Ni No Kuni 2 releasing in 2017

So did Ding Dong Dell get taken over by evil ferret dude?

I'm going to miss the familiars I think. The combat wasn't perfect but I still digged it.

The lack of the Pokemon aspect is pretty disappointing, it's kind of crazy that no one has ever really tried to take advantage of the lack of Pokemon on PS consoles.

Still really looking forward to the game though.

King Tom better be in this or I will riot.

My guess is they are putting it off on purpose, I highly doubt they would take out familiars all together seeing as they were a big part of the first game. Well at least I hope; familiars (pokemon aspect) is what lured me to the first game.

Um. But SMT was Pokemon before Pokemon was Pokemon. And also, digimon cyber sleuth does a good job.

True I suppose, but other then something like Monster Rancher (which I desperately miss) no one has ever really tried to capitalize on it the way they probably could have.

SMT is a good example but 4 was on only on 3DS. Yo Kai watch could have been a good attempt but they decided to compete directly with Pokemon instead.

Umm is the main character supposed to be male or female? IT looks female but you can never tell with young anime characters

I'd imagine Tom is an ancestor for the main character. But I don't think there will be any returning characters. I mean if Evan is king that would mean Tom is already dead.

Male. He's a king.

I agree but Cyber Sleuth has been in the Vita download charts quite a lot since launch. I think now they're going the extra mile with the next one we may actually see a decent marketing push which may help sales a bit (although it did exceed expectations so far as I remember).

I really want to play the first game, I hope they eventually re-release it.

I do to, if they don't rerelease it on the PS4 i'm going to get it on the PS3. Only when there'a date for this one though since I have a backlog and it will narrow down the time frame so I don't buy it then they release it.

Loved the first one. Only RPG i was motivated enough to complete. Day 1...however, a bit disappointed that Studio Ghibli is not involved :(

Have they confirmed how many years this takes place after the events of the first game? Even if it's a good while, I just kinda assumed some of the more fantastical characters can live on for a long time, like Drippy.

Noooo, don't say King Tom and everyone else has passed away. That's depressing.

No idea how much time has passed but I'd imagine it's quite a while considering very little callbacks to first game shown thus far, mainly only Ding Dong Dell. The bare minimum would be Evan being Tom's son and I don't think that's the case.

I feel like I should actually play through the entire first game before I play this. I loved the first one, but then I sold my PS3 collection, and right now I'm borrowing one.

Hi I wanna get into Ni No kuni

Do I need to play part 1 to know what's going on? (my ps3 was stolen when someone broke into my house :( )

I remember the game arrived a few days later :(

I got to to play the demo, did the sequel drop the pokemons and turn based battle system?

Is it now an action based combat system or hybrid?

Last but not least any chance of the original Ni No Kuni PS3 port to PS4?

99% sure you won't need to play the first one to follow this.

Seems like action based, pokemons probably gone but they have some weird pikmin minions now, no idea how that system works.

Last but not least any chance of the original Ni No Kuni PS3 port to PS4?
Always a chance.

Nice crepuscular rays, colourful shell iridescence and cloth animation.

Presumably she's a queen or princess of the sea with the crown.

As long as there are still plenty of puns, I'm good. I'm sure enemy names will still be pun-based, even if they don't serve as familiars anymore. If not, why, that would be punbelievable!

Wait what? No familiars? What the fuck.....

Hype killed.
I mean, I didn't play the first but does the removal of that Pokémon-light mechanic really "kill" your hype for this? Despite the amazing graphics, lush environments, incredible score, animation, etc? I can never tell if people are serious or using hyperbole so that's why I ask. It seems like this game has a lot of good things going for it.

I never felt the familiar system was something the first game ever needed or called for (I'd actually say it undermined the game, thematically). So far, it's a good sign we seem to be moving away from that, although I want to learn more ab I UT the new minions.

The line "You'll take my little darlings with you, of course?" should be "You'll take my darling dumplings with you, of course?"

I never had a problem with the familiars, as long as you didn't use the broken OP ones, it was pretty good. But that party AI... Constantly had to pamper them. Made the game quite challenging despite the looks.
