Except for the paragraph where he basically blames Musk.Seems like this has nothing to do with Musk.
He was actually good source on gaming info if you are on twitter. Just posting stuff that you can find elsewhere but it was nice to get in one place.Who?
Seems like he was expecting to make a stable income from... basically retweeting stuff. He was actually good source on gaming info if you are on twitter. Just posting stuff that you can find elsewhere but it was nice to get in one place.
From his Patreon page:
"Hey! I tweet about video games.
My main focus is covering general news, notable developments and interesting content from the video games industry and beyond. This also includes live coverage of events and anything else that I consider to be of interest to my followers or/and myself.
This page is meant for people who are familiar with what I do and consider it valuable enough to support it. Thanks for reading!"
So.... he was hoping to generate stable income from.......... literally just tweets?
As far as I remember he never leaked anything/did anything original. He would just react to shit or say "oh yeah I heard that too" after the fact.
Leaving a platform because some blue haired tit doesnt own it anymore…. Wow such principles…
Never heard of him anyway. No loss
It's more that he couldn't monetise that.
Why is he leaving patreon? People make money from that right?
He wasn't able to generate a decent income from Patreon, which means his work does not provide much value to a sizeable amount of people. It's simple economics. Why is he leaving patreon? People make money from that right?
This is disappointing because he had a solid account. From his Patreon page:

I think a lot of people want to work in the video game industry because they think it will be fun but they don't realize their isn't much money in it unless your a big influencer with a following or work as a dev/ higher up at one of the studios.
Why would someone pay you to report basic gaming news when there are so many other outlets that do that for free, especially on Twitter.
