no worries, just messing around. It sounded like a good game. what was up with luongo's celebration though. Seems rather excessive, but I honestly don't know what happened.
Luongo is a religious zealot and was praising his Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.

Honestly it was weird. Not sure if it was an in-joke or him just being very happy with the win.

so he was..louongo-ing? I thought that consisted of a couple soft goals and choked back tears in the postgame ;)

makes sense now though, sounds like it was a crazy finale then.

Chicago fans don't have class. Why did you really miss the game?

aren't you a writer of some sort, the bar should be higher than that..

I set the bar higher for fans of good teams like Detroit, not teams that lose to Dallas.

In all honesty, I was just having fun. Chicago fans are pretty good regarding class, you and Vince Vaughn notwithstanding.

There is nothing left to say.......

But wow @ the Philly Flyers of Los Angeles

Big lol if Richards and Carter cause a rift in the locker room

Fire Allaire.

Also, Burke has to be one of the worst GMs in the league at free agent signings. I think the Leafs should opt out of the free agent market. No good UFAs ever want to sign here. I'm sick of seeing Burke signing junk mercenaries like Connolly, Komisarek, Lebda, Armstrong. Beauchemin is a pretty good defenseman but he was awful in Toronto. So far his only good pick up in the free agent market is MacArthur.

It's sickening to see Komisarek and Armstrong as healthy scratches every night. They both combine for a $7.5 million cap hit and sit in the press box. Armstrong stinks.

For the Detroit Red Wings, it was Thursday.

It's always a big game when the top 2 teams in the Conference face each other, especially as the season is starting to wind down and they're only separated by 2 points in the standings.

You're right, though, the game meant more to the Canucks. They commented before the game on how they wanted to be the team to end Detroit's streak.

Luongo said the team was almost hopeful the streak would continue after their last meeting so the Canucks could have a chance to break it.

"That's what's fun about playing the game -- challenges like that," he said. "I think as a group we're excited about that and we're going to step up to the plate."

Armstrong has been a healthy scratch? I thought he was a heart and soul guy for the leafs and that they had a winning record with him in the lineup.

Last year: probably, when he wasnt injured.

This year: Armstrong is worthless.

Also, the sarcasm makes it hard to figure out exactly what you're trying to say. Are you referring to Leaf fans making such a claim about Armstrong or Burke himself?

Not sarcasm, I read a stat somewhere last year either online or broadcaster said it that the leafs had a better wining record with him in the lineup compared to him out of it.

And to top it off, they're supposed to be the team leaders after Phaneuf. Says a lot if your alternate captains are sitting in the press box.

Burke doesn't go after the "obvious", and instead opts for a player of comparable skill (:lol). With that said, he's not done so well. It's like he's trying to build a team with knock-off parts, and it just isn't working properly.

I can give Armstrong more leeway considering he's been injured a shit ton, but he's only really been effective as a third line impact player early last season. He's been useless.

Komisarek's supposed to be a big body d-man, which he covers. What he doesn't cover very well is the defensive zone. He's echoing McCabe out there with his pylon-style play. He's had his flashes of good play, but that's about it.

I forgot what the market looked like back in the summer, but I can imagine there were better choices than Connolly. His contract isn't terrible, so it's not like Burke shot the team's foot.

Beauchemin was one of the more reliable d-men from a crop of mediocre ones. He was decent, but didn't mesh so well with the rest. I actually like Beauch and I'm glad to see he's doing better in Anaheim.

And Lebda...fucking lol.

Burke can fleece hard in trades, but the guy doesn't have as much game on free agency signings.

Hmm. Overall, last night was a good one for hockey. At least from my point of view.

Great way to start off the Blues' current pilgrimage.

Was at the autoshow last night so missed the entire game.

I'll be in panic mode if at around 13-14 games left in the season we're down 6 points.
