,” she said. “And we need it.”

Lauren Pronger, who is co-chairman of the Flyers Wives Fight for Lives Carnival, said Sunday that there has not been any substantial change, either positive or negative, to Chris’ post-concussion syndrome since she last spoke in January.

She also admitted that, for the first time, her family is considering reaching out to Keith Primeau who has been suffering from post-concussion syndrome for six years, because her and Chris want to know what life may be like if he never gets better.

“That has been brought up a lot lately,” she said. “There are a lot of parallels between the two [men]. I think Chris is starting to realize now that he should be in communication with him.

“To know what is ahead for him. The more insight you can get, the better off you are. You kinda know what to expect and what you are going through.

“Obviously, there will be differences but if you have someone who has been through it, maybe that is a little comforting.

“I think this is very, very frightening for Chris. He’s been able to battle through so much and come out of it, but this is different for him. This is really tough on Chris. He wants to be out here more than anyone. This is his life, this is his passion. And this is tough.”

Lauren said he continues to have good and bad days.

“Unfortunately, I can’t report any major improvement,” she said. “I certainly wish I could. It’s very disheartening.”

Chris Pronger has gone through bouts of depression during his absence from the team which began in late November. He won’t play this season and his career could very likely be over.

“I see a lot of differences in Chris,” she said. “Just hoping to have a couple good days in a row and see him back to his normal self again. I know he wants this, too. It’s very frightening to him, too.”

She declined to get specific about what differences she has seen in Chris other than, to say, “He is not himself and it’s not in a good way.”

Lauren got emotional speaking to reporters.

“I just want him to get better,” she said. “He still has a long life to live, three kids and a wife and everything. Right now, we’re just hoping for his health to come back. That is our priority.”

It would make me so happy if you guys came back and won it. You need another couple weeks of Boston struggling to stand a chance, though.

We don't stand a chance though.

Thomas has kicked our ass as long as I remember.

Last game was competitive and we still found a way to fuck it up with a goal from centre ice smh.
