Nibellion leaving Twitter

I hope these people know there is a world outside of Twitter and that it's okay. lol Jesus what a bunch of whiners. Biggest Twitter haters are on fucking Twitter, seems ass backwards if you ask me.
Easier said then done. The young crowd and techies love social media all hoping to be Twitter famous. I dont think it's even about trying to make a career out of it making money, since I'll assume people know that and they have a normal job aside of tweeting. Just trying to be popular in a different way than Hollywood red carpet famous.

There will be Patreon member offerings to like or RT your tweets at this rate.

$10 tier: One reply to you a month plus two retweets. Tweets must not contain any inappropriate language.

It sounds a bit out there but I wouldn't be surprised. Look at YouTube, a fair number of live streamers will only acknowledge comments if it's a Superchat.

Can't wait for Paul to leave, hopefully he'll be so distraught over Musk he will also stop posting shitty Forbes articles.
I don't understand why everyone (read: seemingly people on the left side of standard political arguments mostly) is so annoyed about Musk buying Twitter. Maybe I'm just not in the know enough but what exactly is everyone afraid he'll do?

Nobody young is using Twitter, brah. It's all ageing boomers and creaking millennials who think they're young.

Musk buying Twitter is the best thing that could of happened to Twitter. He's effectively automated the process of taking out most of the trash on Twitter without any effort. Brilliant!

He got 1k people paying him on patreon? or got 1k a month through patreon?
Judging from his patreon, he had two tiers. Basic 1.50 euro per month and then a 3.50 euro per month.

He is earning at least 1,479 euro a month (986 paterons times the min 1.50) I really think that dude shouldn't be quitting that for just tweeting things. Would be an idiot if he did.

Seems like he was expecting to make a stable income from... basically retweeting stuff.
Looks like nobody thought his content was worth paying for.
Shocked GIF by The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon
He did what Apple News is doing. Aggregating stuff from various sources. The idea isn't even that bad. But he could not get it to work so he stopped. kudos to him for trying to hustle.
Michael Pachter is doing similar stuff "video game analyst" ... additional to aggregating he's also commenting on stuff and made a career out of it....

Who is he?

Twitter

Who cares 🤔
He used to be a user here. Was one of the REEEsetEra founders iirc, then pursued a career on Twitter.

Whatever happened to that Shinobi guy? Him and this guy were really similar as far as cultivating a following by posting gaming news. Maybe it's Shinobi's time to shine.

There's several practical reasons why he left twitter.

But he most likely didn't find the few thousand he made there worth all the time he has to be tweeting constantly. So he simply dropped this side gig.

Why don't these people just host there own misskey instance? Like this one
If you don't like twitter or discord, support open standards like misskey or Matrix.

Oh shit, the Matrix is finally happening? Jack me in!

He could have monetized it.

But yeah, just like all karma whores on twitter, he did it for free for years and didnt get a single dim out of it.
He tried to monetize with Patreon and it didn't work. It's very hard to monetize a face less social media account, especially when the content isn't original.

Creating a YouTube channel to go along with his Twitter might have been a better way to connect with his audience and maybe it would have been easier to sell them content or products that way but it's very hard to make a living covering video games, especially with the strategy he was using.

I don't understand those who celebrate the moves of billionaires. If twitter chases away many of those who don't support him it'll just turn into Parler or truth social. Two dying platforms. Needs a mix of different people to remain a different.

Idiots like Paul know there's a block button right?
There is no such thing as blocking, ignoring, or filtering. There is no curating your own experience through provided tools. There is only complaining until someone else curates your experience on your behalf or leaving a platform entirely in protest.

Good on him for leaving the garbage chute of the internet. I don't really know why he didn't go the Wario64 route of just dumping affiliate links in every other Tweet though.

I swear this motherfucker must have only been mentioned a couple of times throughout this forum's history because this is the first time I hear about him.

Surprised you guys don't know considering his tweets are in a majority of threads when it came to rumors especially.
I don't pay attention to that stuff. The Rumorverse is fun, but I don't really look at who starts the rumors.

Who cares. He never broke news. He was not an insider. All he did was Retweet shit, as he/she spent all day wasting their life in front of the pc. This isn't Wario64, that dude slays.

I'll sound very old, but what a parasitic existence. Just regurgitating PR releases and the work of actual journalists, and then expecting to get paid. It's work a bot could do.

I don't get it.

What's the difference between celebrating the moves of a billionaire and the moves of someone penniless? it can be good or bad either way.

Twitter was already a toxic place, I'm not sure if it's gonna get better, but it's hard to get worse.

Yeah, that is fucking ridiculous if he got that much from tweeting news. I assume he expected that people aren't gonna continue to pay him through his scheme and he started to cry and made this dramatic exit.

Soo musk owning Twitter for a day has made such changes that affect..,,???
Have you seen the moves Musk is already planning to make:

https://www.ign.com/articles/twitte...-verification-even-for-those-already-verified

People taking the Elon buyout so seriously is hilarious to me. Also, hundreds of people tweet, blog, and have websites dedicated to video game news. One leaves 10 will replace them.

I just skimmed the article and checked Twitter myself. I dont have a Twitter account so I was never able to search stuff. It'd say sign up for Twitter. But now, I can. I just did a random search for NHL and it brought up some team reco pages which worked when I clicked them.

Musk is already making it more open already.
